I hate blaming the refs for a loss, but that game was terrible. Cross-checking on Matthews, Fehérváry defending with no helmet, and a ref redirecting a clear right to Washington for the winning goal. GG Caps, you looked good out there.
@@LeafsJellyHD I don't know how you do it, but Joe Bowen, better highlights and faster than Sportsnet or NHL! Best Leafs highlights on RUclips, thanks for all the great work.

Joe Bowen being an unapologetic homer is a lot of fun to listen to, though this game definitely had some reasons for leafs fans to be upset lol. I can't believe they just kept making bad decisions. The moment JT pushed the helmet off the defender, they should've given him a penalty. The moment the Cap stayed they should have given him a penalty. The moment the ref pushed the puck into the center of the crease, should've blown it dead. There was a great example of cowardice when officiating. You can't be afraid out there, and stripes clearly was terrified of something. Like blow the whistle bud.

On April 23, 1964 the Leafs were playing the Red Wings and were down 2 to one. The Leafs tied the game. There are 2 many linesmen and refs on the ice…put the linesman in the stands. Sh it happens it normally doesn’t but these zebras are bound to get in the way with such a fast game. Where’s OV?
NHL refs are just complete garbage at this point. I'd rather have the players call their own penalties as it would at least be much fairer because, if a player didn't call his own penalty, there would be a way to bring him back in line. I've started to propose that, if a player/team really wanted to complain about a call, they could challenge the refs to a fight and the refs could pick which of the four would take the challenge. I hope everyone knows that most refs played upto and even in the NHL, so it's not like they don't know how to fight. lol I'm not saying the Leafs deserved to win this game because they actually didn't play well a lot of the time; however, the number of bad calls and non-calls that hurt the Leafs was astounding and not the only time. It's like the refs just decide who they want to win and work to make it happen and it's not just the Leafs who suffer from this favouritism; I've seen other non-Leafs games that were just as astrocious and, as far as I can see, there is no recourse to keep the refs from doing exactly as I described above, put their thumb on the scale, so to speak.
The Leafs need to think with their heads, not their muscles. As soon as they get scored on, they stop playing hockey and start wrestling, and that doesn't do them any credit.
