This is so funny that I am watching you today. I’m retired now, but I spent many years working in the water and wastewater industries as a pump technician. I helped maintain the flood control system at a couple of small cities, a large coal mine and a huge destination water park. I worked on everything from small sump pumps, like you can find in many homes around the country, all the way up to huge flood control and plant supply pumps with tens of thousands of gallons per minute flow rates. Thanks for the blast from the past, Ed! I love what you and the gang do at Aquascape . If I ever decide to put in a decorative pond system, I’ll definitely be looking at your products, and your network of installers. (I’m retired, so I’ll leave that hard work to some younger folks now!)
Great video Ed I really appreciate you guys taking the time out of you're busy day to explain in great detail on aquascape pumps & how to choose the right pump for your water feature thanks
With smaller ponds I usually have higher turnover rates than a large pond. Large bodies of water are more stable than small…. I would use a minimum of 500 GPH
These tests are extremely good for all of us new people to pond building. Is this pump 220 volt compatible? I'm from South Africa, and I don't see these pumps by us.
Awesome! Thanks for the help. Just in time for me to finally purchase and install and also finish my hand dug 2500 gal pond. I've incorporated a 24in biofalls spillway and also a wetland filter that's going to consist of 9 small aqua blocks and a secondary spillway or fountain inside the wetland. I am going to buy an aquascape 400 skimmer to house the pump. My question to you ed the pond professor is will a aquasurge 5000 be sufficient to feed everything, and if not would that skimmer allow for two pumps to be used? Thanks for your knowledge and advice 🙏
love the comparasion, I knew the sump pump would not win was not sure about the other two. Could you compare DC pumps with adjustable speed to the AC adjustable drive pumps. Are they a viable option?
Do you guys want to see more pond experiments like this one?
I like anything that proves the quality and reliability of Aquascape products
Yes, please!!
Yes indeed! Great experiment breakdown. Thanks Ed!

One of my questions got answered watching the videos that is what the water dances out of the stacked slate urns and ball, thanks Ed.

Would love some more experiments. Just finishing up my pond and wanted to thank you and the team for all the info I used in creating my own pond.
How much turn over does a small 100 gal pond need only one red ear slider outdoors plants such later on in season so outside debries

Love the experiments. Definitely do more!!!
The Flowfriend pumps Aquascapes Australia sell are amazingly quiet, low wattage and mega flow… One of the best pumps we have tested.

Great explanation!
Great info!
Great video, thanks
Hey Ed, do you guys sell an equivalent AquaSurge 5000 pump for, say, I don't know... a 200 gallon pond? Perhaps an AquaSurge 200? 😁
First
👏👏👏
Thanks for watching!!!
