I opened my preferred at one of chase branch. Opening one from their branches offers new customers 10,000 more bonus point after you spend a total of 6,000 on purchase in the first 6 months on top of 80,000 bonus after 4,000. So you can get 90,000 total after spending $6,000 within 6 months.
I think the problem is here, even if they were offering the 100k sign up bonus, the cards still not worth it for the reserve. You can get primarily the same transfer partners listed as amex and cap one other than Hyatt, SW and united. Not to mention amex is doing an air France 25% bonus transfer and 15% ana transfer promo right now so you get a better deal with that card. And if your gonna charge me a whopping $550 annual fee with little to no advantages benefits from this card over the rest, I feel like I'm wasting my money. Chase needs to step up their game before I even consider taking one of their cards over the rest.
John I was approved for 15k on April 22, Credit Score of 708 Experian, I went into a branch for the extra 10k in points after spending 4K in 3 months and then spend another 2k in 2 months … as of today 5/19 I completed both in 28 days… I spent $6,019 and I will get all 90k point on May 21st. 🎉🎉 I love this card.

Great video as usual John!! I been eyeing the Chase Sapphire preferred last week or so for this sign up bonus. currently I only have the Chase freedom unlimited from chase. My only issue is lets say I get the Sapphire Preferred and after 3 months receive the bonus. later on If I no longer wish to keep the card as it has $95 annual fee, can I close it or downgrade to chase freedom flex without taking a hit on my credit score? There isn’t a confident place to put your money. Everything is fucked by design. Usually, like in 2008, you would park your money in Gold to hold. On an income of about $80K gross, does it make sense to have multiple travel cards and dilute the spend across them, or does it make more sense to have just one card and put all your spend into the one card? I already have a Venture X and I'm wondering if it makes sense to get the Sapphire Preferred or Reserve.
Get cards that works for you is my advise! I would pick out what cards gives the best rewards such as Amex gold personal giving 4x points on supermarkets and restaurants. Definitely dilute across the board so you can maximize value for the money you already are going to be spending!
Well looks like I messed up. Applied for the venture x and just saw post how they basically removed the price match guarantee. Now they just match up to 50 bucks and it is a credit not a refund.
I think you are focusing too hard on cents per point with hotels, the earning rate for those same hotels is also higher so the adjusted lower cents per point isn’t exactly what it seems at face value, I don’t know the transfer values either but I’d assume you get more than 1 point per chase point so cents per point doesn’t mean as much
If I have an option between this and Amex Gold with the 75k points offer, are the offers comparable? Or is there one that has significantly more value?
@Jiggy609 I didn't compare the transfer partners before taking action, but I went with the Gold because they offered me 90k points for spending $4k in 6 months 😅 It seemed too good to pass up, and since I have a few Amex cards already I guess I feel a bit of loyalty toward them (I know that's not smart 😵💫)

Awesome Denny
I would only fly domestic in USA. What’s the best airline for me to transfer my points to?
You might be better off with cash back, or using the travel portal. Are you partial to any particular airline?
@@LK_EBM not really. I’m just trying to see which airline would give me the best value for domestic flights.
I'm still getting pre-approve invitation 80,000 bonus today
Its possível to get this card beeing Brasilian with no SSN? Tks
I got 705 credit score but was denied chase freedom credit card..... Idk
Rn all business class flights are all like around 300k points
So if you have the preferred card only for a year and you downgrade can you still apply for it at get the 80g points?
Did you watch the video? He mentioned the 48 months rule
@@LK_EBM yes it wasn’t clear in the video that it needed to be both but I did research and found the article saying both are required.
I have 2 years of cred history because of school and 1 card for 6 months with a 720 score. Should I apply?
Yes. You'll likely be approved
Question
I just got approved for an amex card very very recently
Would applying for this card that you're talking about stop me from getting approved for the said Chase card
My score i think was 735 or 755??
Thanks
Depending on how recent your Amex card was, Chase might not even know you got it. Just apply for the CSP
depndends on what credit reporting agency it was being pulled from
This question is for John or anyone else that can help me, I currently have A Capital One Quicksilver. I checked my emails and discovered an offer this morning for the Cap One Venture with 75,000 bonus miles. The thing is, I also wanted to apply for the Chase Sapphire Preferred in branch to get the 90,000 points.
My question is: Should i apply for the Capital One or go ahead and get my first card with Chase?
Before I found out about this offer, I was going to get the Chase Freedom Unlimited but I can always downgrade it to that card, if needed.
