Sort of. You need admin access to their computer to install the software there. This software is designed to view and/or take control of their desktop while they are on it. I've worked for several employers that use this to watch employees. I've also used it for family tech support.
Ok, I have been using uvnc this way on a LAN but, how about across the internet? I understand that you have to use the PUBLIC IP (the one provided by ISP) and if there are many computers as uvnc servers ( in a remote LAN) , how can I connect to specifically one of them?
Dumb question, do all my keyboard presses go to the other machine? Do all the shortcuts register on the other machine instead of the one I'm using? Like F4 won't close the window?
I had this working for two windows 7 machines, and now it's not. I have no clue why it's not anymore, can you think of anything I might have missed in the settings?
Yes, there is an option not display the tray icon in the settings. So that's half the problem. Also on Windows 7, Go to your start menu and grab the folder there and drag it onto your desktop. That will remove it from everyone's start menu. It seems absurd, but I just tested it on patched 7 and the menu items were not present in the other user's menu. They might go into task manager and see it. If you move their mouse they will suspect. Also Anti-virus flags it. (MS Security Essentials)
Well, to me "Remote Desktop" will always be the Microsoft product and an extension of terminal services, but it's different to the layman. They don't know the differences between RDP, VNC, or whatever. That's why I use the term remote desktop here.
Hey Chris, I have 3 windows 10 systems connected to a home wifi network. I have installed UltraVNC on all. The Problem is, A can be accessed by B and C. But A cannot access B nor C. Also, B and C cannot access each other. What do you think is the problem?
I installled it but after it finished it didn't pull up the settings to allow me to change the password. so i manually opened it(uvnc viewer) through "all programs" and all it gives me is a little screen that says quick setting -auto,lan,ultra medium, modem etc.and a connect button. Ive used tightvnc viewer and used that password to connect and it pops up like a hundred blank pages.any idea where i may have gone awry? i followed the directions to the T. and it was all going well until..
hello, I need your help.... in my workplace I use 2 monitors.... and at my home, I only have 1 monitor... it is possible to use ultrvnc to access both monitors at my workplace from home..... please help me
Thank you great video, I've tried setting this software (Ultra VNC) up at a karaoke bar, so they can control their computers in their vip rooms, but all their computers are offline and the owners don't seem to think they need to be online for the software (Ultra VNC) to work instead they have all their computers connected to each other via ethernet (cable). so do those computers need to be online, for the software (Ultra VNC) to work?
Wrong title "Remote Desktop" , what you mean is remote console of a remote computer. You can't access a Remote Desktop (TM) session, see what I mean? To access a remote desktop session you need AWRC Pro 10.
I loved the tutorials but I am a little confused about who is the server and who is the viewer??? Lets say I want to have a computer that I use to manage my entire home network with, 3 desktops, two servers, five laptops, 3 tablets and 3 smart phones not to mention 3 Xbox's and 2 smart TVs.... I have one laptop that I use as the main administrators computer and it is the one that I want to be able to access all of the other computers with so my confusion is this... as the administrator trying to view and remotely control these other computers do I use the server or the viewer option when I am setting up VNC on the admin computer???
So the viewer would be run by the admin computer and the servers would be run on the computers you want to connect to remotely. The server is the machine sharing the content and the viewer gains access to that servers display (and control if you have it configured that way).
jeez spying on kids like that (i know you just made the suggestion but still...) - why not have multiple cameras in their room, tracking devices sewn into their clothes, etc.? parents today... sheesh...
download Net countrol 2 or Italc but better is Net countrol 2 it's easy to instrall and u can monitor all pc in ur company without know ur employ and u can shutdown all pc u can stop any services ex facebook u can listen his voice and if they have cam u can open but they should in ur lan connection lot just u try
uvnc looks quite expensive for me. We've switched to AEROADMIN at our office. It's easy, and most importantly safe program for RDPing. Saves lots of time in configuration.
14 years is crazy.

No, Remote Desktop does that. UltraVNC shares the desktop.

Is there a possible way to let the UltraVNC Server start automaticly, because every time I have to start it manually by dubble clicking it?

You just need to place UltraVNC server at Startup folder.
