- Gothic Ambient I: Citadel of Azun is a 1 hour journey of illuminated chants in the embrace of ethereal soundscapes. The traveller enters the Citadel of Azun, a thousand-year old giant citadel-church, built to honor the path of the Righteous. Inspired by Warhammer 40.000, Lord of the Rings, Dark Souls, Elden Ring.

This track comes from "Trichurch of Katehon", new album by Monasterium Imperi. An immersive ambiental journey into the distant world, where colossal shrines resonate of hymns to the Supreme One. Ancient hieropriests of Katehon lament and rejoice upon ethereal soundscapes, echoing through the Sky-Atrium. The traveller enters the Citadel of Azun, a thousand-year old giant citadel-church, built to honor the path of the Righteous. Empty halls, from which the Forgotten Kings once ruled the Dominion, now serve as sacred places of worship. Soulships are arriving from the north bringing the "Last One-hundred", group of remaining pilgrims who visit from the distant places.
Musically, it can be described as dark ambient rich with dark choirs, nostalgic gregorian-lke chants and long & atmospheric, ethereal pads.

The work is partially and indirectly inspired by the fascinating Warhammer 40,000 universe and lore. It may as well serve as a soundtrack when reading the literature/playing the game/praying to the Emperor or pondering about the Grimdark future. Aside from that, it does not represent a direct, straightforward building up upon the lore, and is in no way affiliated with GW and related trademarks.

When I'm looking for ethereal ambience THIS is what I mean. Wow. Just wow. I get very easily distracted by music but this stuff completely puts me in the zone for reading, sleeping, creating or simply relaxing. It's like you truly put some divine essence into this.
Beautiful, peaceful and haunting, it makes you to travel in dreamy and distant places. May the Emperor guide your inspiration and mind for even more greater musical composition.

I was thinking of how many people could have had their lives changed if only for a day if this was available pre youtube. The only thing we had was a program on public radio called Hearts of Space and it only came on Sunday nights. I used to tape it with my tape recorder as a child because there was no cds and it sure didnt come out on tape or Emperor forbid vinyl.
