What i do with my macaws is buys big toy with thick wood and they really do long with these als so with the left over toys you can make new toys, U can use toilet paper roles or only the roles, wood from the forrest who are parrot safe ofcourse
This is do to the Teflon that is in the non-stick cooking supplies. When Teflon is heated up it send out a gas that can kill a bird in just 30 minutes. This is not dangerous for humans but birds have very sensitive respiratory systems
Wow very informative they are very sensitive indeed ...when i get a bird or birds i was thinking about putting them outside in tje backyard inside an enclosed netted area so they have theyre own space and alot of room to fly around do you think that would be a good idea ?
Hi there, I am 12 and researched alot about birds but I still am searching for the perfect bird. I am hoping to get my bird this young so I can actually grow with the bird. I want a bird that is very personable, can be touched and loves back. Something not like a budgy or a finch! The cage I think I will get is 72inchX24inchX24inch cage. I am fine with just one, if it needs a pair then I can fo that. What bird is best for me? Cockatiel was the bird I was thinking about, loving, simple and adorable. Cockatoos sound and act AWESOME but I heard they are bad beginnet pets, are they and can they live in my cage? Thanks, bye!!! Also, what is you imput on clipping bird wings? I have a giant room that is decently bird safe.
I would agree about cockatoos not being an easy pet, especially for a beginner bird owner. They are by far my loudest and most destructive birds! I also love them like children, so it does balance out in the end, but I don't know that most people would agree :P I've had minimal experience with smaller birds, to be honest, but I know some very happy cockatiel owners. They are affectionate and enjoy their owners, but don't require the same space, expensive huge toys, etc... that the larger birds do! I keep my personal birds wings partially trimmed as a happy medium. They can go short distances, and have decent aim, but couldn't handle totally flying off. This way, should some terrible incident occur where one tries to fly off, we can still retrieve them, but should they ever need to escape something, they still have the ability to get out of danger. I'd love to have them totally unclipped, and perhaps one day I'll consider it. Just heard too many heartbreaking stories of birds flying off after 20 years.
I am so confused on the wing clipping, I want my bird to be happy and I want to put it first, I think I will go unclipped, I was planning on the cockatiel first!!! I have a giant spare room that is pretty pet safe, just mabye covering a few wire, it can safely fly in there!
Poor thing! If you're able to take it to the vet, definitely start there. If not, since it can be expensive, look for an animal or wildlife rescue around you that can pick it up and get it vet care!
This question isn't bird related but I was wondering if you had any tips for pigs that bite. My pig is around 7 weeks old and he's been really good! The only problem I have is that he occasionally bites pretty hard. He usually bites when I'm wiping food off of his face, and I do not want biting to be a frequent habit of his. I usually just say "no" in a stern voice. Any tips?
A lot of pigs hate having their faces wiped...just like children :P You have to discipline like Mom pig would, that's what they're accustomed to. Make a large reaction, quick shout, hand clap, small flick on the snout. Give it a minute, then give some reassuring scratches to remind them you love them despite their behavior, and try again. The pig gets three strikes and then a timeout. Total isolation for 10 minutes. Make sure you're moving slowly with the face wipe, praising them, using warm water, maybe using the wipe to also rub places they like to be pet. A big wipe coming at their face and covering their eyes can be scary.
While I was watching ur video I told myself I need to bring my birds in because my mom takes the birds out at around 6am and me and my sister bring them back inside around 7 or 8 pm and I want an umbrella cockatoo because they look so cool on camera I adore Rosie fun fact I have peaches faced love birds and the recent clutch we had an albino bird and it’s so cool it doesn’t come out of the nest fully yet but sometimes it peaks its head out and it’s so cute to watch. I love ur videos now I need to show this to my mom!!! Bye ❤️
I got a question please replied!! what if all that harmful stuff that you said bad for the bird what if you don’t get them near that stuff is that ok? Please answer my question I’m getting a bird and I need to know this stuff💗
I think it would eat all of my other pets! Lol. I try to stay away from anything TOO exotic with really challenging needs. Also, they are illegal in the state I live in.
I met a white cockatoo at this bird shelter, she was called Ro or Row and she bit everyone else apart from me, I was really scared of her because she made 5 people bleed!! 😯 so the guy was about to put her back into the cage and I said “wait, can I hold her?” And the guy said “are you sure, she bites me all the time” and I said “yes, she is so gorgeous I really want to hold her” so I did, and once again I was really really really scared so the guy put her on me and I didn’t move, I just let her move about and I quietly talked to her, and she slowly climbed but t o my shoulder, and I was freaking out I thought she was going to lash out at my head, so I was frozen, and she came up and she said “Hello Roo!” And I said “omg” really quietly and I said back “hello Ro!” And she made a kissing noise with her beak on my cheek and she was hugging in and I said to my dad “oh dad please I would die for her” and the family next to us, there was a little boy and the bird bit him and he wanted nothing to do with her but after he saw how she treated me, he said “oh mummy please! I want the white one!’ And I was shocked and I just walked over to my dad and I whispered “dad please quickly that family is trying to get the bird of me 😞” so he asked the guy “uhh is Ro up for adoption” and he said.... “Ahh no she isn’t” I died inside right then and there
If you still have it I would suggest taking it to a rescue or shelter if it’s injured. If it’s old enough to fly and it’s not injured you should release it near where you got it.
I really love cockatoos and African greys and budgies and I really want to get some birds I really love your channel and your videos. Can you make a video on how to take proper care for birds and what products should be used I would really appreciate it x
I also am getting a Cockatoo I’m moving into a house here soon after I move I’m getting one as a life long companion I’m sooooo excited
How exciting!! 😃
I have a friend that has a cockatoo she actually got her this ball that’s for big dogs and will play soccer with her it’s super cute
They do like to play and will bond closely to a chosen person. I'm sure it is very amusing to watch them play
@@AdriRachelle indeed lol I can’t wait for my cutie I’m adopting a rescuer idc the gender I already got a name and everything ☺️

I have that air purifier!! 🙌🏻
It works!! And necessary too!
These birds are beautiful. A friend of mine had a pet store in the mid 90s. And had one like that his name was hamlet and was very friendly.
They are a lot of fun and can get very attached. But if they don't like you or haven't been socialized watch out!!!
You can diy parrot toys like using sticks strings twine tissues papers and beeds
I've heard of people doing this - I definitely need to!
Hi Adri, why non-stick pans are not allowed if you have a bird in the house? Please explain.
This is do to the Teflon that is in the non-stick cooking supplies. When Teflon is heated up it send out a gas that can kill a bird in just 30 minutes. This is not dangerous for humans but birds have very sensitive respiratory systems
Can anyone tell me a video of how to fully take care of a cockatoo bird
I don't know of one off hand but you could probably google that. LOL
I know that this is quite late but buying bird toys in bunches off of amazon is a great choice, and even making your own toys is great
I don’t even have a bird, I just like watching u talk about animals 😀❤️
That's awesome 😊
Very helpful video most ppl don't know these things so good to share with people :)
I had to really research a ton before getting birds and definitely didn't know half of this stuff before that!
Wow very informative they are very sensitive indeed ...when i get a bird or birds i was thinking about putting them outside in tje backyard inside an enclosed netted area so they have theyre own space and alot of room to fly around do you think that would be a good idea ?

My friend found a sugar glider in her house yesterday and it’s hind legs are paralyzed and we don’t know what to do

An albino? I bet it's beautiful! Sounds like lucky birds, getting outdoor time each day!
I got a question please replied!! what if all that harmful stuff that you said bad for the bird what if you don’t get them near that stuff is that ok? Please answer my question I’m getting a bird and I need to know this stuff💗
She said in the video it's best if you don't because air circulates. Better safe then sorry.
Are you ever one day maybe get a bobcat?
I think it would eat all of my other pets! Lol. I try to stay away from anything TOO exotic with really challenging needs. Also, they are illegal in the state I live in.
awwww... she is sooooooooooooooooooooooo cute
Please make more pig videos 🐷
Always!
I’m thinking about getting a pig in the spring
That’s one beautiful bird 💕😍
I am about to own one and i dont even know how to care for it-

I want the white one!’ And I was shocked and I just walked over to my dad and I whispered “dad please quickly that family is trying to get the bird of me 😞” so he asked the guy “uhh is Ro up for adoption” and he said....
“Ahh no she isn’t”
I died inside right then and there
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww your bird is sooo cute
😊
Petco
I have noticed they're much more affordable than Petsmart!
So basically me and myfather caught maya bird (wild bird) we don't how to take care of it
If you still have it I would suggest taking it to a rescue or shelter if it’s injured. If it’s old enough to fly and it’s not injured you should release it near where you got it.
@@AdriRachelle thx for addice but the flew away while ago

I always wanted a bird! 😁🕊 hubby days our pig enough extra responsibility 🤣
Between the birds and pigs, it's like having human toddlers for the next 30 years. LOl
Aww she’s so cute
a budjie
Whyyy the nonstick again? That wasn't explained.
Sorry, I think I mentioned it was due to the teflon. Teflon emits toxins into the air when heated that are very dangerous for birds.
Adri thanks for the clarification 😁👍
😉
Lol technology and I struggle
😛
If I was a bird I would want you for my mom😚😙😗😍😘❤💓💕💖🐦🐦🐦🐦
Lol. I think most days they feel lucky? They definitely have their grumpy days though.
😍😍😍
Downvoted just for the ad halfway through......
Ads are what feeds the animals 🤷🏻♀️.
7 minutes about the air purifier then a rushed rundown list of ‘don’t haves’ with zero explanation as to why or how they’re harmful? :/ boo. 👎
Jeanette, Thank you for your input. I will try to do better.
