Ahhh that magical feeling of playing tombraiders as a kid unbeatable. Tomb raider 3 on Xmas morning. Loved the dramatic music that comes on fight parts it used to scare me 😂
I prefer new tomb raider games, because new trilogy is open world plus uncharted taught tomb raider many lessons ( and yes I played old tomb raider games, all parts on ps 1, but the controlling killed me, it definitely was fun back then, but not now, it was like playing chess hah, but i had much fun with anniversary, legend on ps 2), but not narrowed levels, I think new tomb raider is much better in many ways, i only hope new tomb rider ( it has already been rumored) will make some new innovations

I downloaded ePSXe which is a playstation 1 emulator, thereafter i downloaded Tomb Raider Chronicles, before playing it i modified a few settings of ePSXe. What i did first is changed my main video plugin to Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.77 and the soft video plugin is ePSXe GPU core 2.0.0. (video plugins can be downloaded from various websites on the internet if you don't possess them) you're also able to adjust texture settings as well as add a filter and so forth, thereby immensely enhancing graphics in playstation 1 video games. The graphics are so superbly splendid therewith consisting of total magnificence i couldn't believe my fucking eyes and what's so odd is my laptop i'm using certainly isn't even a gaming laptop, now imagine how much more enhanced and improved the graphics quality of playstation 1 games could appear on a powerful potent gaming laptop. Tomb Raider series on PS1 isn't a game that i'm much a fanatic of, all those various puzzles contained therein perplex me lol, however because of the advanced graphics thanks to a variety of video plugins i'll play playstation 1 video games again. All i know is on the actual playstation 1 console, games with their characters and environments often appear heavily pixelated, on a PC pixels could be eliminated from a game. People need to find out for themselves which plugins work with which games, but if you have a gaming PC the graphics card should be more then capable of running every video game smoothly regardless which games it is, whether PC games or emulator video games. This is excellently fantastic playing Kawaii Games.
The latest TR series I played in the PS1 era was The Last Revelation; I didn't get to play this one. All TR series (Core Design) deserves a remake for PS5 (and other 9th-gen consoles).

Even tho I played this games, watching it now I can see why did they made Angel of Darkness so dark, at the time I thought it was different from other games, but chronicles have the same vibe.
The engine/software Tomb Raider 1-5 were built on never did cities/modern buildings that great but were fantastic for nature and ancient buildings. Like in TR2 inside of the Maria Daria ship, TR3 london, TR4 levels where you ride the motorcycle, most of TR5 didn't look that great
remember the time when games were not that simple, you have to figure out by ur own there was no guides or clue where to go what to do etc unlike now a days where you get directions gps and instructions related to your mission

I really hope 4 and 5 and angels of darkness will get a remaster that it deserves but angels of darkness I think should be worked on as I belive it was unfinished
would have been better in original resolution, wobbly textures and low colour palette don't look good upscaled, if you want higher resolution then best play the PC or Dreamcast version

Either been stolen (someone just never gave it back to me) or I left it somewhere (unlikely), but I KNOW I had it! Aaargh! I had all of them, including that awful Angel Of Darkness game (though I still played it all the way through!), it was the first game that I played where I actually noticed that content was missing and that it was genuinely broken in places.... Talking about Angel Of Darkness: Now, I was reminded of all this by the Angry Video Game Nerd, but yeah, he pointed out all this stuff too, though he was just recapping me at the time when I watched his Tomb Raider vid... Broken controls and missing content: ie the boxing ring - UTTERLY pointless! The shop too - utterly pointless again! AND the guy in the park: "Go away, I'm busy!" Yeah, busy doing fuck all! Turns out that he shouldn't have been there because the section involving him had been taken away/swapped out with something different! And what was the point of finding those fucking gas masks? Why the FUCK couldn't I have just gotten them from the bodies I left behind me?! I mean, they drop weapons, why not drop the gas masks?! That seriously didn't make sense to me, even then. Which is why I say that it was the first game where I noticed that it was broken in some way, gameplay-wise. As well as the controls being pig-handed to use too. I knew all this then, but yeah recently the AVGN reminded me of its awfulness... I've got Tomb Raider: Underworld, but I've not played that yet. Not got round to it. I'm the sort of person to start one game and play it until I get truly get stuck, or until I actually complete it. I'm still on Grand Theft Auto 4 (and a bit of 5 too), and I'll play them until I'm 100% done, so I've still got at least 20 games that I've not even attempted yet! I STILL have about 5 games (out of 38) on the PS2 that I've not played yet either - Indiana Jones & The Emperors Tomb being one of them, and I'm told that I'll love that game! Haven't even TOUCHED my Xbox360 games or console AT ALL yet! And I've had that god knows how many years!?!

I loved Lara for a very long time. Until she became a murderer at the 1:o4 mark. And not only that, the guy she killed had just saved her life. And even after he saved her life, he still could have killed her, but didn't. She could have helped him but didn't. I lost all respect for Lara then.
Why in these old games, every pixel is jumping around, all the static objects are kind of moving? This is probably the worst problem with those old graphics, they literally damage your sight!
Well, I can imagine like, if Larson and Pierre were dead in TR1, this Rome event could be an adventure before the events of TR1, chronologically speaking.
But also, no. Because they do "die" in this game. Larson eaten to death by those snake-dragon-like guardians, and Pierre ironically died by falling at Colosseum ruins. This way, TR Chronicles was a couple of memory missions of Lara that took places in an alternative timelime.

These games were so awesome in the matter of puzzles and challenging to mind. They don't make these kinna games anymore.

The Ireland levels are so spooky and awesome, and the setting and story is so good they should have made it into a film.
They should have made the game a lot longer than it currently is and add some extras to it.
The first of the original 5 games I've completed, not 100% secrets but in general.
The Ireland stages took me a good few hours to beat XD

Anniversary or Underworld. They are mostly puzzle oriented.
