I ended up getting the standard cover. I’m hoping Marvel will reprint JMS’s Thor but make it an expanded edition & include Gillen’s stuff so that it’ll line up with this omnibus.

Just finished fractions run. It was incredible. Dont care what anyone says. And his ages of thunder one shots are some of the best thor stories ever told.

100% agree. Ages of Thunder is super underrated.
do you need to get Jason Aaron's work after this to continue the story, or does it end?
@@cv9340 Haven't read Aaron's run, but from what I understand it starts a new chapter that is not a direct continuation from this era.
@@cv9340 fractions run has an ending. And then aarons is a brand new jumping on point. Helps to know what happened in the jms run and seige that happened prior to fractions.
What a gorgeous omnibus. That epic looking art and cool cover might make it a worthwhile pickup alone.
Looking forward to this. I would also buy an expanded Thor by JMS / Gillen and Loki omnibus by Gillen.

Definitely picking this up, great review as always. Best Actual book review/comparison channel period. Some channels review the stories. This channel mostly does the book themselves. Which I love. (Though you guys do stories as well,which is great)

Prefect timing for me, I was just getting ready to do a Fear Itself-era reading across all the main Marvel titles.
I am very happy about this release. Several years ago I decided to try to collect every Thor series in collected editions but I had never read this run (stopped buying floppies after JMS left the book) and I was confused about how to collect it because of all of the events. I ended up not getting any of it. I hoped an omnibus might happen one day and now it is finally here.
I own the JMS Omni but I would absolutely buy an expanded reprint with the Gillen issues that picked up where he left off.

Just noticed that there is a spelling mistake on the dustjacket - should be Olivier not Olvier. Oops !
This was not on my radar, but damn that art looks amazing! I might have to squeeze this one into my June purchases. 🤔
They spelled Olivier wrong on the cover and spine by leaving out the first "i" and just putting Olvier. They have it correct on the credits pages.

I wasn't gonna get this one because I've heard the run isn't very good, but hey, screw it. I have (I think) every other Thor Omni so far, so there's no point in skipping one.
Also, good job on pronouncing "Olivier Coipel" correctly throughout the video. Finally, you did it!

No, it's not Olivier. It's Oliver and thus pronounced differently.

Ok so hang on: “Thor by Matt Fraction”…but includes some issues written by other writers? Good!
Now can Marvel stop this ridiculous thing where an entire run (of many creator led omnis) are missing a few issues because its written by someone else? 🤦🏼♂️

I didn’t have interest in this book until I saw it also collects fear itself so now I’m watching your video and I’ll see from your overview.
I did want to catch the fear itself story I never read.
A beautiful looking book, I will be interested in checking out the paper stock after a few disappointing recent releases. I wonder if a Marvel omni would look any better if they used the same printers DC does? (Would probably cost a bit more I guess.)

Looking at this one and the Brubaker DD volume, it seems Marvel is using the logos on the spines again (instead of the smaller fonts)

This will never equal Walt Simonsons run, Jason Aaron's God's of Thunder run but it's still good.
Hopefully gonna get Jason Aaron’s thor and if i enjoy that I’ll make my way back to something like this
In my humble opinion this omni was top notch right up until after 'fear itself'. After that it was a struggle to get through.
They should have done jms and gilleon run in one omnibus before this book came out
I was going to get this to read before my Jason Aaron Omni but if I have to also read the run before and then this I’ll have to skip unfortunately
Wake me up when Marvel decides to finally release a Matt Fraction Iron Man Omnibus. They never even finished the larger format hardcovers from all those years ago.

Knowing Omar, he would 100% suggest getting the Simonson Omnibus. It's one of the best Thor runs according to tons of Thor fans.
It looks like they mispelled Coipel's name on both the front cover and spine. It should be "Olivier", not "Olvier".

Are there issues missing between JMS’s run and this or does this bridge the gap? Or does the Journey Into Mystery Omnibus bridge that gap? I really hope they rerelease the JMS Thor omni soon. That’s a good run.

the ages of thunder and the galactus arcs were the best in this omni. there have been better end time surtur stories than this "everything burns."

This omni is for completionist only. It’s the worst Thor omni that has been released to date. It’s not bad. Just ok.
