I grew up in G.B. Moved away. I miss this restaurant as a treat. Glad they still have the goats on the roof.

Im a Swede and meatballs are a staple in my diet. You can make them with 100% beef or with beef and pork. Normaly you have 30-50% pork and 50-70% beef. You do that because you want to get up the fat to make them less dry. But both ways are common over here. Another one is take out the beef and use moose and pork instead. Very common amongs hunters. The sauce we use is brunsås (brownsauce) or gräddsås (creamsauce). Swedish pancakes are allways round and made in a pan. But I understand that is not possible in a resturant like yours. Old pans are always best to make the pancakes so I salute you that you use the old stuff to get the nice browning of the pancakes.
Your channel is so fun to watch I watch 1-2 episodes every week now. :)

I’ve been there a few times and everything was Great 👍😊😊😊❤❤❤. In past years and I’ve stayed at the Rowley’s Bay Resort not far from Al Johnson’s off and on for about 16-17 years and unfortunately there was a fire at the resort this year in September (2023) a week before some of the people I know that have go there for a peaceful weekend getaway. Love the whole area there because of it’s commitment to keeping it un-incorporated as well as All the Beautiful Scenery, Food, and things to see and do there when everything is in season there.

I was trying to remember how the meatball machine worked after watching this in the lobby, screw hand-forming all of that. Kid's size crepes, pea soup, curly bacon, meatballs, berry soda, and a Monte Cristo ALL DAY!

I'm not associated with Al's (I do love Al's though!), but it's easy to check the hours on Google for any restaurant before you drive there :)
