  • Damien Rice - Prague - Live at Saschall Theater-Florence, Italy, March 12 2004.
    Taper: Jon Koch Uploader: Cts
    Lyrics:
I pack my suit in a bag
I'm all dressed up for prague
I'm all dressed up with you
All dressed up for him too...
    Prepare myself for a war
BeforeI even open up my door
    BeforeI even look out
I'm pissing all of my bullets about...
    Wrap myself in a bag
I'm all wrapped up in prague
I'm all wrapped up in you
I'm all wrapped up in him too
    Prepare myself for a war
And I don't know what i'm doing this for
Trying to let it all go
But how can I when you still don't know?
    I could wait for you
Like that hole in your boot
    Waiting to be fixed
    I could wait for you
    What good would that do
    But to leave me pricked?
    Cheers darlin'
Here's to you and your lover
    ...darling
    I got years...
Pack my suit in a bag
    Pack myself in a bag
Pack my suit in a bag
    All dressed up for Prague
Pack my suit in a bag
    All dressed up for
    All dressed up for
    All dressed up for

This is a very expressive and impressive live version. Someone should have given the soundy an outboard distortion unit to blend in, but fuck the performance couldn’t be better.

So gutted- the iTunes version doesn't include this track- what's that about!? Love the song though, especially how it harks back to "Cheers Darlin'" from earlier in the album. O is a total masterpiece.

@ctsyt agreed. one of the best songs hes ever written, and its rarely played or mentioned with thinking of damien rice. i mho this song is about a crazy evening sharing his lover(threesome), knowing that he is slowly loosing her to the other lover. dressing (wrapping up=dressing up= condoms). prepare for a war, the act of making love. at the end, heres to you and your lover... sooooo powerful.

It's nuts. This song is about the wedding of the girl she loves, that one she met in a bar in "Cheers, Darling".

No, this song is connected to "Cheers, Darling", as a sequence of it. The "war" he is going to is the wedding of the girl she loves, the same one with whom he talked to in the bar in "Cheers, darling".

I like the song idea and the execution. As far for critique, the chorus is a bit heavy in the instrumental and I would like to hear more words
