    Hi sir, I just wanted to ask that in an exam will the question say that the unknown angle is an obtuse angle, for us to realize the ambiguous case and do 180 minus answer?

      The exam question will make it clear if you need to use an obtuse angle yes, usually because of the diagram. Note: If you do OCR you do not need to know the ambiguous case.
