“I crack my knuckles to prepare” sis bout to throw them hands, I do the same thing to tho, I hate to yell so i also show physical signs when I’m upset 😅
Everyone does! It's important to know your own personal anger triggers. Mine is usually clenching my jaw. When I notice I'm doing that I usually try to step away for a moment to collect myself.
I'm sorry, how does this have 2.9k likes and two replies! There is almost always more replies I'm confused! Anyway imma give you another reply soo now your on three replies anyway this is useless so thx for reading
As a person who’s been yelled at in sign (both on anger and excitement) can confirm signs get bigger. The excited friend accidentally high fived another friends face over some good news 😂
Yep! I took ASL in college and the first conversation was difficult and this girl got mad at me. It kind of discouraged me from continuing to learn and I unfortunately dropped out of the class. I am going to start learning again. Just because she wasn’t happy with me doesn’t mean I can’t learn ASL! ❤😊
I don’t know why she got mad but please don’t let that discourage you! it’s good to hear you want to pick it up again. just ask people to be patient with you and there will be plenty of people who are eager to help you learn!
Thank you both for taking the time out of your day to reply to me. The encouragement really helps and I appreciate it! 💕🫂 I have started with the alphabet and getting familiar with it again. I also remember a few letters other than the easy ones lol 😂. It has been nice to start again 😌🥰
@@Ricobangz-nq8iwagain they’re deaf not blind. That’s why there’s LIGHTS to direct traffic. There’s BLINKERS to indicate someone turning. There’s REAR/SIDE VIEW mirrors to help see around. Have you ever seen a spanish person signing? If this happens, please, remember: WE ARE NOT MAD, we just talk loud AF with our voice, with our hands, with our face and even with the tips of the lashes😜 🧛🏻♀️🖤🖤🖤
Pov: spanish deaf person signing 😂 Loud and then they mad. 😅 watch out Source: my deaf fams 😂 Even they not mad, im just explaining. 👀 loud way of splaining
Because of you, I've taken up sign language. Just completed day 103(not one day missed) Don't know why I bit the bottom of my lip when you started cracking your knuckles
My asl teacher says they also tend to make more noise. Just because they can’t hear they don’t realize how loud they get. Like some deaf people can still make sound with their voice even if it’s not straight talking. They could also hit stuff since their signs get really big
Also, you speak so well. Most of the deaf people I’ve met have a bit of trouble with pronunciations so I just think that your speach is phenomenal. ( I mean this as a compliment)
Sign is actually extremely expressive you are definitely gonna know what they are feeling as she said the signing is more intense with almost slaping sounds as their hands connect during certain signs and they will be breathing hard as signing with such intensity can cause changes in their breathing pattern as well. Facial expressions are a large part of sign language and so another important indicator would be their facial expressions. Overall the combination of all these things will paint you a clear picture of what they are feeling.
I bet that expression really comes through in the way people move their hands. I was reading a sign of affection (a romance manga about a deaf girl, it's really cute and really nice) and she talks about the way people sign to her in a really heartwarming way.
Hahaha I feel like you can tell the same way another person is mad or yelling in another language, even if it’s a tonal language. They look super mad and get big ❤
I saw a video of two deaf guys in an argument, I don't know sign but their body language was incredibly clear. Big aggressive movements in their signing, the posture, the facial expressions, they were definitely yelling.
I am learning a sign language and when we sign bigger and more exaggerated it indicates a command rather than a statement (the difference between “you eat” and “you, eat”), interesting to see how other sign languages use the space they have
I recently saw a video of a little girl who hit a stanger in public and the mom was deaf, or hard of hearing, either way she used sign and when i tell you she was yelling at this little girl for hitting this stranger i mean she was YELLING you can just see it in her body language and how hard she was signing that she was upset.
Saw a mom quietly yell at her kid in ASL. You know that pull to the side agressive whisper that makes you feel like you have to behave even though you're not the one being reprimanded and you did nothing wrong? Yea that.
Lately I've seen a signing family on a bus (mom and two boys somewhere between 6 and 10 years old). The boys were trying to talk over each other. They were CREATIVE😂😂😂
I started watching you before I really committed to learning ASL. In my second semester of ASL and I am pretty proud that I got about 80% of what you were saying.
I saw these two deaf ladies shopping one time and one of them must have been spilling TEA based on her facial expressions and how big she was signing. I wished so bad I could overhear the goss.
Also deaf people might not realize that when they're upset not only do their signs get bigger but the salm's get louder it goes from soft hand skin touching skin sounds to popping and thumping and cracking and clapping because it's making a lot of noise with the impacts of the different signs and the angles of your hands so it's making different noises
My friend knows asl and she is teaching me and she has the best facial expressions I have ever seen because of how asl helps her she’s amazing and so are you!🥰
That reminds me of “A Quiet Place” when the deaf daughter is arguing with her dad and she looks so upset and gets really aggressive with her signs where she’s basically hitting her hands together signing “stop”
i watched a group of deaf old people having an argument in sign language. they were going crazy with the speed of signing. they looked like they were just gonna start throwing fists.
I am so happy I took a class in Deaf studies last semester. Taught me so much about ur culture and how ASL is really just another language (not any less or more than any other language). I wasn’t taught ASL btw. It was just about Deaf people and their culture.
i remember reading this book called el deafo, which is about a young girl who went deaf, and when she started going to signing classes she didn’t want to be there. when she went to a restaurant once she saw these 2 people arguing in asl and the way they were illustrated was exactly like this which is pretty cool
This was perfect. I was always curious and I had assumed something close to your explanation, but now I know for sure. Thank you for this :) [I am in the process of learning ASL].
I used to live near Galludet University and TRUST me...deaf kids have NO PROBLEM yelling at each other! I was really glad I wasn't involved in that argument!!
She made two vids on that pretty recently, you can find them on her shorts when you click her profile on this short, there’s one naming paid classes and one naming non-paid lessons
I used to go to school with deaf students (well funded sector) and despite me not learning anything, I always get to see a lot of them get mad purely from their big signage. The thing I regret the most is not using that opportunity to learn signing.
I remember one day I saw a deaf person talking to another and I though "I don't like to be the other one because he seems pretty mad" , the energy sure was there.
My friend does just this. She has a CI but still signs when speaking so she can retain her language. It’s so interesting to see the emotion you can display in a language that isn’t verbally spoken!
y’all l remember a comment a while back that said a hearing person taking a sip of water before cussing someone out is the equivalent of a deaf person lotioning their hands before popping off😂
That explains! I have an near deaf step dad and I never rlly had the chance to learn (my dad never rlly kept up with the lessons for me and my sisters 😭) so I’m now taking a college class.
I’m reading a book about a deaf girl who got hearing aids when she was in second grade and now I know how cool the deaf language is I want to learn asl
One time I was at mall food court and I saw this dead family plus what looks like a few deaf friends having the most livid/exciting conversation ever and I didn’t want to seem like I was staring but from the little bit I saw, it became clear to me from that moment that expression and emotion is not lost in sign language. I something still think about what they might have been talking about lol.
I’ve seen this at my church. Like when the preacher gets more serious teaching and raises his voice, the interpreter will start to sign more ‘loudly’ I guess.
Trust me, you will know when a deaf person is mad! They are no different than hearing people. We all exaggerate our actions and speech when we're mad. I used to be around a deaf couple alot and they had an argument in front of me once. I didn't know sign at the time and I knew for sure they were arguing.
I signed up to take a few asl classes next year and im really excited! My family thinks its not a good investment of time, but i personally see it as really beneficial as i never know when i may need to sign for someone
I've seen deaf person fight (verbally), not only did she use more space but her signs were faster and angrier. It felt like she wanted to slap with every sign.

Can you guys drive ?
@@Ricobangz-nq8iw they're deaf, not blind.
