Do either an explanation on the economic history of the maritimes or the Quebec Ontario rivalry or Alberta history

Ghost towns are always so erie it’s like a reminder that nothing is forever and we risk our communities being frozen in time after a bad enough period

“Change is only constant in life.”... Heraclitus. I live in Canada so learning about it is of interest to me. Thank you!

A lot of these were land boom towns too that thought the population would keep growing at very healthy rates... Alas birth rates dropped, the mechanization of agriculture took root and people left Saskatchewan.... mostly for Alberta... It's crazy to think the whole province's population hasn't grown that much in Saskatchewan but next door in Alberta? Still booming... Ditto for Alberta's largest export besides oil, people moving to BC!! The good old pattern of everyone in the West moving one province Westward... typically... is true. At least from the stats I've seen. Heck even Manitobans move to Saskatchewan more than anywhere else If I'm not mistaken...

lol, why is it only 12%? I’ve seen it on a map. Only 12% empty would be amazing.

With 140 Ghost Towns within the province, it’s estimated around 12% of its properties are abandoned!

Vantage Sask....years ago my mother and I stopped into Vantage...my mother recalls family from Oxford County in Ontario who went west and settled in the Vantage area (Thompson Family) ...there is virtually nothing left there now...at the time of our visit (approx 2004-5) there was a small box located at the townsite where you could leave notes, etc...I believe there are still family members in the area and there is a road called "Thompson Road"
