I think Dawson deserved a happy ending. The writers could of hired a cute actress for him that would of help him forget about Joey. He suffered too much, trying to win Joey’s heart. And at the end all his effort was for nothing. I wish I could have a Dawson in my life. ❤️

Even though the writers tried in season 5 and even season 6. Nobody bought Joey and Dawson even though they kept trying to spoon feed it to us. I agree. Once they went with Pacey and Joey it was over for Dawson. Not just because of their chemistry, but they wrote Pacey and this huge romantic. And put in tidbits from other people, like aunt Gwen, that alluded to the fact that Pacey always liked Joey, even as kids.
Yup, the moment true love sailed in sunset. That was the end of DJ relationship. Though final nail in the coffin was Joey 19th birthday. Even though writers tried so hard but couldn't create the magic these two have.
This show just made me so sad. Joey was Dawson’s soulmate but Pacey was joeys. And I prefer Dawson over pacey character wise so I always just wanted him to be happy but that never happened :(

I mean trying to do what he felt was right for Joey and then Joey ending up fighting with him about it like with her father using again after getting out of prison. Dawson has always looked out for Joey because he cared very deep about her but he knew he wasn’t going to be able to stay with her just because of the fact of fighting all the time. Dawson would of done anything Joey ever asked from him yet she kept fighting with him. He gave her space when she wanted it was there for her anytime she needed him. I just started watching Dawsons creek this month, early January, My Boss found it on Hullu and told me about it, I went over one evening and he was on season 3 and I watched one episode and then another, and another and I was intrigued, and hooked. I immediately loved the bond between Joey and Dawson, but I noticed Joey was always having a tizzy each time Dawson didn't meet her expectations, and she'd leave him standing there wondering what he did wrong ( most times nothing) but he'd try to make her happy, and even then it wasn't good enough. I told my Boss, she was a demanding ,spoiled brat , always calling the shots , coming at Dawson sideways , he gave her space and she sleeps with his best friend. I started at the beginning ( season 1) last week and saw their love nurture, and then the writers put her with pacey, seriously? I love the twist that keeps you hanging, but I feel Dawsons Creek would had gone on for many more years if the writers would had put Joey in the man's arms would truly deserved her...Dawson.

I was DJ fan during its original run but now watching it back i dont like Dawson at all majority of the time. Joey had her faults too but Dawson was so manipulative, self centered, spoiled, selifish and so unbearable most the time. If he really loved Joey, he would have wanted her to be happy, even if it wasnt with him. Being a soulmate doesnt mean you own, control, or possess that person. It doesnt always mean you end up with that person either. PJ didnt set out to hurt Dawson, they just devloped feelings for each other over time. You cant help who you love. I will say they probably should have told Dawson about it instead of letting him hear it from someone else. He didnt want Joey in Season 3 but he didnt want anyone else to have her. That isnt what Love is about, True love is understanding, patience, and about freedom. Dawson didnt show Joey any of those things.

Why does everyone hate Dawson? I honestly really like Dawson tbh. Not trying to start an argument, I'm just curious. I really don't like Pacey to be honest I've seen all the way up through season 3 and he's such a douch to Dawson, acts like he's Dawson's best friend in the World all the time he's Dating Dawson's best friend, which also happens to be Dawson's ex girlfriend whom Pacey knows Dawson still has feelings for behind his back. And I know Joey shouldn't wait for Dawson forever, but let's not forget that Joey was the one who pushed Dawson away, not the other way around.
Yay someone also watching in 2020 lol. hmmm do you want my opinion, I'm one of those that hates Dawson and likes Pacey? 1.Pacey wasn't dating Joey through season 3, in episode stolen kisses they realise they want to be together and immediately Joey tries to tell Dawson but aunt gwen gets in the way. Next episode Pacey tries to tell him but Jen tells him first. So they were only dating for a 1 week at most behind his back. 2. Dawson rejects Joey in ep 1 of season 3 3. Through the whole season you see Pacey and Joey slowly fall in love , at first Pacey doesn't tell her because she is Dawson's 'girl' but eventually he falls so in love with her that he cant stop it and has to tell her. 4. When Dawson finds out he puts ALL the blame on Pacey and acts like Joey is this doll that Pacey stole and he can take back. He gives Joey no choice or opinion. He tells her that she must be bored or malicious to be with Pacey and that he only wants sex. 5. He tries to trap Joey by saying he will stop their lifelong friendship if she stays with Pacey. Dawson and his family is the closest Joey has to a proper family. She even tells him the reason she broke it off with Pacey is because she didn't want to lose him and his family. Its such a cruel thing to do! 6. In the end she has to break down crying in his arms for him to set her 'free' like she is the caged bird! He even tells her to run away before he changes his mind! 7. Dawson and Joey broke up a year before all this happened. I expected Dawson to be angry and sad but i didnt like the way he tried to trap Joey and put all the blame on Pacey. I agree with you when you say that it was wrong of Dawson to try to force Joey to pick him, or else he wasn't going to be her friend anymore, that was so Cold-Hearted. But I still think Joey or Pacey should've told him, he shouldn't have had to hear about his 2 best friends having an affair behind his back from Jen. They had multiple chances to tell him, it wasn't right of them to keep it from Dawson. Would you still stay friends with them? The thing is that people are not putting themselves in Dawson's shoes to see things from his perspective.
I think JD shippers sometimes forget that you can't help how you feel about someone. It doesn't matter how much Pacey knew about Dawson's lifelong tie to Joey, he still fell in love with her and he tried not to. He tells Jen he's falling for the worst imaginable person ever. He knows it will hurt Dawson, but it hurts him to by not being able to stop falling in love with Joey. He tries hard to respect Dawson (not telling Joey he loves her in the jail cell, not telling Joey when he goes to her house and instead acts like he came over to teach her how to drive, not telling her at the rally for principal green, etc.) until Pacey knows he's hurting himself way more than he'd ever be hurting Dawson (keep in mind this is subjective to Paceys POV). So I think it's wrong to blame Pacey for loving Joey despite him knowing it'll hurt Dawson. Dawson does treat Joey like property and its hard to convey without showing scenes from the show. Dawson feels entitled to Joey and that entitlement never really stops.

comparing this to Twilight... Bella and Edward were meant for each other, Jacob didn't even love Bella, seeing how he imprinted on their daughter. give the show a chance. there are plenty of love-triangles when it comes to movies or shows, can't compare them all because every plot is different, but as a fan you always have a favorite.

Me too, he was so possessive and controlling of Joey, he couldn't control his jealousy but HE rejected HER and she is the one who chose Pacey, he fell for her but she fell for him too, so it was unfair of him to go around saying that Pacey "stole" Joey from him as if she's an inanimate object without her own choice in the matter. Joey treated Dawson a lot better than he deserved. At least he grew up somewhat in the later seasons. Pacey was always the better choice.

Why does everyone hate Dawson? I honestly really like Dawson tbh. Not trying to start an argument, I'm just curious. I really don't like Pacey to be honest I've seen all the way up through season 3 and he's such a douch to Dawson, acts like he's Dawson's best friend in the World all the time he's Dating Dawson's best friend, which also happens to be Dawson's ex girlfriend whom Pacey knows Dawson still has feelings for behind his back. And I know Joey shouldn't wait for Dawson forever, but let's not forget that Joey was the one who pushed Dawson away, not the other way around.
Yay someone also watching in 2020 lol. hmmm do you want my opinion, I'm one of those that hates Dawson and likes Pacey? 1.Pacey wasn't dating Joey through season 3, in episode stolen kisses they realise they want to be together and immediately Joey tries to tell Dawson but aunt gwen gets in the way. Next episode Pacey tries to tell him but Jen tells him first. So they were only dating for a 1 week at most behind his back. 2. Dawson rejects Joey in ep 1 of season 3 3. Through the whole season you see Pacey and Joey slowly fall in love , at first Pacey doesn't tell her because she is Dawson's 'girl' but eventually he falls so in love with her that he cant stop it and has to tell her. 4. When Dawson finds out he puts ALL the blame on Pacey and acts like Joey is this doll that Pacey stole and he can take back. He gives Joey no choice or opinion. He tells her that she must be bored or malicious to be with Pacey and that he only wants sex. 5. He tries to trap Joey by saying he will stop their lifelong friendship if she stays with Pacey. Dawson and his family is the closest Joey has to a proper family. She even tells him the reason she broke it off with Pacey is because she didn't want to lose him and his family. Its such a cruel thing to do! 6. In the end she has to break down crying in his arms for him to set her 'free' like she is the caged bird! He even tells her to run away before he changes his mind! 7. Dawson and Joey broke up a year before all this happened.
I expected Dawson to be angry and sad but i didnt like the way he tried to trap Joey and put all the blame on Pacey.

I agree with you when you say that it was wrong of Dawson to try to force Joey to pick him, or else he wasn't going to be her friend anymore, that was so Cold-Hearted. But I still think Joey or Pacey should've told him, he shouldn't have had to hear about his 2 best friends having an affair behind his back from Jen. They had multiple chances to tell him, it wasn't right of them to keep it from Dawson. Like on that camping trip Dawson and Pacey had, Pacey had the whole night after the kids went to sleep, to tell Dawson, but he didn't. And neither Pacey nor Joey are innocent let me tell you. Joey tried to have sex with dawson right after everything that happened between them, Joey wasn't acting like herself, that's why Dawson stopped her. Dawson isn't a saint himself he also did a lot of things he shouldn't have, like mess around with Eve, but something Eve told him came true, the first one to stab you in the back is your best friend, and that's exactly what happened to Dawson, Pacey Knows how much Dawson loves Joey, but he falls for her anyway. He Doesn't care about how Dawson feels. Joey also knows how much she hurt Dawson but she also knew that if she didn't see how things turned out between her and Pacey, she'd never know. Dawson knows Joey and him knowing her as well as he does, he knows that she loves Pacey and that nothing he says or does will change anything so, he has to let her go, it hurt him, but deep down he knew it was the right thing to do. I think the reason why Dawson put all the blame on Pacey was because Dawson trusted Pacey with all his heart, but then Pacey just turned his back on Dawson and betrayed him like that.
but you leaving a few thinks out, dawson was talking to joey about getting back together, he hurt no one told him they were dating, a week before pacey haveing a sex deal with jen, (agian no one told him) so dawson thinking pacey only want her for sex make sence.
and pacey told joey i not going to stay here and watch you get back with dawson, ( so he made it clear he not even going to be in the same state if she go back to dawson( so he also was trapping her
@@andrewbanks4735 I disagree that Dawson was wrong for wanting Joey to pick between him and Pacey. How would you feel if you loved someone, but they wanted to be with your friend? Would you still stay friends with them? The thing is that people are not putting themselves in Dawson's shoes to see things from his perspective.
I think JD shippers sometimes forget that you can't help how you feel about someone. It doesn't matter how much Pacey knew about Dawson's lifelong tie to Joey, he still fell in love with her and he tried not to. He tells Jen he's falling for the worst imaginable person ever. He knows it will hurt Dawson, but it hurts him to by not being able to stop falling in love with Joey. He tries hard to respect Dawson (not telling Joey he loves her in the jail cell, not telling Joey when he goes to her house and instead acts like he came over to teach her how to drive, not telling her at the rally for principal green, etc.) until Pacey knows he's hurting himself way more than he'd ever be hurting Dawson (keep in mind this is subjective to Paceys POV). So I think it's wrong to blame Pacey for loving Joey despite him knowing it'll hurt Dawson.
Dawson does treat Joey like property and its hard to convey without showing scenes from the show. Dawson feels entitled to Joey and that entitlement never really stops.

Me too, he was so possessive and controlling of Joey, he couldn't control his jealousy but HE rejected HER and she is the one who chose Pacey, he fell for her but she fell for him too, so it was unfair of him to go around saying that Pacey "stole" Joey from him as if she's an inanimate object without her own choice in the matter. Joey treated Dawson a lot better than he deserved. At least he grew up somewhat in the later seasons. Pacey was always the better choice.
