RH fumbling this hard will also likely lead to decline in sales with parents/kids, not just collectors. Kids might not notice or care about the decline in articulation but they will notice the outfits aren't as cute as their older RH dolls (and RH/SH dolls still on shelves), and not all kids are into slime and glitter. If they wanted to give up on collectors and focus on kids they should have released these without the pet/slime element to lower the cost. Giving worse quality for the exact same price is going to be noticed by some parents and kids that have their own money to spend.
I asked my niece how she felt about them and she says the pets scare her but she likes the slime, but her mom would never let her have a slime doll so that’s out of the picture! I think so many parents are gonna see “slime” and say no more rainbow high dolls As someone who knows about dolls I also wouldn’t buy this for her because of the high price and the lack of articulation and accessories
@@LuciesCafe Yeah I feel like brand should do spin off if they want a more childish version. Like instead of doing a whole reboot they could keep the original and do a spin off series about them being younger or something
I feel like slime as a concept has shifted into being mostly bought by neurodivergent adults as a sensory/stimming thing. I use it instead of therapeutic putty for the nerve issues in my hands, so I follow a few shops, and the ones that consistently sell out target adults with their scents and textures. They make small batches of extremely high quality, long lasting products meant to be played with for months. None of which MGA is doing with this horrible return to the gross Poopsie slime line and the most basic slime in the entire world.
honestly props for being genuine enough to criticize these dolls and say what we were all thinking even though you got the doll through PR. A lot of reviewers pretend to like something just because it was a "gift" from the company...
Yeah, I think a lot are scared to lose business connections with companies, but honestly I think better opportunities arises to earn lasting credibility when they’re honest.
I think we have changed, it's MGA that hasn't and I don't know why. They are truly backwards in their thinking and companies need to stop adding loose glitter to toys. It's unneeded microplastic and not good for the environment. Big thumbs down for this mega company who should do better.
Slime as a product is selling well, but from like, indie shops making small batches, not mass-produced crap like this not at all subtle Poopsie rebrand. It seems like most kids know how to make better slime than this at home these days, so why would they pay extra to get subpar slime with an overpriced plastic figurine and bland doll? Make it make sense, MGA.
@@psychotophatcat Agreed. Those small shops also don't just do the most basic slimes ever. Like there's a lot of cool themed types that I bet kids would like more. Also all the glitter is gaudy to me. And I love sparkles, just not microplastic glitter.
I can already say that parents will avoid these dolls simply because of the slime aspect. Little children dont always follow directions and adult supervision is needed for making the slime. But afterwards, the glitter will get everywhere, the slime will ultimately end up somewhere it shouldn't, and overall it's just a gimmick that has limited play value because the slime is so low quality. As for the doll itself, im so sad to see less articulation and cool outfits. I got a couple shadow High dolls because i loved their look and outfits, and being able to pose them in natural ways makes for fun photoshoots. Honestly, the rebrand just seems like a stupid cash grab that will ultimately fail.
As someone who has a big family with a lot of them being children, all my aunts generally stay away from slime toys or anything that can ruin furniture or that will require a deep clean. I can definitely see this being a big flop.
Am I the only one thinking this is monster high generation 2 all over again? I want the orginal rainbow high back, the details were everything and I loved the mix n match fashions
What I don't understand, is that Europe banned plastic glitters and MGA decided this is the best time to add fucking ugly glitters everywhere. Like, along with the ugly reboot they probably are going to face legal actions if they decide to sell in Europe..what a way to make a really (imo) good line fail miserably.
So i am just gonna throw this out there... as someone who find their dolls PRIMARILY second hand, this is gonna be tragic. Finding these dolls in second hand markets, they are absolutely going to be covered, coated, tacky, sticky, slimey messes. I absolutely hate this change, I see no benefit...at all. Moving towards being a kids brand namely was a mistake, they had a loyal collector base with great characters- what even are they thinking?
They shouldn't send this stuff to adult collectors if they don't want the input of adult collectors 🤷 They're just plain asking for this line to be torn apart. It's like they genuinely believe the "kidult" thing is the only explanation for doll collecting 😒
I don’t even collect RH and I’m disappointed to see this decline in quality. How can I bully Mattel into having higher quality if their competitors are lowering their quality?? 😭
I'm curious if they'll even be allowed to sell in EU-countries because loose glitter has been banned for a little over a month now 🤔 I wouldn't mind not seeing these in stores, but oh well... Lovely review about a less than lovely doll! Also, I think the pet might be a sloth unicorn thing?
To be precise, the EU banned microplastic loose glitter. The one coming with these dolls *could* be the biodegradable kind which is still allowed, but seeing how MGA is cutting corners left and right, it seems unlikely. So yeah, it's entirely possible these dolls won't even show up in the EU and like you, I'm not mad about it 🤣
This will be their second rebranding which is crazy. They originally came out as larger dolls with slime elements, I don't understand why they are going back to slime. Slime toys have had their time and gone :s I hate that they are now losing articulation as well! It just shows they are starting to cheap out and if Monster High and Ever After High was anything to go off of, people will get bored with the basic looks and just stop buying.
No, those big dolls are Rainbow Surprise/Poopsie Slime Surprise, they predate RH, although they were later re-released in RH packaging to try and move excess stock. Rainbow High was conceptualized as 1/6 versions of those characters but evolved into its' own thing prior to release, so it's not a rebrand (it would be like saying Bratzillaz was a rebrand of Bratz, as opposed to a spinoff or sister line)
I find interesting that Rainbow Hight has basicly went back to its roots. If you rember the Rainbow Poopise series back then they realised a Gigant Slime doll similar to the baby unicors but you had to instead put the slime in the clothes. There was a total of 4 dolls and they are VERY VERY VERY simialar to characters from the first wave of Rainbow Hight.
That's because originally Rainbow High was meant to be 1/6 versions of those characters! RH evolved into its' own thing prior to release, although the web-series 'Really Rainbow High' shows us those large doll characters are actually 3rd Years at RH :)
I dont have kids. However, my sister actively avoids slime toys for her kids. Almost every parent I know does from their funiture being ruined from back when everything was slime. As for myself, I stopped collecting as soon as they changed the box. I got invested mostly because the og box let me do slanted displays where i could see them all without opening them or having them take up a ton of space. Instead of 5 side to side i could angle them and fit 8 amd i could see the side of them too with the curved "window".
Well, no one can say you held back because you got PR. 😀 I’m not sure what kind of reaction MGA was expecting from teen or adult collectors. Maybe they think they only made small changes, but they make a huge difference to older customers. If they can sell more to kids and be more profitable I guess I can’t begrudge their business decision. Maybe that will give them some revenue to start another line.
i never hated amaya, but i definitely loved poppy a lot and i'm sad to see she's been booted with this new rebrand :(( even with all the dolls i've gotten from the different series and my limited space, s1 poppy is still on display on my shelf! not really a fan of this rebrand, the slime aspect failed them before and i'm guessing it'll fail them again. i do think they were running out of ideas on names of RH/SH, but they were still producing gorgeous dolls and i'm going to miss it. interested to see what time will tell about this line. in 20 years, will people fondly remember it and ask for a reboot?
even when i was a kid i allways hated when dolls had litle articlations and and one thing i rember as a kid i allways complained about the the fashion on barbie dolls the clothes were cheap made and anoyyed me so much. when i found out about rainbow high and it was when they were fairly new, i was so happy they were fashion they had articaltion they were pretty and didnt have grainy ass faces like the barbie dolls. I loved the diffrent skin colors and i loved shadow high and still do. im a teen now and sometimes i do still play with my dolls and ya it anoyys me seeing these amazing dolls go downhill. And as a person who's fav color is orange and hated that rainbow silvers whatever loser i am in the sadness realm about lossing my dear poppy.
People don't take older kids like you into consideration at all when they talk about doll lines changing to cater to younger kids. Sure, adult collectors might not be the target audience and we can always choose to focus on pricier collector dolls made for us, but I feel like Rainbow High was the only line that was meant for the audience between young child and adult. Lots of tweens and teens like you loved the line from what I could see in stores and online, and now there's not really any other doll brand for y'all to go to. I'm sorry :(
Rainbow High is officially going downhill. This shows it. Another example is the RH dollhouse. MGA redid it and it has fewer pieces and it is just a cheap budget version of the real/original dollhouse (but at the same price, of course). Then there are the re-release of the dolls in a budget version which have no elbow/hand/knee articulation. I've been collecting dolls long enough to see that this is the beginning of the end. Like you said with G2 Monster High. They created younger, 'prettier' faces for them, and ditched the articulation, and cut characters out. People quit buying MH and MH was euthanized. It's sad to see that that's what MGA is seeming to choose as the RH line's future. I could not handle your blurring out Amaya, I was ugly laughing at that.
@@OfficialSparklyPig this WHOLE outrage. You people are forgetting that kids LOVE slime and bright colors and glitter. And tbh g2 is WAAAAY better than g3. I'm so sick of you fuckin idiots u people get mad at the WRONG shit
I laughed so much, when you blurred out Amaya on the back of the box. xD I really always hated her and now she looks even worse. But every time I go to my local toy store, there's always at least one kid begging her mom to buy her "the cute rainbow doll" ... >_> Poppy and Skyler were always my favorites but I really don't like the glitter faces.
I love the previously existing Amaya dolls and I still lmao when he blurred out her face, it made his disdain for her so obvious. I don’t really understand why they had to push her into the main cast or make her hair pink.
Honestly, she's not that bad, I'd like this as a kid. As for the slime shoes and mold, you can just coat the inside with translucent glue and put dry glitter in there for a similar glittery platform effect. Same with the pet's head and bag
tbh a little water + food colouring could also have a cool effect, as long as the seal is tight enough. if they don't pop open, it'd be like it has a liquid core. then of course, it'd be cooler if it just came like that already, lol
I think a better question than "Would i like this as a kid?" Is, "would I choose this one over the other dolls if I was a child?" Cause I wasn't out here getting every single doll, kids have to choose, and I know I wouldn't pick this line. Not when there are other dolls with prettier clothing and more articulation around. The pets are also really ugly...
@@luizabiancooh the only kind of doll I got as a kid were blond barbie knock-offs, I didn't even have a choice X) so I guess an even better question would be "would my parents choose to buy this for me over other dolls". which is. probably a no
this is different, this is not something that has to do with nostalgia, it's just MGA wanting to cut corners for whatever reason, using a theme that already died in 2019
In my honest opinion, Rainbow High were the few pre teen ish brands left. Not just with the quality of the dolls but the whole atmosphere were trying to cater to that audience. Maybe the dolls were probably a kids introduction into the creative arts like fashion design, animation, film, music production and etc. Even with the episodes, it was pretty dramatic and could have explored characters who were rumored to be lgbt. Now it’s just that the Tween market is getting smaller and smaller, it’s just what can this audience even get when the brand is now trying to target a very much younger demographic.
It’s becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy that tweens don’t play with dolls. Of course they don’t, all the toymakers that could be targetting them avoid them like the plague!
Ok so like I guess I get why they took the wrist articulation away if they’re try to make it more “little kid friendly”or whatever, but what possible reason could they have for getting rid of the part where the leg could twist?? Makes no sense. Also yikes, for a fashion doll she sure isn’t fashionable (looks like something a Barbie extra doll would wear 😖)
I hate when companies do this. Sure, maybe to appeal to the parents, but to the real people who will be getting them(kids, collectors, etc.) it won’t do so well. I have been a fan of RH since they started making them, and I honestly think they shouldn’t have done this. It’s so bad that I don’t think I would even want to buy these anymore. The slime gimmick is kind of unappealing, due to the microplastics(glitter) that they’re literally just handing to kids. I hate having to see pointless or bad reboots/rebrands, but this one is probably one of the worst that I’ve seen so far. MGA needs to literally rethink this again, because if they won’t, they’ll most likely get bashed HARD for this.
The censoring of Amaya on the back of the box 🥴💀🤣 I actually like this Skyler's outfit but I will be buying the last ones of the pre-reboot dolls that I like and call it a day on this brand.
I hate the rebrand. They took amazing dolls and made them worse. I just started collecting dolls and I was building my Miniverse around Rainbow High, and I'm now very upset that I made that decision. Also, Poppy was my favorite =(
This is first time seeing this rebranding RH REVIEW. I have heard a lot of controversy over this…but this review helps me making the decision of my collection. I don’t mind with less articulation-but seeing the fashion and the sparkle on the face is pretty concerning. I have completed my 4 of these 14” dolls with no articulation - I j use threw away that slime. I may buy that last batch to bid farewell from my very beginning to the ending of my collection. I will start focusing on Bratz to complete my collection plus all these more reproductions that I will continue collecting on this doll brand. It has been good 3 years of RH/SH collection. I will miss them for sure.
Her makeup is cute but the glitter face might be a deal breaker for me. My runway Skyler's forehead is already reflecting every light source in the room in a distracting way. I don't like the loss of articulation either. It seems like this would have been series 1 of Rainbow High since they are leaning so hard into the poopsie slime and sparkles. I wonder if this was an early concept that had gotten left on the cutting room floor until now.
Thank you for the review. I really like the slime girls colouring and the wide eyebrows because they are on trend now. What I don't like is lack of usual wrist and hip articulation, facial glitter, silly footwear and useless accessories I think they are budget line though. I am hoping MGA will bring out something special later in the year. I have only just began collecting these dolls and I hope I am not too late. After this review I bought Pacific Coast Bella (second hand) and Margot (new) as I fear they will be difficult to get soon. Watched your video about washing doll's hair and will be washing Bella soon :)
Something that I never understood by Rainbow High is the articulation of their bodies, MGA cannot simply put elbows and knees of normal label on the wrists? It seems incredible that in the middle of 2023 they cannot make a knees that bend and turn, to the articulated body bootlegs have that joint. Also I think this slime doll idea would have worked better with DreamElla but MGA decided to cancel that line when it was the one that really needed a rebrand unlike Rainbow High which was fine, maybe no longer include a second outfit but I could live with that, not another doll with boring clothes and a horrible looking slime pet.
Damn, I was impressed by the comments section, MOST people are smart and not bending over backwards to justify MGA because of their pwecious one-color girls. 😂 Though not nearly enough are talking about the Settla Brown comparison! But on a more serious note, I still don’t understand what happened that’s making everyone talk down to kids lately. Age groups between toddlers and adults are allowed to exist and have good things. Crappy fandom and my financial situation aside, I just don’t care about fashion. My wardrobe is 95% jeans and T-shirts, so I can’t feel much for a franchise that’s purely about the clothes. But if that does matter to any fans who aren’t terrible, what’s left after this?
It’s kinda weird how every 3 years or so, mga starts rebranding their dolls and starts simplifying and kidifying everything, idk if they do that to cut on cost or they’re allocating their funds into other projects buy girl it’s NAWT it 😭
Why dosen’t MGA create another doll line for kids, or still keep rainbow high but add another kiddie line like the way the added shadow high? This is kinda pointless
Ugh, that skirt is just a damaged foil fabric, it's going to shed everywhere. I think Sunny's transition would be the easiest since her personality is very kid friendly. Ruby & Jade though will need to be lobotomized to fit into Rainbow World. P. S. RIP Poppy, I'll miss her monarch butterfly theme(Amaya better not absorb her essence like she did Bella).
Honestly I like her! I kind of like the glitter face, better than the shimmer face to me And her screening is beautiful and the clothes are fine. I don't particularly care about the main 6 though, I try to only have 1 of each character so if they only release the same characters over and over I'm done with RH!
I feel like the glitter could work of it's a special edition sort of line.. like a "crystal christmas" line or whatever. But for the main 6's reboot dolls.. I'm so scared for the other dolls now
As an Amaya lover myself, Poppy should have been there 💔 I will probably still buy these dolls but they should revert back to their "old" ways (hate how I have to call it old now) 😞 This is my favorite doll line I don't wanna see it downgrade... ig if it does get worse and worse ig I still have Monster High and Lol :( Skyler also isn't my favorite character but her and Sunny's new dolls are the best :D
Yeah, this rebrand isn’t going to work the way they think it will. I don’t understand why MGA is so into slime, especially when the slime isn’t great quality
You can buy slime separately so why mix it with dolls? If the skirt was a regular mini skirt I’d think it would be cute, the jacket isn’t a Skylar piece but I kinda like it and I like the hairstyle and the face (minus the glitter). I might actually buy the Sunny doll myself. But I miss the high fashion (way too much), why not make up new pets for the girls and give them pet accessories (and cellphones)? Why bring back poopsie? If I buy Sunny I might use markers or paint for the clear accessories and then I’d buy slime from a trusted source, keeping it away from my doll because I’m don’t want to ruin her on purpose.
My god. My girl. The shade. Thank you for keeping it real. I actually kinda like her face and hair blend and her overall lack of denim, my girl needed that. But holy fucking shit. Thank you for saying it how it is. Jr high vibes.
Ohhh sht bringing mh g2 into it. Keeping it COMPLETELY real, thank you for the actual honest review. on god. Like how hard is it to pay attention to previous missteps? Don’t fix something that isn’t broken.
i’m actually really upset about this, the fashion and high quality of their dolls, and high moveability was the main reason i fell in love with the brand i always hated dolls like barbie because they felt supper stiff. i also really hate slime and i knoe kids are going to end up ruining the dolls hair and legit everything else because that’s all slime is good for also no doubt this will make them lose money, an adult collector has no problem spending upwards of 40 bucks on a thing they’re missing in their collection (hell hardcore collectors are willing to spend 300+ if you market it right) but most people with children aren’t going to spend 40 dollars on a doll especially for a younger child because they lose interest in toys so fast. i’m suprised company’s don’t learn from monster high especially the gen 2 dolls, they were so low quality especially when we were used to the high quality gen 1 dolls no way they sold well
Happy to have found your channel. As a casual collector of Rainbow High, I'm on the fence right now about the rebrand. I do like the pets. Justice for Poppy! Orange is a healing color!
Welp!! I’m done…..these are absolutely for children now. The glitter skin😬😬😬😬 as a kid, I wasn’t allowed to have slime or playdoh because of how messy they are…..who knows🤷🏻♂️ it’s honestly up to the parents to decide if they have kids that can handle the slime 🤣 I do think the RH jr high pajama party dolls are cute though
I LOVE YOU BLURRING OUT AMAYA, YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! POPPY IS BETTER. Also, I came from your one singular Jem video, she is STUNNING! Do you still have her, or possibly plan on giving her a makeover? Gotta get Jems name out there, I’ve tried but the RUclips algorithm doesn’t like me! You’re a way bigger channel, and you could do it better than I ever could. I make stopmotions, but I don’t think people really like those anymore, like I can’t find my target audience. IM SUPER SORRY FOR THE LONG COMMENT!! ALSO I DO NOT LIKE WHY THEY ARE GETTING RID IF THE ARTICULATION! WHY!!!!! THAT IS WHAT MADE ME BUY THEM! THEIR CUSTOMERS ARE GONNA BE DROPPING LIKE FLIES!! ANYWAYS IM A PROUD FAN OF YOURS!!! 💞💞🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I've been watching unboxing videos of these dolls today, and I realized something; mine didn't come with the crystal shaker. Nope, mine all came with a clear plastic gem shaped thing filled with incredibly sticky slime.
Well there goes Rainbow High, won''t be getting these new ones. I'm just gonna focus on finishing my collection of the old ones and then I am done. Sad to see these dolls turn to crap, I hope MGA realizes the terrible mistake they made
Damn from designer outfits to greta thunberg eco friendly plastic bags, I mean where's the fashion??? Where's the sass and fierce?? I could pass anything but tinsel and glitter?? winx wants their fairy dust back and also the pet doesn't even have insert eyes!!!!! like that thing is a failed pokemon experiment............. good for me I guess at least I will save money for sure🌈
Thanks for a honest review. I'm not mad at the idea, but this would've been a been reboot for the junior line. Maybe they should have just gotten rid of the junior high line altogether. Just keep the original line the same. Hopefully, this isn't a permit change.
As a parent, I will not be buying any of these dolls with slime. Both slime and kinetic sand are outlawed in my house. Slime is horrible, messy stuff that ruins clothing and furniture and carpets. Nope...nope...nope.
This doll is almost exactly the same as a 2019 poopsie rainbow surprise 14 inch doll. The hair is the same and the shoes to with the slime is nearly exactly the same. How strange.
i'm so confused, do they not realise who their audience is? like us girlies wanna buy them for the fierce and the fashion! like the slime thing is so overdone? the pets... bitch no! and like all the glitter? like why? they fumbled hard when they removed the second outfit thing and now we get this... like i get that it was meant for kids but the detail and the fashion they put into the first ones was just too good and they shifted their audience from kids to collectors without realising. but now they are trying to focus on kids again for whatever reason and i think that might be their dowfall ngl... i would say stock up on the previous series and treasure them cause this is gonna flop...
Your commentary and editing are so funny lol! As for the new direction, I hate the lack of articulation and the slime gimmick, but I actually think the dolls themselves are very pretty! I'm looking forward to getting Sunny, Jade, and Amaya.
Honestly shes my fave I will get her. Her outfit is VERY Y2K and maybe Sonny. But yeah a bit too young for me. Hopefully this won’t last but this is my first time following a full life span of a Doll line. I MISS POPPY!!
i actually love the glitter on the faces!! i do however think this shouldve been done with the junior high bodies since this line is for a younger audience, leave the main girlies alone !
I allowed my 6, 9 and 11 year old daughters to watch this review to show them the new Rainbow High dolls. The 11 yr old said...." WHY?!". The 9 year old said..."Um....Boo is right" and the 6 yr old gave a thumbs down. So...my cliffnote version is : ???? Why...just why? Boo. Edit: Our household has around 25+ rainbow high dolls ( mine included).
This is actually how I imagined rainbow high to be when series 1 got leaked. I’m not entirely mad about it but the budget cuts are annoying to see once again.
I said it before and i'll say it agaun. Slime is the worst gimmick a brand can have next to 💩. RIP Rainbow High, you were beautiful while you lasted Also, this is just telling me i should pick up some RH dolls while they're still on the shelf

RIP, Poppy :( glad you don't have to experience the brand slowly getting butchered tho
Poppy, you left our lives too soon. You were so cute with your butterfly aesthetic and headphones… Gone way too soon
You don’t know how much I appreciate you not kissing MGA’s ass when they send you PR ❤.
I'm curious if they'll even be allowed to sell in EU-countries because loose glitter has been banned for a little over a month now 🤔
I wouldn't mind not seeing these in stores, but oh well...
So yeah, it's entirely possible these dolls won't even show up in the EU and like you, I'm not mad about it 🤣
@@stranavolpe It would surprise me if these are biodegradable but the wrist articulation was too high of a cost XD
@@stranavolpeloose plastic particles is actually really evil for the environment. It's good that it's forbidden....
As a monster high fan, rainbow high was our only competition, now mh is on top again 😂
This will be their second rebranding which is crazy. They originally came out as larger dolls with slime elements, I don't understand why they are going back to slime. Slime toys have had their time and gone :s
I hate that they are now losing articulation as well!
The screening (minus the glitter on the face) is actually super pretty
I agree! And her hair color is pretty
i never hated amaya, but i definitely loved poppy a lot and i'm sad to see she's been booted with this new rebrand :(( even with all the dolls i've gotten from the different series and my limited space, s1 poppy is still on display on my shelf! not really a fan of this rebrand, the slime aspect failed them before and i'm guessing it'll fail them again. i do think they were running out of ideas on names of RH/SH, but they were still producing gorgeous dolls and i'm going to miss it. interested to see what time will tell about this line. in 20 years, will people fondly remember it and ask for a reboot?
even when i was a kid i allways hated when dolls had litle articlations and and one thing i rember as a kid i allways complained about the the fashion on barbie dolls the clothes were cheap made and anoyyed me so much. when i found out about rainbow high and it was when they were fairly new, i was so happy they were fashion they had articaltion they were pretty and didnt have grainy ass faces like the barbie dolls.
I'm sorry :(
Good thing they got a rebrand now I can focus on buying the already released dolls I couldn't find in store
How?? I'm curious 🤨
How to which part?@@Put_down_dem_perkies
I wonder if they have rainbows glitter for amaya
I agreed. I have all colored glues-I think it’s good idea to explore this options to make this more attractive. Thanks for the input!
tbh a little water + food colouring could also have a cool effect, as long as the seal is tight enough. if they don't pop open, it'd be like it has a liquid core. then of course, it'd be cooler if it just came like that already, lol
@@luizabiancooh the only kind of doll I got as a kid were blond barbie knock-offs, I didn't even have a choice X) so I guess an even better question would be "would my parents choose to buy this for me over other dolls". which is. probably a no
I never collected MH, but now I understand how they feel and I’d like to formally apologize to anyone I accused of being blinded by nostalgia 😭😭
Same🙃
this is different, this is not something that has to do with nostalgia, it's just MGA wanting to cut corners for whatever reason, using a theme that already died in 2019
I wouldn’t call it rebranding, I’d call it regressing. We’re back to the Rainbow Surprise dolls after how amazing the dolls had been :/
In my honest opinion, Rainbow High were the few pre teen ish brands left.
Saving money--fewer pieces to cast and assemble at the factory.
@@linphillips8331 yeah I guess that would be it :/
I meant more what excuse would they give to explain it though
You can feel the fight to keep the MGA sponsioring wvile being honest on the review...
Nah idc lolz
I think Bluebell is a Narwhal. Not that it matters since it's hideous no matter what it is.
Thank you for not holding back. 🗣🗣
And just like that... I stopped buying Rainbow high dolls. Why is MGA rebranding I mean if it ain't broke don't fix it. 🤢
I hate the rebrand. They took amazing dolls and made them worse. I just started collecting dolls and I was building my Miniverse around Rainbow High, and I'm now very upset that I made that decision. Also, Poppy was my favorite =(
I’m really happy that you have an honest review and that you didn’t hold back because you got a PR. I think she is a 6/10
This is first time seeing this rebranding RH REVIEW.
If the outfits don't serve, I'm not buying 🙅
Though not nearly enough are talking about the Settla Brown comparison!
The articulation was one of the reasons I got into these dolls, like with monster high
Not the lobotomy. They’re gonna start eating mulch. 😭😭😭😭
2:33 The blurring 😂
Honestly I like her! I kind of like the glitter face, better than the shimmer face to me
And her screening is beautiful and the clothes are fine.
I don't particularly care about the main 6 though, I try to only have 1 of each character so if they only release the same characters over and over I'm done with RH!
a doll brand not being fashion forward in this day and age is a deathwish.
Okay she's kinda the moment if you throw everything she came with out the window😍😍💙💙 I will be patiently awaiting your Ruby review 👀🥰💖
Re dressing time😝
Hard no to all the reboot dolls. I need the articulation and I miss the second outfits 😞
I feel like the glitter could work of it's a special edition sort of line.. like a "crystal christmas" line or whatever. But for the main 6's reboot dolls.. I'm so scared for the other dolls now
I just don't understand what is the fun with filling thinks with slime? I mean, why would that be something kids would want to do with slime???
As an Amaya lover myself, Poppy should have been there 💔 I will probably still buy these dolls but they should revert back to their "old" ways (hate how I have to call it old now) 😞 This is my favorite doll line I don't wanna see it downgrade... ig if it does get worse and worse ig I still have Monster High and Lol
:(
Skyler also isn't my favorite character but her and Sunny's new dolls are the best :D
It's interesting how a doll can not be that good and be a flop then people still get them and restyle them and give them a whole new life ✨
At least it gives me time to collect the rest of the original ones
MGA is on a kick right now of getting rid of articulation in the wrists! 🎉😂🎉😂🎉 speak on it omg
Ohhh sht bringing mh g2 into it. Keeping it COMPLETELY real, thank you for the actual honest review. on god. Like how hard is it to pay attention to previous missteps? Don’t fix something that isn’t broken.
THE BLURRING OF THE RAINBOW HAIR GIRL SENT ME 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
i’m actually really upset about this, the fashion and high quality of their dolls, and high moveability was the main reason i fell in love with the brand i always hated dolls like barbie because they felt supper stiff. i also really hate slime and i knoe kids are going to end up ruining the dolls hair and legit everything else because that’s all slime is good for
also no doubt this will make them lose money, an adult collector has no problem spending upwards of 40 bucks on a thing they’re missing in their collection (hell hardcore collectors are willing to spend 300+ if you market it right) but most people with children aren’t going to spend 40 dollars on a doll especially for a younger child because they lose interest in toys so fast. i’m suprised company’s don’t learn from monster high especially the gen 2 dolls, they were so low quality especially when we were used to the high quality gen 1 dolls no way they sold well
Happy to have found your channel. As a casual collector of Rainbow High, I'm on the fence right now about the rebrand. I do like the pets. Justice for Poppy! Orange is a healing color!
As my mother puts it. "Slime is never good." RIP Rainbow High.
I work at TK Maxx (TJ Max’s British version) we had quite a few Poppy’s in stock, then she just VANISHED. Now I think I know why
I love that you tell your honest opinion and not just say nice things because MGA gave them to you ❤
Stop bullying amaya pls 😂😂😂😂 that was the best part of the video xDD
I've been watching unboxing videos of these dolls today, and I realized something; mine didn't come with the crystal shaker. Nope, mine all came with a clear plastic gem shaped thing filled with incredibly sticky slime.
you have the european version. due to the laws on toys here the slime is pre made
Well there goes Rainbow High, won''t be getting these new ones.
Read them downnnnnn‼️‼️‼️‼️
Thanks for a honest review. I'm not mad at the idea, but this would've been a been reboot for the junior line. Maybe they should have just gotten rid of the junior high line altogether. Just keep the original line the same. Hopefully, this isn't a permit change.
NOOO!! Rest in peace. Slime and glitter, ugh! May as well go back to selling the pooping unicorns.
As a parent, I will not be buying any of these dolls with slime. Both slime and kinetic sand are outlawed in my house. Slime is horrible, messy stuff that ruins clothing and furniture and carpets. Nope...nope...nope.
I can't believe they sent out pr on this nightmare. Just pack it in MGA, you abandoned adult collectors.
I only collect Amaya's and Poppy's lmao. If any of the dolls had a boring fashion sense, it's Violet. There. I said it.
How is the rainbow complete without orange, poppy?
Omg the powder bag comment!!!!! 😂 💀
"Setlla".....😂😂😂😂😂 I'm DONE!!!!
1:48 it's a yeti, or at least the creature whose sculpt it reuses is ;)
The reboots are horrible. Why take something that was fashion forward and baby them up?
Your commentary and editing are so funny lol! As for the new direction, I hate the lack of articulation and the slime gimmick, but I actually think the dolls themselves are very pretty! I'm looking forward to getting Sunny, Jade, and Amaya.
Honestly shes my fave I will get her. Her outfit is VERY Y2K and maybe Sonny. But yeah a bit too young for me. Hopefully this won’t last but this is my first time following a full life span of a Doll line. I MISS POPPY!!
I feel like the shaker should have been the place to store your slime and not the pet…
Also now that you mention it wouldn’t mold actually be an issue when you’re putting slime in random toy accessories
i actually love the glitter on the faces!! i do however think this shouldve been done with the junior high bodies since this line is for a younger audience, leave the main girlies alone !
I allowed my 6, 9 and 11 year old daughters to watch this review to show them the new Rainbow High dolls. The 11 yr old said...." WHY?!". The 9 year old said..."Um....Boo is right" and the 6 yr old gave a thumbs down. So...my cliffnote version is :
????
Why...just why?
Boo.
Edit: Our household has around 25+ rainbow high dolls ( mine included).
Definitely kids are going to love these new dolls... collectors will stop collecting Rainbow High definitely nyo!
I blame victoria whitmann for this, this line really tried to be her so bad with the make up
This is actually how I imagined rainbow high to be when series 1 got leaked. I’m not entirely mad about it but the budget cuts are annoying to see once again.
Lmfaooooo im weak at your Blurring Her Out 😂
Lololololol i love this review, but hun, i dont think mga will ever send you dolls to review again!!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
So the new season is them getting high on glue guns at fashion school and thinking they now own pets that excrete slime?
I said it before and i'll say it agaun. Slime is the worst gimmick a brand can have next to 💩. RIP Rainbow High, you were beautiful while you lasted
Also, this is just telling me i should pick up some RH dolls while they're still on the shelf
Do you think MGA going to reboot the whole season or series like 1-5
I love the dollar and I love the slime.Rainbow high is the best number one
I’m still getting Sunny because I’ve made it a mission to own every Sunny doll. Can’t break the cycle.
No. (RIP POPPY YOU WERE MY FAV)
