Hey guys so this is part 2 of the interior project and I can say already that the interior is already looking and feeling like a much more comfortable place to be. Hopefully you enjoy the video
Hey love the vids man. Also kinda random question. Have you, or anyone you know gotten random leaves and debris in your evo x hood? If so, how did you get it out?
Hey mate thanks I appreciate that, and yes I have actually got some leaves and other debris in mine and I guess to get them out the best bet you be to remove the scoop or vents and possibly try to shake them towards the opening then vacuum them out haha
Great informative video. I have a 2012 Evo X and it has a rubber mat with cloth insulation glued to it, under the plastic parcel shelf you are working on. I wonder if that's an SSS package feature or maybe they added it in later years. Haven't noticed any rattles from the rear even with the factory subwoofer cranked up so I think it helps a lot!
Awesome! Thanks for the tutorial. I had no idea it was that easy. I looked at forums online before and I thought they had said there were bolts up in the trunk that held that shelf in and I never felt like taking on the task of doing that. I also didn’t know the seat belts had the slits to come out easy. I had always wanted to wrap that shelf in suede like I did with my headliner. Maybe that’ll be a project I do next. :)
Thanks mate unfortunately I can't add anything like that to the video now that it's live but I'll see if I can make a little before and after clip and post it to my Instagram shortly
Mine rattles pretty badly, that sucks it's not possible to get to the clips of the rear shelf out without removing the entire rear seat. The rattles from the rear shelf are pretty bad though. I tried stuffing some foam into the area above from inside the trunk and it helped for a while but I think over time it compressed back down and the rattles are back. I have a ton of speaker fabric, I wonder if this would work very well to wrap the shelf with it. I have so much of it trying to think of ways to use it up.
Thanks Ken, yeah after getting it all in installed and driving around with it for a few days I actually can't tell i have any light spots so it worked out well. I have ordered the cubbies and am waiting for them to arrive which will hopefully be very soon
I’m currently blacking out my interior on my 08 Lancer because everything is Tan do you know where I can get seat covers or should I just replace my seat? I can’t find seat covers for this car anywhere

Suede/alcantara really updates the interior on the X
Agreed it definitely adds a touch of luxury
Great video, very informative. Now I can try and sort out my rattles.
Thanks mate good luck with them as nothing is more satisfying then getting rid of a rattle that's been driving you crazy for months

Glad it's helpful mate and yeah definitely easier than what the forums have described.
Great vid. Any chance you can add a before and after clip to show the difference?

Great outcome mate 👍
Thanks after driving with it for the past week or so I can say it's one of those little mods that make a big difference overall

It would for sure be worth popping the back seats out and trying the stuff some of the material in there
Good video Jackson, it’s a shame you ran out of fluff but you don’t notice it being up the back .
How did you go with the centre console cubby doors ?

Here in Australia you could get seat covers from any of the parts stores like Autobarn or repco, unsure about elsewhere though
