I had been so excited to do some Dartmoor wild camping for so long, and experience hiking along The Dartmoor Way, but after hearing about the Dartmoor wild camping ban I had so many questions! I would be hiking the trail with some members of my Officially Smashed It hiking club, so as I wasn’t alone I wanted to make sure our trip would be as stress free as possible.
This is part 2 of our epic adventure, if you haven’t seen part 1 - click the link below ⬇️

Is it legal to wild camp on Dartmoor? I checked out the official website at
www.dartmoor.gov.uk to check and found the map of the permissive wild camping areas we could use along the trail.
How long is The Dartmoor Way? The original route is 108 miles, however we were doing The High Moor link circular which crosses the moors, so our trail would be 90 miles long. We planned to start and finish the loop in Oakehampton, as it had the best public transport links for us all.
Dartmoor National Park is simply stunning! Join us on our adventure as we discover this magical hiking trail and enjoy the thrills and spills of wild camping UK.

Well done for doing it despite the weather , and well done to Steve & Deven for going as far as they did .
Thanks Andy, yes they both did an amazing job 😃😃
💗Weather was not on your side. Always sad to see buddies drop by the way, but great that they turned out and gave it a good go.
Thanks Noddy, yes it was a shame but I’m so glad they enjoyed the bits they did manage to do and they will be joining me for more trails this year 😃🙌
Big up to all, but especially Steve.!!! Proper warrior mate. 💯🙏😇😇😇🙌
Agreed!! He was a complete legend, luckily his back is better now and he is back out smashing the trails! You will see more of him on the channel 😃 thanks so much for watching
You did not have the bedst weather. Nice watch. Thanks.
No it wasn’t but we still had a wonderful time x thanks so much for watching 😃😃♥️
Wind and rain throughout, cracking views though! Tavestock looks nice, oh no poor Steve, shame about his back, what a soldier, great chap! That rain is not for giving up! The hardcore few remain. Running out of dry clothes, love the wild horses! Bad news on the tea rooms. Great news on the pub, what a blessing! The diversion for the reservoir was worth it, lovely views! Another very brave instalment. Well done Martin! 👍
Hi Martin, thanks so much for watching and for dropping a msg 😁 aha all the thrills and spills on this trail lol x go hard or go home 🤣
But a beautiful trail with some very lovely sights, I’m looking fwd to heading back down that way next year and doing another one
I hope your both ok! 👌🏻
Very exciting and fun camp, sister👍🏻😍
😃😃 glad you enjoyed it x thanks for watching
Another cheerful video Kerry 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Tony 😃 I hope your ok and had a fabulous bank holiday weekend x
@@DrunkOnWanderlust thanks Kerry. It was a bit wet but Mrs Paddler is waterproof and a little toughie 🙂👍
Such a great video 😊😊 x
Thanks beautiful 😍
So refreshing to see u and hope all is good also keep getting out you 😘
Hey you! It was so nice being back out again 😁😁 it felt like a very long winter x hope your ok and had a great bank holiday weekend
@@DrunkOnWanderlust yes long winter n I just back from Turkey lol needed some sunshine and good to see u out smashing it and keep it up you 😘
Eh up. Hope you are all fine. Ice to watch these. I think the sweaty balls and that there's a bug on lose. Buckfastleigh is very important place for some of us jocks - I used to induge in tbe odd Buckie. Glad you're Kerry x
Yes I’ve tasted Buckfast wine … 🤯 I’m not supposed to have caffeine as I have an irregular heart beat and didn’t realise it was laced with so much of it …. Not a good experience for me 🤣🙈 won’t be having it again, potent stuff! But a lot of my Scottish mates love it!!
@@DrunkOnWanderlust bless you sweetheart. 🙏 I hope you've got everything in hand. Carry on camping- I've found good exercises are our saviour in proportion to what is safe. I get told off by bossy boots - my daughter for going hill walking - but I'm careful. Formby Beach Sunday was excellent- Silverdale soon I think. I want to get some more beach wildcamps in this year.
You snuck this in, was a lovely surprise when I got on the treadmill this evening. With that weather the two of you did well to finish! X
Thanks Steph, we were determined 😃 and luckily just found it amusing so we were ok x
That was fantastic well done all, even if not all the merry travellers finished it still a great achievement, kerry everyone needs you as a best mate 👍 😀
Aww that’s a lovely comment Mick!! You should come and join us on one 🤗 we always have good fun!! X
Well done for completing it in such terrible weather., but did you answer his 3 questions to reach the other side and what were they ? Did the 2-Moors Way back in 77 before GPS and easily got lost on Exmoor !
🤣🤣 I did not answer 3 questions…. I told him to move out of the way and stop being a geek, which he kindly did without question! Oh lovely, apart from getting lost how was it? Beautiful I bet! I’m looking fwd to heading down in better weather and checking it out 🤗…. As always, thanks so much for watching x
@@DrunkOnWanderlust Did it from Ivybridge on the southern boundary of Dartmoor National Park to Lynmouth. Dartmoor was great, Exmoor was boggy, but still nice.
me and my partner would do this. we wanna be heading north to the highlands way up top
It’s a wonderful trail, you should definitely get out and give it a go 🤗 thanks so much for watching and good luck if you do decide to do it x
Just found your videos. Great content. What brand is your black cap please. Its brilliant.
Hello there 😃 so sorry for the delay I’ve just seen this, I bought it off eBay … they are called peaked beanies 🤗
Ooo thank you
Yikes was it the water source you filtered from maybe?
A few people mentioned this, they said due to the amount of livestock, sometimes you need to filter twice or filter plus purify 🙈 I may have been that, or just a bug? Not sure
You lost a few on this one Kerry. I felt for them all - who wants to step off trail? Not many. Ha, that's just it isn't it? Put your wet gear on and it has to come off. Well, a decent group camp at the start. Mark
Thanks Mark, yes a few good men lost along the way, but they will be back in full force to join me on some other trails this year so all will be well x hope your ok and thanks for watching
@@DrunkOnWanderlust Hey, that's good to hear Kerry. We achieve nothing when we give up. Me? Still getting stronger from injury - hope to be back out soon to. Peace.
2:53 Buckfastleigh , home of Buckfast abbey , home of a certain tonic wine favoured by Scotland's "finest" 🤣
I never knew that Andy, great bit of info for an ‘obscure fact geek’ like myself 😬
Yes I’ve tried the wine 🍷😵💫…… never again, I’m not supposed to drink caffeine and it’s laced with it lol
Well done for completing the walk, some nasty weather there, makes all the difference.
Thanks so much 😆 yes some rubbish weather towards the end, but we still had a great laugh x thanks so for watching
Well done for ploughing on despite the horrendous weather!!! You guys are Troopers!!! 🤘
Also Happy Birthday Devan!!! 🎉
Thanks Jordan! Hope your ok x missing your smiley face on these trails, I hope I get to see you soon xxx
Where's Danny.👍💯💥
She’s working.
Awww she had to work, but she’s back out with me this weekend on a hike so that video will be out shortly 😊😊😊😊
That was great, really enjoyed it. "Slightly moist but energised" - that's the spirit!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😃😃 I don’t mind a bit of rain when hiking at all, as long as everyone is safe it can be quite fun sometimes lol
That looks a cracking route, and n such thing as bad weather.
What I really love about your videos is thay are always always upbeat and full of laughter all the way.
Good result crack on
Thanks Kev 😃 glad you enjoyed it x yes we had fun .. we always have a laugh regardless of the weather x hope your ok x
'Luckily it was only 3 miles' said nobody ever except Kerry lol
😂😂😂
I'll never forget your salty balls advice Oracle, great fun video yet again, see you in the next one Kerry
😂😂 I am indeed the oracle! An absolute waterfall of wisdom x hope your ok Mark x

😃😃😃 was a fun challenge!!!!
OMG that was hard core. Rather you than me xx
Ahh clare yes it was pretty wet and windy! But we laughed a lot and still had loads of fun 🤩
Nice to see you back out looking and feeling better. Gggrrr buses and bad info, bane of our long distance walking life too! This is a nasty sickness bug, poor Matt. Buckfastleigh looks really nice. Not dead yet, well im glad the rest of the group seem well! Wow some cracking views following that climb. As always loving your infectious energy! ❤Moor, moor, moor, well Dartmoor certainly has a lot of those! Great first day but probably not meat balls again! More later, or should i say Moor?
😂😂😂 I love the moors!!! Thanks so much for watching, I still haven’t had a chance to watch your Whitby goth festival video as been celebrating my birthday out in Tenerife, but it’s in my list! Hope you all had a great time 😃
In ML speak you have had some quality days on the hill! Well done you two for finishing, tough on the other three not to finish but a valiant effort none the less. I hope Steve gets his back sorted.
Hey Iain yes Steve is ok now thanks and has been back out with us smashing another trail …. Vids out next week 😃 he is a total legend!! X doing a day one this Sunday and Danni is coming so she will be back with danni can and interesting nail varnish again soon lol
@@DrunkOnWanderlust Cheers Kerry, good to see you both again on the trail and as always I look forward to viewing your adventure, and Danni with her nails done. Glad to hear Steve is back at it.
