I will always love Black Opium. It was one my mom's favorite. She passed away in 2018. and this scent brings me comfort and beautiful memories of her. Sometimes I will lightly mist one of my scarves with it to remind me of her.

I can believe that! I will always love and own Alien, but I can not wear it anymore. My friend and coworker also loves it and wears it everyday; sometimes it smells like gourmand heaven and others like bad bo... on the same person at different times of the same day! That is why I cannot wear it anymore, it can turn on you!
Do not take it personal please, but Angel can be literally suffocating to some people- a friend of mine used to bath in it , it was 20 years ago, still traumatised by it lol 😆 😄 💙!
Ok, the original Angel was unbelievable! I cried in my car in Nordstrom’s parking garage first time a smelled it. It was me…. until L’Oreal destroyed it. So sad. Black Orchid crotch and all - love! I too loathe the rest.❤ One missing - Poison. Had to leave “Tommy” musical because the woman in front of me bathed in it. Tragic.
I ordered a sample of Baccarat Rouge 540 from a niche fragrance shop and it was one of the worst perfumes I ever smelled. I couldn’t believe this was the fragrance sooooo many people liked. The ABSOLUTE WORST was Xerjoff - Alexandria II. I couldn’t even believe it was meant to be a perfume. It actually just one of the worst things I’ve ever smelled, period. It smelled like a rotting log that had been shit on by an animal, that was left in a puddle of watery mud with a rotting bouquet of flowers. It’s amazing how different people’s tastes can be.
Baccarat Rouge is one of the worst perfumes I have ever smelled!🤢 I find it really audacious that they sell it in such a high price!Even toilet sprays smell better than this!
Ahhh, I love No 5 , Angel and also Shalimar. Many of the classics get a bad press I think, and also age demographic / country are other factors. No 5 for French women across all ages is still very popular today.
Classics are classics for a reason. I think people who don't know how to appreciate the classics or how they shaped perfumery are the ones who need to jump between launches in the blink because so called hype fragances. Shalimar, No5 and even Angel are beautiful in their own way. Erba Pura and Instant Crush, however, are trash and need to be forgotten.
@@smcruz9803 Estee Lauder's White Linen is another beautiful classic, and my signature fragrance. Jean Patou's Joy(Joli) is a huge classic and smells divine. It reminds me of my late mum. It was her favourite. Interestingly, I have the right body chemistry to wear it, as well. It smells a bit different on me, but still very beautiful.
I cannot believe that Shalimar is even on this list! I've been wearing it since my teens and I'm a Senior now. Still wear it - and people also still remark how much they love it on me.
All the perfumes you mentioned smell good if used correctly. I have never come across a perfume that smells disgusting. Yes, there are scents that I don't like, but when people wear them, I don't act dramatic. Remember, there are people who love the smell of dirty socks and underwear, and at the same time, they themselves say that the smell of a certain perfume makes them sick and want to vomit! (I noticed that this type of people is more common in Western countries.)
Sorry you can't correct my nose, I smell what I smell 🤢 but you may love it, we're all different no need to pretend we all should like the same olfactories ❤
It's not about acting dramatic. If you've never come across a perfume that smells bad, it just means your olfactory system isn't too sensitive. I don't like the smell of dirty socks, but it's not chemical and doesn't make me physically flinch like some perfumes do. And yes, I will act dramatic about it, because I've had instances when a perfume made my freakin blood pressure spike and made me physically ill.
Portrait of a Lady smells exactly what funerals in old Orthodox churches smell like. It is indeed unforgettable, but not in any positive way whatsoever. 😅
Perfume is subjective and what works for some doesn’t for others. Weather, scent memory, skin chemistry and moisture (among many other factors) influence how we perceive scents but the hunt for what we love is the best part of it all. That being said…. I agree with 9/10 on this list! 🤣🤣🤣 Love to all the fellow frag heads! 💛💛💛
This is so true! I have tried a perfume that smelled nice in the bottle but on me it smelled like sewage. So gross. Then I had on Coco Mademoiselle and had a girlfriend of mine say that I smelled so good she could be into me. 😂😂 I get a ton of compliments on that one.
I get so many compliments when I wear YSL Libre Flowers & Flame. I had someone follow me at work (nothing creepy though) just to tell me I smell so good they just wanted to smell me more 😂 Either way, it’s such a great scent for anyone who isn’t crazy about fruity scents.
I hate Opium, Passion, Poison, and White Diamonds. I worked in an office just a few feet from a lady who wore White Diamonds, and I think she bathed in it. There was another woman whose daily tour began the same time as mine. If I saw her walking from the parking lot, I waited maybe 30 seconds before I walked in. I could smell her from several feet away. Also, I didn't want to ride the elevator with her. Over time, I learned to use a light hand when applying fragrance. Because I have a high sensitivity to fragrances, I try to be respectful of the sensitivity of others. One of my top scents is Gendarme, which is a unisex fragrance. It was developed by Topper Schroeder because he was extremely sensitive to every fragrance he tried. He described all of them as "cloying." I have several other fragrances in my wardrobe. I find that I can't wear some scents on warmer days, as they tend to smother me. Also, I may apply fragrance behind my knees or at my hairline near the base of my skull. Typically, I will test drive a fragrance for several hours before I buy. Many that I like at first sniff seem to develop a musky smell before long. In my list of favorites are Bal de Bain, Burberry, Fracas, Petal by Cynthia Rowley, and Tabu. I get the most compliments from Gendarme and Tabu. At the top of my list of disgusting scents is Sand and Sable. I tested and bought a bottle in my late teens. Hours after I got home, I became ill with a stomach bug (with lots of hurling for about two days). I tried wearing it after I recovered, but it would take me back to that place. So, I returned it for a refund. The bottom line for me and for most people is to use a light hand and to remember that fragrances shouldn't enter a room before you do.
Love Shalimar. Used to test it out when I was a teenager long ago. Don’t wear it frequently now. My husband bought me Chanel No 5 as one of my first gifts while we dated. Good memories with both. Went through an Angel phase in the 90s. I do wear Black Opium le Parfum these days. Am a vanilla lover. I have never liked Libre. That’s a big no.
I think with the "classics" people may dislike them because they remind them of their grandma or something so there is this association. then there are frags that are associated with an era or decade, and people have grown tired and or moved on from that DNA. for example for men, Drakkar Noir and Fahrenheit. As for modern perfumes, some perfumes are a victim of their success, they are soooo popular that some people are tired of smelling them. niche perfumes by definition are not going to be mass appealing, so of course some individuals will not like them at all, and even hate the smell. but at the end of the day, it's all about personal taste and preferences , it's all subjective just like foods. you can please some of the people some of the time, but not everyone all the time. I got Libre for my wife, she totally loved this one and has gotten multiple compliments from friends. I do agree with the Erba pura, and black orchid on this list, those are not appealing to me.
I believe BR540 is one of those scents that develop on the skin and will either smell very good or nausea inducing depending on who wears it. Same with Black Opium. I hated both BR540 and BO on myself but absolutely LOVED it on my husband.
I love Black Opium but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't "get" Chanel no 5. I remember when I still exclusively used cheap celebrity perfumes when I was younger and figured I'd finally try out good quality perfumes like a proper adult and chose to try Chanel no 5 because it was supposed to be the most iconic scent that pretty much every Hollywood star used (at least in the past). I sprayed it, felt nauseous immediately and couldn't figure out what was wrong with me - it was horrible. Other honorable mentions: Anything by Mugler with the word "Alien" in it and BR540. I agree about Tom Ford "Black Orchid" as well. Erba Pura I find quite likable actually although it is way overpriced. Also a beastmode fragrance so I can see how this can get overly cloying easily.
YSL Libre gives me the WORST headaches. All I can smell is the lavender and it smells super masculine to me. I have a full bottle of it and use it as toilet spray. I wanted to love this perfume so badly and even tried mixing it with other scents.Baccarat Rouge I can’t stand either all I can smell is this weird dirty water scent which is another perfume I’ve wanted to love badly.
For me Fenty by Fenty is my worst nightmare. Patchouli that just won't stop. It was a scrubber. Then a shower. I cannot ever wear it. It was gifted for my honest review. Have a great week ❌️ ⭕️
I have to admit, several of these scents I’d never even heard of. For 40 plus years my favorite perfume has been Opium ( the original ) . And I also love Paloma Picasso perfume. I guess I’ve always preferred spice to fruity or floral.
I also hate Angel. That damn fragrance started a horrendous trend of overwhelming gourmands. And now baccarat rouge started the horrendous trend of zaffron in perfumes 🤮 I love Libre, so I'm ok it's on #11 ...least hated
I get so many complements of Libre. I also like BR540. I think half the hate for these is that too many people like it, making it not unique enough for people.. Santal 33 and Instant Crush are really not my vibe. Erba Pura, Shalimar and Chanel #5 also don't do it for me but I don't hate them. I haven't smelled the Mugler in so long I can't say if I would like it now or not. It used to be too strong for me.
I get tons of compliments whenever I wear Black Orchid. It's a fave that stays in my rotation. Angel used to be a favorite. So much so that I ended up getting the tall star because I got tired of refilling the small star. That also was a heavy compliment-getter for me. I think it may have been reformulated because the last bottle I bought didn't smell as good as the many bottles I've bought over the years.
I love Black Orchid and have found that both men and women notice and compliment me when I wear it. I guess people either love it or hate it, as it's on both best and worst scent lists.
I personally love Shalimar, Nr. 5, Black Orchid and Angel. I think they are classics for a reason. Also you need to get the vintage versions in order to truly appreciate them for the ones that have been reformulated. They did belong in a different perfume area and nowadays, most people like more airy, fresh and delicate perfumes that are not that strong and oriental. They like tuned down perfumes. Nowadays many perfumes rarely last very long as well. Even very expensive ones do not perform as much as in the 90's and 80's and before that. Many perfumes are now skins cents, which a few decades ago was unheard off. I noticed that some male perfumes have a note in them that to me smells like sweat. Those are the only ones I cannot stand. I hate the smell of sweat. I also hate of course the smell of urine and feces, so if a perfume would smell like that, I wouldn't like it. I wish I'd know which note has that sweaty smell in it for me. I just can't figure it out.
I love Chanel no 5 l’Eau and many other Chanel perfumes. I’m gonna keep enjoying it! I keep trying Libre and flankers and well, it’s ok, but I didn’t even consider buying a travel spray. As for Angel, I enjoy the Eau de toilette better than the perfume. Great video, thank you!
I went through four bottles of Angel! I still have a half bottle of Angel but never wear it... now I wear Amouage perfumes including Lyric Woman and lancome Poeme (discontinued). That BR540 was the worst perfume I've ever sniffed. I have a brand new Chanel No 5 soap I can't stand and keep thinking I should throw out.
I somehow stumbled upon this video as a man who collects fragrances But I cant believe Erba Pura is even on this list. Erba Pura and Delina are the two fragrances I bought as a gift to my girlfriend because I love it so much (but cant wear it myself as its too feminine) Maybe its the female version of La Nuit de L'Homme, where its something I hate, but my gf likes on me
Something in Erba Pura must be one of those smells that depends on genetics or something. There are certain people who can't smell asparagus pee, so I wonder if this is like that. Not to compare it to pee. lol
When I wear Instant Crush women and men ask me what smells so good. Women go crazy when they smell it on me. Libre, Instant Crush, BR 540, Black Orchid all they are extreme compliment getter. For those people who said they hated them, I suggest they give it a try Afrika Olifant by Nishane or Sadonaso by Nasomatto. Just try them. I apologize for forgetting to mention that Yana is more beautiful than any perfume 🤪☺
I do NOT get the hype for Coco Mademoiselle. It literally makes me gag. To me, Chanel’s patchouli DNA smells like musty mildew…that fragrance reminds me of a box of mildewed clothes stuffed in an attic for years and someone opened it, then sprayed a ton of a generic citrusy cleaning product to try to cover the pungent aroma.
I remember I asked for Coco Mademoiselle for Christmas one year because I thought it was so "mature" and much cooler than what I was wearing at the time. Every time I sprayed it I felt a wave a nausea come over me and thought I was being dramatic. I *sometimes* like it on other people, but for the most part it's just downright bad.
@@labrat44😂😂 I sometimes wonder if it’s just my skin chemistry and maybe it smells good on other people?!?! It must smell better on someone else because otherwise, I have no clue why it is so popular!! 🤷🏻♀️
@JoeShanMac it's funny because I ended up giving it to my mom, and I remember going to see her one day and thinking she smelt so nice. So I asked "wow mom what fragrance are you wearing!?", and she replied with "what do you mean!? The one you gave me... coco!". So it MUST smell nice on others, and my chemistry is just not for it 😂
@@labrat44 same! When my hubby walked past me when I wore it, he said “oh no! There’s something really musty in here! And was digging through the closet sniffing everything 🤣.. had to let him know it was me and he told me “I’m sorry but that smells bad…please don’t wear it around me again” 🙃
DaRn I missed that post. I also think that the more popular a fragrance the more likely it was worn by an ex. We will always hate that scent. The worst not expensive scent from highschool/University was Exclamation by Coty. It was like nail polish remover and dead flowers.
I thought I was the only one that could not stand Erba Pura! I tried and coughed and coughed, to this day one of the only things I have washed off (after which it still got me)!. It is so raved about, I honestly thought I was going mad....
I think sometimes with perfumes we literally do not smell the same thing because of physiology differences and emotional/mental associations. I tried Baccarat Rouge and it smelled awful, not at all the way people described it. It triggered a migraine and i get nauseous every time i smell it now. But I realized that it smelled like when they clean your IV or picc line with saline and therefore reminded me of the hospital and feeling sick.
lol!!! I just put the same comment on here now 3 weeks or so after you mentioned it. I feel the pain mentioning them! 😂😂 I also added that in my opinion Victoria’s Secret Heavenly also kind of smelled terrible.
I've always, always hated Angel and Shalimar . I used to have friends that wore these too, not sure how exactly I survived that suffocation 😂😂😂. But...nothing and no one can ever touch N 5, I think it's just an universal smell , and soooo beautiful 💕💕!
I’m a dental hygienist and am not allowed to wear fragrances to work. After years and years, I often forget that perfumes exist! This video is a great reminder to me that they do indeed exist, and there are so many! Have you created a list of the best or most loved fragrances? ❤
I pretty much love more than half of this list! There are a couple scrubbers for me, but overall I own and love most of them! Although it did take two or three tries for me to really get Angel, but once I did, I adored her! I wore her a lot when my kids were all little and now all of them have 50ml personalized engraved bottles to keep around because they said the smell reminds them of me and the good times we had when they were young.
Angel🤢…back in the day when “fragrance sprayers” created a gauntlet at Nordstrom, I literally (in a nice way) told a girl noooo waaaay keep that away from me!! Ugh!!! I was a Flight Attendant back then and soooo many Flight Attendants wore it and it made being enclosed in the silver tube a gagging experience!!!🤮
Black Orchid was my first “high end” fragrance and it was loved by all. I worked at a school as an advisor and sprayed a bit on my neck and i was always walking back and forth through the halls. I remember when the bell rang and students were outside my room saying out loud “Damn somebody good!” I even had teachers follow my scent trail to my room, walk through the door and say “It was You!” 😅 Something about it just says “I got this” and set the mood of my day. I used it up so fast 😂 I learned that it’s best to spray it on about 45 minutes before I got to work so those harsh top notes wore off and I could enjoy the dry down for hours!
I have Libre and Black Opium and BR540 I like them 😮. Just got Instant Crush in the mailbox today and Black Orchid sample on the way. 😢 Why didn’t you do this video last week so you could have saved me 😂. Just kidding…thanks for the video ❤
You may love them though. I was sad to see erba Pura on bc I'm getting the gold edition dupe to have my fiance n I try it but I'm going to try it for myself.
I bought YSL Black Opium because so many people described it as a vanilla latte and I don’t know if I got a different perfume. It smells like jasmine and a bit of bright musk. There’s no coffee and vanilla at all for me 😢
Please do a video on amber perfumes??? I remember when I was a teenager in the 80's and I went into a head shop. There was a small wooden box on the counter and inside was a chunk of real amber resin. Omg I've never forgotten how it smelled!! Sweet and slightly smoky. I almost wanted to eat it lol. Anyway I hope you consider doing a video on amber fragrance in all it's forms❤
Me too. I loved JOOP in the 90's, now I can't stand it. I actually quit wearing it in the 90's because one of my coworkers "copied" me and I could not stand how it smelled on him. So I stopped wearing it too.
The original Opium is so very much worst than the Black Opium. I remember when it came out in 1977, I was 14 then. It's a spice bomb oriental scent, & that's all you get w/it. I hated it then, & well always will. ;) BUT the bottle is one of the neatest bottles I have ever seen! It's got a black cord going across the top in/of the cap. I never understood that, but is very intriguing.
Same. Its a polarizing fragrance. I TRIED multiple times to like it but on my skin it gave me a headache and gave me a tickle in the back of my throat. I will say every time I tried it smelled better. I just couldn’t enjoy it on my skin. It doesn’t work with everyone’s body chemistry.
@@MakeUpTraffic Delina is a sharp monstrosity... along with most of QB's creations... I think he aims at stimulating the nostrils of people with barely any olfaction left because hypernosmic people cannot handle Delina, or Hibiscus Maharaj, or that Paco Rabanne with popcorn bs, or Teriaq... I could go on...
Couldn’t agree more and I have a few to add. Estée Lauder - Spellbound & Youth Dew Jo Malone - Red Roses & Oud Jean Paul Gaultier - Classique Agent Provocateur - Eau Emotionnelle Agent Provocateur Elizabeth Arden - Sunflowers Donna Karan - DNKY YSL - Opium (Original) Worth - Je Reviens Charlie - Charlie (Original) Chanel - No19, Coco, Allure, No 5 Jean Platou - Joy
Agree with them all, Agent Provocateur gives me violent headaches! And Spellbound, UGH so sweet. Just the thought of some of these makes me nauseated 😮
What was the 1 that had green juice. And its a 70s scent. Emeraude? Ughhh! Add that in also. Agree with most of these. Chanel 19. That was the only scent my mom wore when she ever did wear something. So that's a personal 1 for me. Take care !
I confess I don't like BR540 but I never smelled the real thing. Only dupes. I might have to finally break down and get a sample to confirm my hatred.😂 It's that hospital vibe that puts me off it.
Also perfume smells different on every skin. My girl friend gave me a perfume I really liked, 'Golden Tulip' like the hotel. She said it stinks. One time I wore the fragrance she gave me and she asked me: "What perfume are you wearing? It smells so nice." I said it's the perfume you gave me, the one you said stinks. 😂🤣 She was so surprised and said it smells different on you. 😂
My mom wears Shalimar. I think my fragrance tastes are a rebellion against that. A lot of women's fragrance in the '80s had that powerful vibe. I prefer more straightforward, soft fragrance.
@@TheScented Maybe they haven't had covid enough times. 🤭 But when you've been around rubbing alcohol in the lab long enough, the scent eventually becomes readily distinguishable. Let evolution continue!
I never heard that about black orchid. I did hear it about that 1 scent from . Halston. His first scent. The 1 that started it all. he actually asked the nose to add in a note that smells like his lovers jockstrap. Thank you, FX, for helping me know this. And the bottle has the same english as his lovers ' member. Or ' man meat'. U know what i'm talking about. 😉
Someone gifted me Chanel no5. I tried so hard to enjoy it out of respect for friend. But I eventually left it in public bathroom in park to replace their Lysol 🙁
There are so many dupes and people wearing the first 3… it’s also like , as soon as you enter a room of pretentious fragrance people , those 3 are considered Walmart level trash
😂😂😂 this makes sense! I abhor BR 540, but used to LOOOVE Juicy Couture the original, but I take offense to the unrefined nose comment…just kidding, I think it’s hilarious because most of my perfumes are nice, but unremarkable, except for Kenzo Amour and PDM Layton.
I actually prefer the Le Parfum version of Black Opium. Its more vanilla and less spicy than the original. I love both, but I reach for the Le Parfum version more often. Also, I enjoy Chanel #5 after a shower on spring day when I want to smell fresh and clean without smelling like laundry detergent. I have a lot of fragrances for different occasions, moods, seasons, and none when I feel a migraine coming on. I also like Tom Ford Velvet Orchid but it's very heavy with one spritz so I struggle to find occasions to wear it. I NEVER overspray my fragrances and am always mindful of others. I believe scent should be noticeable when someone comes close or a light hint walking by, never fill a room, elevator, or doctor's office with your fragrance. I wear a lot of my scents to bed so I can spray what and however much, I like.
For me it’s PDM Delina. I blind bought it and holy smokes that stuff gives me headaches and a bit of nausea and it never. Comes. Off. Seriously at least a week of staying in your hair or clothes. I smell it on others and to me it’s just the smell of powder and pain.
I have loved most of the BR540 dupes. Have gone through a few bottles, different brands. So I’d love to have the original 😍 I really tried to like Libre or any of the flankers and it’s just meh for me. I enjoy Black Opium and my fave is Le Perfum version. I have a lotion of Santal 33 and I don’t get the pickle smell, but I don’t love it to buy it especially at that price. I don’t like CH GG but I like the Supreme and Blush version.
I will always love Black Opium. It was one my mom's favorite. She passed away in 2018. and this scent brings me comfort and beautiful memories of her. Sometimes I will lightly mist one of my scarves with it to remind me of her.

People need to remember that formulations of the "classics" have changed since Marilyn Monroe wore them. Most of the old accords/note are now synthetic. So, it's not possible to smell like her or like the flappers.
It was probably even more challenging back then.
I’m not sure how real civet would smell better than synthetic civet.
I don’t know how Marilyn smelled, but no 5 definitely smells like something someone from back then would wear
People are crazy, Libre is amazing.

This is so true! I have tried a perfume that smelled nice in the bottle but on me it smelled like sewage. So gross. Then I had on Coco Mademoiselle and had a girlfriend of mine say that I smelled so good she could be into me. 😂😂 I get a ton of compliments on that one.
Tom Ford Black Orchid is polarizing. Definitely agree!
Sinks! 😂
I'm shocked to not see La Vie et belle on this list? It usually gets so much hate.
I'm surprised too! I only got a couple of votes for La vie est Belle
I get so many compliments when I wear YSL Libre Flowers & Flame. I had someone follow me at work (nothing creepy though) just to tell me I smell so good they just wanted to smell me more 😂 Either way, it’s such a great scent for anyone who isn’t crazy about fruity scents.
I love that one! Just bought it ❤
I agree with Erba pura and santal 33 🤢
However, I love Angel! It reminds me of my mom. It will always have a place in my heart 😢
Ugh…Clinique Aromatics Elixir!! My gag reflex has me running to throw up!! 🤮
So happy to see you’ve reached 100K! I’ve seen every one of your videos! 🥳❤️
Thanks so much!! I’m so grateful for your support 🙏
You sumned it up the best word for word
My sister, my daughter, and I smelled BR540 at Saks, and all of us had an instantaneous visceral reaction of repulsion to it!
I believe BR540 is one of those scents that develop on the skin and will either smell very good or nausea inducing depending on who wears it.
Same with Black Opium.
I hated both BR540 and BO on myself but absolutely LOVED it on my husband.
Totaly agree! Same with me 😂
Yessss! It is so offensive to me too. It almost makes me angry 😂
And now baccarat rouge started the horrendous trend of zaffron in perfumes 🤮
I love Libre, so I'm ok it's on #11 ...least hated
I agree. I have 5 different Chanel perfumes, I love each and every one of them for different occasions. Chanel Noir Chef kiss for evening wear
The sound effects with each fragrance made me laugh😂
😅
I somehow stumbled upon this video as a man who collects fragrances
But I cant believe Erba Pura is even on this list. Erba Pura and Delina are the two fragrances I bought as a gift to my girlfriend because I love it so much (but cant wear it myself as its too feminine)
Maybe its the female version of La Nuit de L'Homme, where its something I hate, but my gf likes on me
Something in Erba Pura must be one of those smells that depends on genetics or something.
I missed la vie est belle, that would be my no. 1
Ditto! 🤢
Same, gives me a headache.
Totally agree about Shalimar
POAL is scrumptious😍
White Diamonds & Red Door 🤮hopefully they’re gone
Oh my god, I gagged just reading that! Hard agree!!
Agreed for POAL 😂! I couldn’t scrub it away from my arm. Sorry to the lady from Ogilvy, who said it’s a masterpiece.
I’m a dental hygienist and am not allowed to wear fragrances to work. After years and years, I often forget that perfumes exist! This video is a great reminder to me that they do indeed exist, and there are so many! Have you created a list of the best or most loved fragrances? ❤
Red Door is nauseating.
I love Chanel No. 5
I'm shocked that Alien isn't on this list, same with eilish #2
Angel🤢…back in the day when “fragrance sprayers” created a gauntlet at Nordstrom, I literally (in a nice way) told a girl noooo waaaay keep that away from me!! Ugh!!! I was a Flight Attendant back then and soooo many Flight Attendants wore it and it made being enclosed in the silver tube a gagging experience!!!🤮
Estee Lauder Youth Dew. Gag inducing.
It was my mother’s favorite and I wore it for years! But I love many Estée Lauder scents.
I agree all Estee Lauder to me are just awful.
White Linen is THE WORST TO ME
I know someone that smelled like a flower garden wearing it, it did not agree with my chemistry.
Oh goodness, it's terrible
My stepmother always wore Youth Dew. If I smell it now, I immediately look for her.
Black Orchid was my first “high end” fragrance and it was loved by all.
I worked at a school as an advisor and sprayed a bit on my neck and i was always walking back and forth through the halls.
I remember when the bell rang and students were outside my room saying out loud “Damn somebody good!”
I even had teachers follow my scent trail to my room, walk through the door and say “It was You!” 😅
Something about it just says “I got this” and set the mood of my day.
I used it up so fast 😂
I learned that it’s best to spray it on about 45 minutes before I got to work so those harsh top notes wore off and I could enjoy the dry down for hours!
There’s no coffee and vanilla at all for me 😢
Burberry Goddess Intense. Organic body wipes and adult diapers.
😂😂😂 Omgosh best description ever.
Ambergris is my favorite perfume ingredient. Love it.
Joop, extremely bad headache! Thought I liked it in the 90’s, but still caused bad headaches.
Me too. I loved JOOP in the 90's, now I can't stand it. I actually quit wearing it in the 90's because one of my coworkers "copied" me and I could not stand how it smelled on him. So I stopped wearing it too.
Dune by Dior and my sisters were awful and would spray it on me. It was horrible.
Dune always reminded me of fly spray, but it's one of my friend's favourite
The original Opium is so very much worst than the Black Opium. I remember when it came out in 1977, I was 14 then. It's a spice bomb oriental scent, & that's all you get w/it. I hated it then, & well always will. ;) BUT the bottle is one of the neatest bottles I have ever seen! It's got a black cord going across the top in/of the cap. I never understood that, but is very intriguing.
Get out of town.
Delina needs adding...it gives me a migraine 😢 Agree with number 1...got a mini of it and never smelt anything do vile in my life 😮
Delina is a masterpiece.
@MakeUpTraffic thar may be so but it still gives me a migraine 🙃
I cannot stand the tart monstrosity that is Delina either... like bleh!🤢
Did you do a video on Armani’s Si Passione Intense? ❤ reallllyyy want to know your thoughts on it! 🙏🏼❤️
I am obsessed with YSL Libra 1:16
Youth Dew made me vomit. I spritzed on wrists and neck- and physically became ill within minutes 🤢
My sister and I called it “puke dew”, LOL.
Me too
My grandmother wore it - I never liked it. Just chokes me
Youth Dew has an ironic name because to me it smells like old lady and makes me sick to my stomach
The bath oil of Youth Dew smells so much better.
For some reason BR540 reminds me of airport bathrooms. Maybe for the same reason it reminds people of hospitals.
Couldn’t agree more and I have a few to add.
Estée Lauder - Spellbound & Youth Dew
Jo Malone - Red Roses & Oud
Jean Paul Gaultier - Classique
Agent Provocateur - Eau Emotionnelle Agent Provocateur
Elizabeth Arden - Sunflowers
Donna Karan - DNKY
YSL - Opium (Original)
Worth - Je Reviens
Charlie - Charlie (Original)
Chanel - No19, Coco, Allure, No 5
Jean Platou - Joy
Agree with them all, Agent Provocateur gives me violent headaches! And Spellbound, UGH so sweet. Just the thought of some of these makes me nauseated 😮
Ha, I believe Coco and #19 are the best perfumes in the world
Worth -Je Reviens is absolutely disgusting!!!!
What was the 1 that had green juice. And its a 70s scent. Emeraude? Ughhh! Add that in also. Agree with most of these. Chanel 19. That was the only scent my mom wore when she ever did wear something. So that's a personal 1 for me.
Take care !
@@littledove4984 Amirage,Givenchy too
A girl at work wears BR540 every day. Smells like dryer sheets and it's everywhere.
I confess I don't like BR540 but I never smelled the real thing. Only dupes. I might have to finally break down and get a sample to confirm my hatred.😂 It's that hospital vibe that puts me off it.
It smells good. More masculine
Should be extra careful if you're buying online because OMG the incense offensive smell burberry goddess has i had to return it
Love Angel. It’s been my go to this week. Smells like a vanilla macaroon
Love Shalimar and No 5!! These do not belong on the same list as Erba Pura. What an insult.
Agree. Great perfumes of all times.
I will always LOVE Chanel No. 5 and don't understand the hate. It is what a fragrance should smell like imo.
In my opinion Alien is very nauseating.
I used to love BR540 but honestly now it smells like hookah with some iodine to me.
Hahaha now that you mention that comparison I won't be able to unsmell it 😅
I'm kinda surprised of Instant Crush, I like that one during the summer, but I can agree about it smelling chemically
I love all things Libre!
The le parfum is the best one hands down that honey ginger and saffron. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
My mom wears Shalimar. I think my fragrance tastes are a rebellion against that. A lot of women's fragrance in the '80s had that powerful vibe. I prefer more straightforward, soft fragrance.
this is a fun video - agree with Erba pura :)
Wow, can’t believe Kouros wasn’t on here
Most of my audience is female
So happy that chemically woody amber bombs made the top of the list! 🥳 As for Shalimar...😐who do I need to fight first? 🥊🤣 Ding ding. 😉
Haha😅 seriously though, I want to understand how some people can't smell that chemical stab
I hate delina there is a sharpness it’s to strong and gives me a headache
the accuracy of this list!!!! 10/10
Someone gifted me Chanel no5. I tried so hard to enjoy it out of respect for friend. But I eventually left it in public bathroom in park to replace their Lysol 🙁
🤣🤣🤣
Falcon Leather by Matiere Premiere made me run out of the store to get fresh air 😂🥴
Shalimar, BR540, and Chanel N5 will always be the classics that unrefined noses that prefer Juicy Couture will hate 💃🏼
Some of us hate all 4.
Most people love By the Fireplace. All I can smell is burning leaves.
I have this. Got it because I was seeing a guy and we went camping a lot lol
For me it’s PDM Delina. I blind bought it and holy smokes that stuff gives me headaches and a bit of nausea and it never. Comes. Off. Seriously at least a week of staying in your hair or clothes. I smell it on others and to me it’s just the smell of powder and pain.
🤣
Black Opium, Black Orchid, Delina. Omg, these trio could give me horrible headache and nausea 😂😂😂
There's some really old perfumes that are so much worse. Tabu, Estée Lauder Youth Dew are just a couple of the all time most awful smelling scents.
Number 1 I would say Alien from Mugler.
Urgh. Tea Rose!
I love BR 540! Now, Nostos from L'Etat Libre D' Orange turns my stomach. That entire house is not for me 😂
