Thumbs up for 1Js! Sounds like the MAF sensor is acting up and needs a replacement. I recommend grabbing a few out of some 2.5L N/A Subarus from a pick-n-pull. You might need a few of them before you find one that the ECU will "like".
Thanks for the help! I’ve been thinking it was the IACV for the high idle and maybe plugs and coil packs and wires for the misfire. Have you had similar issues with the MAF sensor?
Yes. I own a JZS171 and have had to replace a few MAF sensors. As Derek mentioned, the 1JZ ECU can be picky and might not like the first MAF you throw in. I have a spare in the car and a few in my toolbox...just in case.
@jacobnienau1963 also...replace your coil pack connectors (there are quite a few shops in North America that stock them). ...and replace your wire set while you're in there: NGK make a set for the IS300 that work just fine.

B-pillar trim is actually factory! They are from a series 1 "exciting package" jzx100 chaser, which also had a darker tone s1 interior
