Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it, let me know if you have any problems with the template. I'll probably update it in future as I program new drum patterns in there 😊
Can I ask. Was I the 1 billion and 1 subscriber :) . People need to share this channel. Not enough Elektron nerds sharing quality content like this!! “Keep ‘er lit” as we say in Northern Ireland!!
Mate if you dont enjoy drum programming, just use loops, slice em if you need to but just use loops, its fine and in actuality for hip hop/lo-fi and D&B generally ends up sounding more characterful than using one shots.
I don't mind using loops every now and again but I get more satisfaction when I know everything has been tailor made in house, you know what I mean? I love the results from good drum programming, this template is about removing all the obstacles when trying to get a song together as quickly as possible. Mainly because I'm so slow at programming 😂
I feel you on the drums. I was not allowed to have a drum kit due to our condo, but I could have w guitar/keys. For what its worth though I think you come up with some truly excellent beats that are unique and original. They’re interesting and its probably because youre not a traditional drummer.
Thanks man ☺️ I've always been in the exact same situation. I can play drums a little bit but that's mainly from asking to play other peoples drum kits when playing in bands. Otherwise I either program them in or play then with a keyboard. But it's like you say, it anyways sounds different to a real drum loop haha
actually I m new in OT I got it 2 weeks ago, I also have a model samples so it wasn't t difficult to get started with the master OT, but what I want to see more is how to construct a song,. I see you make a song per bank, that means you have 16 patterns per song and each part is a bank if I m not wrong, so you have 4 banks each bank with its own samples, but where it gets messy for me is working with parts and assigning them to patterns. It gets that messy that even my question is not well formulated. thanks and keep up with good work
I use this project file solely for preparing drum loops which I then render and use in other projects. But I do tend to have one song per bank, each bank can have 4 separate parts but only one set of patterns. So in my template I've programmed a drum pattern and I can use parts to quickly swap the sounds that are being triggered by the pattern. There are many other uses for parts though! I'd be very happy to record some videos on my full songwriting workflow because it's a bit hard for me to explain with words 😅🙈
Patterns are basically a way to try on different clothes with the same person. Parts are a way to try different people in the same clothes. Patterns save the note, trigger timing etc and parts save the machines and parameters. Its cool to make an entire song then switch parts and see the 'random' effect of the pattern playing suddenly different instruments....
Thanks! I got an Octatrack recently and you’re video’s are really helpful. Can’t wait to try the template. 😎

I d love to learn more of this song creating process in OT with parts and everything involved. anyway thank a lot for this one
It's on my list of things to record now 😄 thanks buddy!

Thanks man, gotta keep people watching somehow. You've heard how boring my voice is 😂
@@tinygregmusicinfo is interesting, nothing wrong with voice! Just come up with more content, this is why we watching it. We are learning from you
@@tinygregmusichey, what kinda mic do you have on your voice? It sounds quite close to your mouth, nice and clear, is it a lapel?
Nice Vid!! Is it possible to make video of how you install the template? PLz!!
