It’s hard to imagine that the adjuster pins could withstand 36k pounds .
Yea... i need that for my GMC Canyon.... lol
what size was the tubing 2 inch 2 1/2 3 inch ??
I just love the rating ... truck tows 25k on the reg .. and I have the same bulletproof 2.5"
I have the 14k rated one and i love it. And it has taken out my father’s shins a few times.
I met the owners of bulletproof at at marina in Bradenton Florida last year. They are very cool family guys
I love my B&W but, I am ordering this Bulletproof Hitch. It is massive. It has to be good.
What a beast. If your manufacturers would allow it I think you should auction your extras for charity. maybe the American Heart Association?
So glad you are well but please take it easy JD. Seems that since your heart attack the level of content has increased.
Take care! Thanks again.
You should see if other brands accessories fit it 😉
People with trailer's see ball hitch I see knee buster.
I like it but B/W works fine for me. I also bought into the locking pins from infiniterule.
Bought the 8 inch drop. Wow the thing is built tough
Bulletproof is hands down the best!
Been looking at the BulletProof Hitches and waiting on you to do a review. Got tired of waiting and went and bought it while I was in Florida doing Hurricane Recovery Transport. Wish I had bought it years ago!!!
I have been waiting for you to review Bulletproof Hitches. I have owned these for many years. I feel they are one of the best. I believe the steel they use and the manufacturing process is top notch. They are a great company. Customer service is very good too.
If I’m being 100% honest I don’t tow bumper pull trailers just gooseneck but I keep my big shiny 8 inch adjustable hitch on just for the looks and for tailgaters.
Forgot to mention my hitch is the 8 inch drop aluma-tow I got it for half off I honestly wouldn’t recommend it theirs a lot of play in the hitch but like I said I’ve never used it just tow gooseneck.
The bp hitch is a very nice hitch I use mine every single day . The powder coat only last about a year but has a year warranty. Of course I waited to long to get mine fixed. Pretty sure this will be the last hitch I need to buy ..
Also the powder coat came off the top of the ball with the first trailer.
@@brandonkisner4069 did you put the grease on it?
When I purchased my 2020 F450 I didn't want to run the reducer sleeve. At the time there was not that many companies offering a 3 inch shank. I absolutely loved my Bulletproof hitch. It provides great confidence that whatever it's hooked to that it's not going anywhere!
I think you got the middle one on weight because what you said in the beginning about the reinforcement. But going to buy one because I think they have the best product. Plus sticking out the way it does I have a better turning ability because my 40'4" trailer will hit the tailgate with the handle turning left going FORWARD need something that moves it back.
What’s the best locking hitch pin? Had my B&W drop hitch stolen even with a locked hitch pin. Hate having to hide it away in cab when not in use.
My recommendation is go with PacLock. I run their hitch lock, their pin lock and I also have them on my workbox. They're all keyed alike. Any lock I buy going forward will be from them.
You can check out their locks on Lock Picking Lawyer's channel.
Holy smokes!
I guess it would be nice to have if you just never want to buy another hitch again? Or if you never want to worry about whether or not your hitch is rated to tow some trailer.
My question is, what is the tolerances on these pins? The hitch and ball mount may not fail, but what about the pins connecting them?
I’m sure the pins are strong enough given it’s rated for 36k bumper pull which is pretty insane I don’t think any heavy duty truck from factory can support that much weight towed at the bumper.
For a hitch of that weight capacity, I'm surprised it didn't come with a 3 inch ball. Which until a few days ago I didn't even know existed. I saw one of my local TSC store
Never heard of a 3" ball, even googled for one and did not find one.
@@w4gle1963 its used in goose necks, at least thats the only place I have seen them
What safety chain hooks do you use for your superduty?
I use hammer links on the Ford factory chain holes to let the hooks attach. Factory holes are too small for toy hauler hooks.
Just get some hammerlocks and you’ll be set
That what I run….bullet proof
I don't see how the pin holding the shank to the hitch would be able to hold 36K. Start hitting pot holes and what not in the road and it will multiply the weight that you are towing. I used to be a millwright in a saw mill and did heavy fabrication so I like overbuilt stuff but this rating is a bit much. No non commercial truck can tow that much anyways.
Dodge makes a truck with a 37,000 tow rating. I'm looking at buying the truck.
@@jamesdriscoll2478 At the rear or at the gooseneck?
@@servicetrucker5564 bumper and what dodge sells as a hitch cant handle that but the truck can pull that its rated for it
@@jamesdriscoll2478 Must be the 5500
Hi,
How do you stop the movement in the hitch?
Add either an anti-rattle pin or an anti-rattle tightener/clamp.
Long hitches are bad for trucks. Creates more tongue weight and lots of leverage on the truck.
Looks alot like a curt drop hitch.
I wouldn't trust it. A friend had a bullet proof rated for 22k, was only towing a travel trailer that was 10k, the hitch was bent inward after the first trip. When he called to tell them and ask if maybe it was just a 1 in a million fluke and if he could get a replacement, they told him to kick rocks.
