@@toylover1793I have never seen the dancing mechanism in this Santa I know the one that has the head stationary while going side to side while the body dances I'd like to see what the mechanism looks like In this model!
Amazing to see you got one of these I have the earlier version with the separate body dancing and the Walmart box mine had a locked up motor and a split gear in the head and the button was pushed in these models Of the Santas are definitely very cool
Weird thing about the glitch lol. And I liked how you titled that video very clever! Lol! It's too bad that the one song doesn't work with the IC. Really good version of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.
@ could we be friends? Also you're so darn lucky I want the rare version so badly but I don't know anybody that has one that doesn't use it then I could have. I have been wanting it for so many years and it makes me sad that I can't find it
You should cut the body shell so it doesn’t get stuck as much, I’m not sure how much you’d have to cut it on this one but if it wouldn’t be too much it’ll make it work so much nicer
I recently got the model before this one (the one where the head doesn't move with the body) and its honestly built so flawed. Im glad they changed the mechanism because the body shell keeps slamming into the beard when he looks left and right, so I rarely get to activate him. Also, the neck is very unfinished and scrappy at the back, because they cut it way to high up, causing the mouth mechanism to be to high up for the mouth to move. It may be a factory defect but I'm not sure. I ended up having to modify the mouth mech so now it works. It did come with all its original packaging and was allegedly only used for one Christmas season.
wow, What an interesting story! I've never seen a sancta glitch as bad as that! I do agree with you that this model is the greatest. how do you feel about high pitch he is? and also, does he have a speed dial?
Yeah, I was shocked the first time it happened lol. Personally, I love the high pitch, even thought it doesn’t exactly sound like what you’d expect Santa to sound like. And yes, he has a speed dial, but this is literally the slowest he can move without getting stuck 😂. I spent a long time adjusting it and eventually settled for exactly where the factory had set it.
@@toylover1793I have never seen the transmission of this Santa! This is the second one with the head swaying with the transmission under the shoulders! I hope to see it in another video!

The first one had battery corrosion and 2 split gears, and the skin needed cleaning, I replaced the gears and cleaned the battery compartment and skin, and it now fully works, the second one... oh boy, everything inside it was shattered, all the gears were split and all the wires were off, it also had demon spider eggs and toxic brown stains all over it, it took me 3 weeks to clean the skin and I got a rash all over my arms, but eventually I cleaned the skin and let it dry, at first I thought the shattered parts were impossible to repair but suddenly some FAIRY GOD PARENTS!!! showed up and I wished for the pieces to go un-shattered, I replaced every gear and the speaker, and I soldered every wire back in and now it's good as new, the 3rd version needed no repairs thankfully, the 4th version just needed a split 8 tooth gear replacement and a wire soldered back in the battery compartment and it now works. All 4 of these items are awesome and definitely some of my favorites in my collection! Thanks for checking out the video! Hope you enjoyed! They have this at my school they put it out in the history hallway every Christmas season but I never knew what it did cuz they don’t put batteries in it
I remember when I got this model for Christmas in 2015 after my flat base model snapped in half. I used to like to ‘hug’ it from dancing so much that one day it stopped and had smoke coming from the bottom of the base… yeah pretty stupid but hey we learn lmao
Dang lol, sorry to hear about that but that’s crazy. It sounds like the speed dial needed to be adjusted a little lol, I probably should do that with mine too.
I've always disliked how the dancing motion was always so loud on these older models, and that IC chip glitch is crazy because when the original owners first got this in stores, did they really stick with the one with a permanent glitch? But its so cool.. The clear, classic Gemmy instrumentals and the high pitched voice is all great, like why did they go with such a deep ass voice later on, I wonder?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I’m surprised the original owner didn’t try to return it or anything. I mean, this was basically brand new in the box when I got it, so I don’t think they used it much. And I agree, this audio is a million times better at this pitch
That’s what I was thinking too, I actually expected this to be the one with that weird dancing mechanism (that’s the way my 2002 4ft model is) but I guess they made both models the same year.
My aunt used to have this exact model & every single time on Jingle Bells it would glitch out when he was supposed to say “oh jingle bells” it would stop and make an awful noise and then eventually keep singing. So weird.
That’s so strange. I’m sure you saw in the description, mine used to do a similar thing during “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”. I wonder what causes these weird glitches
I found a 1st generation 4ft Santa by me for $10, and as of me typing this I’ll be picking him up this weekend. He’s in very shit condition though, ive repaired worse (take my Grandma’s Harold Gale Santa for example). He doesn’t dance and he’s DIRTY (its really bad, the white fur on his vest is dark grey)
WHAT THE FUCK??? How tf can something have that bad of a programming error lmao, but at least he works now

You’re right but I’d rather keep it original lol.
I also probably would have to cut a lot, the body shell is so long and skinny for some reason
