Especially interesting would be Texas. If a Democrat wins the governorship there in '26, which I doubt, I should think that would bode well for Dems to carry it in the '28 Presidential race.
@TheBrooklynbodine Depends on who's president. If Biden is president, Republicans should pick up the open seats in Wiscpnsin and Kansas and could maybe topple Hobbs in Arizona. However, nobody is beating Shapiro and I can't imagine Gilchrist losing in Michigan either. Democrats could maybe win the open seat in Georgia if Ossoff (who definitely will win reelection) has a coattail effect.
If DeSantis is president, Democrats will very likely win the open seat in Georgia and would stand likely to hold Wisconsin also. Lombardo wouldn't be likely to win reelection in Nevada either. Kansas would still probably flip red at the end because it's a red state. Meanwhile, if Trump is president, or if he was president and was impeached and convicted, Democrats hold every seat, including Kansas, and beat Lombardo in Nevada and win Georgia. Ohio and Iowa might even be competitive in such a scenario. Possibly even Alaska although that's a little optimistic.

Also, Democrats may do well to look at Andy Beshear as a potential presidential candidate, assuming he has presidential aspirations. He's a Southern moderate, and that has proven successful in the past.
Great Video!!!
Thank you

Could you do a 2026 governor race prediction? Curious soon
