My god. The way that the truth behind Toby's existience is gradually revealed as all the pieces of the mystery are put together is just perfect as it easily keeps someone engaged in solving it while being entertained. The way that Thomas dying was handled was flawless as it is actually impactful due to what he means to Toby & everyone else.
The ways that the other engines handle Toby's rising instability, Oliver's arrival, motives & overall suspiciousness, & adjusting to living alongside the diesels are exactly how you would expect them to act if you knew them for long enough.
The cinematography of this film is of such quality it made me feel like I was experiencing the story first-hand. The music score certainly helps in setting the tone.
Overall, this movie was incredible experience & worth the decade-long wait. :)

Holy. Hell. This is easily the highest quality and most well written fan-made Thomas production I’ve ever seen. I’m not even sure how to express how top notch this is. Tines, 100/10 my guy, you excelled yourself and blew every single expectation out of the water. The 10 years were beyond worth while.

I have so much to say, but I love how differently I processed what Oliver and Atherton were going through in this installment.
Oliver doesn’t feel complete, and feels like he needs someone (and something) to get there. The frightening thing is you can get the thing you think you need and find out you still feel the exact same way as before. So much of your self-worth comes from within. What happens if your hybrid engine is taken away? If that was all you are, you are indeed no longer whole.
What compliments this so well is Atherton’s depiction here. Subtle; but I felt like i locked onto it more than I ever have before. The respect and loyalty Atherton has for an engine as cunning as Oliver was very palpable. Atherton sees him as complete and wants Oliver to see it, but Oliver can’t accept it.
I love the way you depicted two sides to not feeling whole. The grief within one’s self, and the disappointment and confusion others feel when they can’t help you see what they see.

Well… Thomas’ death scene actually disturbed me. The pieces scattering everywhere, Tobais’ evil face, the reaction of the other engines and especially Toby’s reaction, seeing it happen through his own eyes, and having no control over his body. It was so sad especially since Toby couldn’t anything about it whilst another person controlling his body is brutally murdering one of his closest friend in front of him.

To clear things up for some of you:

This is magnificent. I feel so sorry for Oliver to be honest. He had such a toxic relationship with his brother, constantly made to feel small and useless, blamed for things that weren’t his fault. Doesn’t justify his actions though.
The voice acting was unbelievable. The screams of agony. The meekness. The anger. All of it.
I can’t help but think that the song, “The Mind Electric,” would fit perfectly with this film.

I've finally managed to assemble my thoughts together. Masterpiece, magnum opus, the GOAT of Thomas fan projects, it's not enough to describe this film.
I've been an admirer of yours for years, and any of my friends in the fandom will tell you how much I've looked forward to this project for the last few months. I've listened to all the soundtrack previews (both here and on Spotify), watched the clips, the trailers, everything. What a thought was gonna be a fun but haunting story took my expectations and cranked them up to 11. I have so much to say about this movie, but I'll try and keep this as brief as possible.
The visuals and the score absolutely took my breath away. Just the soundtrack alone, reading the description and seeing the various programs and add-ons used is stunning. You wanted nothing less than perfection, and perfection is what you got. And visually too, my god this movie was GORGEOUS. I can't count the number of times the sky backdrop alone distracted me from what was going on. The camera work was insane too. You took TRAINZ to its full potential with this, capitalizing on what so many model users and merchandise users dream of doing. Full 360 shots, huge wideouts, going underneath the engines' chassis, massive sets, the list goes on.
The characters were incredible in this too. Atherton's little redemption was well done, Thomas was so lovable, Henrietta and Daisy were amazing, and Toby was his usual MVP-self. I liked James and Henry in this, but they definitely became less likable towards the end. I actually started to garner a lot of sympathy towards Montague in this as well, he's a lot more likable here. Tobias was an incredible villain. He's just such an ass to everyone around him, especially Oliver. Speaking of him, Oliver is the best character of the film in my opinion. His backstory is so well done. He appears threatening and scary at first. Then we see him as weak and cowardly, and I was very curious to see where we'd go with him. And at the end, he gets this incredible full circle monologue that brings Tobias to his knees. It's incredible. He's so well written, he has incredible dialogue, and John Robledo did a fantastic job voicing him.
Kudos to the voice cast as well. I've already touched on Robledo, but good lord Caitlin and Mr. Berkshire deserve some praise as well. Mr. Berkshire pulled off Tobias so well, it actually took me a good 20 minutes to realize it was a different actor entirely, and I think that's worthy of praise. Adam, you of course did a fantastic job as Toby as well. But good lord, man, please tell me you drank plenty of water when you recorded your lines! Your poor lungs!
Overall though, good god was the project a beast. After I finished, I genuinely had to sit in my bedroom for a good hour just to soak it all in. I remember watching Half Pariah as a younger kid, and I remember eagerly waiting for the sequel. But I never thought it'd surpass Half Pariah the way it did. Arcane Merchant didn't just soar past Half Pariah, it brought its ranking up with it. Half Pariah walked so Arcane Merchant could jog, but Half Pariah starting jogging too! Knowing you, the last movie will make the entire trilogy sprint!
What a kickass movie, dude. Standing ovations, oscars, countless comments of praise, it's not enough. You've earned every ounce of support you've earned and will earn. Well done, Adam.

    Good lord…
Ten years… Ten years in the making.
It might take more ten years for the final part in this trilogy to release the final chapter in this series. Heck, for all we know, you were working on the third movie while making this one… But, it’ll be worth it. Because this was worth the wait! This is true cinema! This is what Hollywood wishes it could be: engaging from beginning to end, yet it still tells a story!
Oliver is one of my favorite characters. And my word, you’ve built up upon him in ways I can’t even begin to describe! It makes sense now that Oliver gravitated to Montague when he converted, because he was also a different engine in another life. He also wanted to be something bigger than a simple tram… But he was clouded by delusions of bulit up hatred and promise… And now, he’s going to be a bigger threat then Montague could think of being.
And Toby… Poor Toby. It’s strange thinking that Toby was a shorten name of Tobias, because Tobias is a horrid engine. It makes now why he pulled out that train too heavy for him. He was a cocky, stubborn, and hatful engine. We saw that with what he did with Thomas… Poor Thomas…
And now, we shall wait… Wait for what James and Henry will do. Wait for the nobody to become a somebody. And wait for the half-pariah to truly split, once and for all…

This movie however was a whole different level. The writing first of all was outstanding. The visual effects are not able to be described as words, with you guys having assiduity with the lighting. You really surprised everyone and brought 1.6K people. Poor Thomas as well. Saying this is a masterpiece is an understatement.
There is so much to take away. The themes about identity, finding your purpose, continual growth of evil, feminism, etc. are all on display with genuine cinematic prowess. The first movie really built up Toby's journey to becoming a hero, and in this one he has all that completely ripped away piece by piece.
You forget the 3 hour run time because you know to create continual unease and build tension with unrelenting drama. And when things get serious, they get really scary. This movie really digs into the psychological horror aspect of the hybrid concept, and it's genuinely terrifying seeing the journey the characters go through as chaos slowly but surely overwhelms everyone. From the horrific mind games to the eerie face work to the brutal death scenes, on top of an all-around stellar voice cast, a pulse-pounding score, and pitch-perfect sound editing, this knows when to come out swinging with everything it has got.
Henrietta and Daisy absolutely steal the movie for me, which speaks so much on how much you made the lead female characters so strong, layered, and sympathetic. A lot of that is thanks to their incredible vocal performances, especially Cait as Henrietta. They absolutely deserve the best performance award in a Thomas production of the year. Of course, you bring everything you got for the scenes where Toby is pushed to his limit. Berkshire really sells how much of a threat Tobias is, and John makes for an incredibly tragic and sympathetic antagonist in Oliver.
All in all, this is an incredibly emotionally eviscerating follow up to a fantastic first installment that more than lives up to the predecessor's impact, and I eagerly await to see how all of this wraps up in the final part of this trilogy, and I am so grateful to have played a small part in its creation. Even after all these years, this still feels 100% you and your feelings at work, and it shouldn't be any other way.

I already talked about this on Twitter, but this was a "holy shit experience" after it was over. Definitly an intense story, but you ability to take your ideas and go all the way is remarkable.
Everything has probably been said already, but as a musician, I want to give extra praise to the voice acting and the music:
Your music is so filled with drama and intensity, and you have an excellent ear for placing emotions in the music to what's going on in the picture. From someone who loves music to film - this is admirable. Your score does more than what I thought was possible with DAW - it's so expressive and fluid! I can tell there is a lot of effort and thought behind it.
I don't know how much you "direct" your VA's, but everybody has understood the assignment. Nothing feels phoney, nobody feels like they are just reading the script - everybody has a convincing performance. Everyone sells it.
This is a feat for both you and fan production in general. You should be proud of what you've created - it's something to behold.

This movie is peak cinema. From the opning scene with Montague to the ending this movie never fails to disappoint. The darker tone is a welcome change, The visuals and VFX are out of this world, the reprising of character themes are amazing and don’t even get me started on the voice acting! Tobias is nothing short of an amazing villain. He is such an awful and nasty engine that you just love to hate. You don’t like him when he abuses Oliver. You HATE him when he kills the guard and when he murders Thomas oh man YOU JUST WANT THIS STUPID TRAM DEAD. He is an amazing villain who to be fair kinda got better than he deserved in the end. Oliver is probably the stand out character for me. He starts out with one goal only and by the end the achieves it. You absolutely smashed it Tines!!! I am beyond excited for the sequel!! When I first saw the teaser for Daisy, I thought she was going to be one hell of a diesel enemy for Henrietta, but thank god I was wrong. I'm absolutely amazed by their dynamic and I know Henrietta would go bananas should Daisy perish in the third movie.

I see a lot of people talking about how brutal the death of Thomas was, and yeah I agree when I watched that scene I think I burned about 300 calories, but the scene made me think about how great of a character Thomas was. He was the most loyal character in this saga, he stood by Toby when he first met him at the quarry, he stood by Toby when Gordon kidnapped him, he stood by Toby & had his back when the diesels invaded the island & got into a physical fight to protect him. Thomas was the most loyal son of a bitch anyone could ask for. He was always loyal, he was Toby’s right hand man & always looked out for him. What I also love is that his loyalty & faith in Toby is what got him killed. He had so much faith that he could get the old Toby back that he fearlessly scolded an insane, narcissistic & violent creep. His loyalty to Toby is what led him to his death. Simply incredible character, Tines. Other than Gordon, by far my favourite character in the saga. Excellent work on this movie, 9/10.

This was definitely worth the 10 year wait for how much improvement and powerful cinematography went into this.
I may be a minor in the film, but I'm in eternally grateful to be apart in something so big that I never would have thought I be accepted in! This is better than how I imagined it to be when I first read the two different scripts! Thank you for letting me be part of this, Tines!
I also want to emphasis to everyone reading my comment without spoiling, I was fully aware as to what would happen to Thomas in this. While it was good to know what was going to happen ahead of time, I was not expecting how this film would go to the extreme lengths as opposed to that _other_ video from 2015 we shall never talk about, and how I originally pictured it in my head when I read the script(s). If this had been released early as far back as 2017, it would have immediately turned me off. Though I am older now, and seeing it for the first time how crazy it was put together, I'm not bothered by the dark sequence one bit. But _THIS IS_ Tines Sensahthe's movie, and it's _his_ own story. So it's obvious he can do whatever and make a full-on impression of himself for how much of a incredible content creator he is becoming. And it _is_ an alternate universe, friendly reminder. Far better than Sodor Fallout, I must say! That all I will say, but in short - don't let that one scene dismay you from everything else about this film. Nor let it stop you from enjoying this.
Subject aside - this movie is top peak for how out of this world it is. No other words and expressions can describe how the visual effects, animation, action, etc. is amazing. 10 years was worth the wait! I'm glad it's finally finished and now released. And, again, I'm more than glad to have taken part in something so big. Even if it's a small minor role, it's the littlest things that means a lot the most that can have a big impact, and go a long way. Even after watching the premiere's post credits, and I don't know if any of you agree or have stuck to the end, I can't help but feel there may be one more movie in the planning stages, that might be coming out in 2034 to complete this sage. Or maybe not, who knows? We don't know anything at this point! Better to just let the man of the hour himself finally rest, focus on his personal life, and he'll get back to us on what he says. No guarantees that a final film to make it a complete trilogy saga will ever happen! Don't take my word for it.
All in all - the movie was very intense and amazing. Tines had done another fantastic work! Thank you again for letting me be part of this, mate, it's such an honour! Rest easy now, and have a Merry Christmas, you deserve a long break now!

@@neikowilburn4078I don’t think he brought Tobias back to have a pleasant reunion. Oliver was fully aware of how cynical and diabolical his brother was. He did it to bring his own desire of being a hybrid engine to fruition. Yes he was remorseful, but it was all in the name of being something more.
It’s hard to describe him as a full villain. Oliver never intended for others to get hurt in this, but he cared about being something more. He was broken for sure. But his ambition and his actions put others at risk. His return caused a massive ripple effect that resulted in Toby’s reputation being tarnished beyond recognition. James becoming a dictator and banishing all diesels from Sodor, and the gruesome death of Thomas.
When the 3rd movie is released, I think it’ll be best to asses then if he can be classified as a villain. Yes he wants to be somebody(and become a hybrid engine) but for what purpose exactly? A hero to others? A villain of the railways? Yes he wants to be appreciated, but in what capacity? Yes he wanted to be strong, brave, confident, but there’s more to it. For the third one , I think Thomas and Gordon are ghosts who mentor Toby through his harships, and James will probably be the second antagonist, along with Oliver being the main threat to Toby. This movie was the most intense and well written Thomas fan movie I have ever seen with beautiful visuals and voice acting. This was like seeing a movie in cinemas.

You could say, Oliver is the brains and 'Tobias' is the brawls in these situations. I did find it a bit heartwarming with their heartfelt reunion and the sea shanty they learned from the dock workers. I felt bad for him too. Even if he was broken, it costed Toby's reputation.

40:12 idk if anybody’s noticed this but the way Oliver was looking at Toby in this moment… it was like a little brother looking at his bigger brother for protection. And in that moment, Toby ended up protecting Oliver as though he were his own, not like a Sudrian, but like his own kin. And now that we got the context that Toby is really Tobias on the outside while carrying a part of Montague’s conscious… his good side… it all adds up. It was this scene alone where Toby became Oliver’s real big brother! Not Tobias, TOBY!!
Let’s also give Montague some credit as he was the one to tell Oliver that his brother is a bad influence and that he can do better than him, a true friend, as though a sort of surrogate brother!
Sure, Tobias might have cared for his little brother, but it seemed to him like he was more of an accessory than an ally, especially noticing his faults. He only cared about power and dominance over others, and more importantly HIMSELF!
But the unfortunate thing about this is that Oliver had been broken mentally and physically for so long by someone who was supposed to be his older brother and made him feel like he was nothing. Furthermore, he was too blinded by his own insecurities and more importantly his delusions that he was destined for something greater than he was that he warped Montague’s and Atherton’s words into something more twisted and diabolical. Furthermore, he was too blind to see that it was in THIS moment that Toby/Montague was his true big brother.
Oliver truly is a broken character of pure evil and his downfall of indulging into his delusions are what make him worse than his own brother.
Spot-on character writing Tines! Definitely worth the wait!!

I’ve watched the film twice now and I can’t put how good this project is into words, everything about it is perfect, but Oliver, oh my goodness what a character, He might be the best villain i’ve ever seen in a thomas project, I almost found myself rooting for him at times due to his backstory and his relationship with Tobias

This is hands down one of the best fan made animated motion pictures to grace this website. You have cooked not just for the Thomas fandom, but for all of the aspiring filmmakers out there on the internet. The sheer, raw emotion that can be drawn from pngs on trains in this film is nothing short of a cinematic genius and I literally felt like I was freaking out at every point past the 5 minute mark.
Bravo to you and your team Adam, bravo to all of your team! And Merry Christmas, thank you for blessing us with this gift.

Happy to be a part of history!
Edit: Finally watched the movie and whilst it does take a while to get going, BOY does it get going! The psychological horror here was a particular standout and gave an added layer of gravitas to an already impactful and imaginative cinematic canon. Whilst the first film may have alienated some audiences with its absurdity, it feels Tines has a much clearer idea of what this film is as a piece of art and rolls with the bonkers sometimes confusing nature of it all. I’m just gonna say this now, but this was the project the fandom needed as a spark of creativity, opening up the imagination of what we can achieve not just on a technical level but what kind of stories we can tell. Don’t be afraid to make something unrealistic and absurd! There’s more to these characters than just the realism!

I remember when Tobias and the Half Pariah was new. All the way back in 2014. Take of the Brave was new then too but half pariah grabbed my attention in a way few Thomas fan projects have. It’s been a wild 10 years since the first movie and I’m no longer a boy but our collective love for Thomas has not changed one bit no matter the state of the franchise. Projects like half pariah and now arcane merchant are proof that we as a fandom can evolve and improve when we love something as much as Thomas.
I can’t wait to see this movie in three days time and I have no doubt the 10 year wait will be worth it.

So let me get this straight :
Montague was a weak diesel that was taken to the junk yard. Then Oliver appears, who was entrusted by the workers to find a weak locomotive so that they can turn it into a super locomotive.
This happens and Montegue becomes a strong diesel who is respected by all the other diesels, meanwhile Oliver (who is constantly sick and thus feels smaller than his brother Tobias)
The workers promise to turn Oliver into a powerful locomotive, but then the British government comes and bans the whole project.
Meanwhile, the "accident" occurs (here comes the part I don't understand)
so, Tobias gets the "power" and the copy of Montague's personality (which pushes the real Tobias' consciousness into darkness for 18 years)
meanwhile, Montague is put into a weak locomotive and loses his "power"
Oliver will also be transferred, but before they can give him "strength" the workers must hide so that the British government does not imprison them

Prediction for the sequel: They meet the designers and they begin trying to fix Toby and separate Tobias from him. They also learned one of the designers has a device that could bring back the dead, but it can only be used once. Oliver attempts to find it so he could bring back his only friend Montague. But Toby and Henrietta think they could use it to bring back Thomas. However the Flying Scotsman catches wind of this and tries to use it to bring back his brother Gordon. He blames both Monty and Toby for his demise.

It’s officially 3AM, I am honestly so glad this took so long to come out because it gave me time to really understand and go through Tobias and the Half Pariah aswell as gave us the blessing to have THIS. I really wanna go to sleep and not that I have much to say in this state regardless but it was SO MUCH MORE THAN I COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED. I thought the story was going to conclude but it feels as if it’s only just begun and I remember feeling the exact same way 10 years ago. I really appreciate how despite being a decade later we are able to have so many parts stay the same, it really helps this feel like a sequel but my GOD THE VISUALS ARE SOMETHING ELSE.
Are you okay, do I need to get a box of emotional support cookies for myself or for you? I also don’t know why I thought this was the end of Tobias’ story it feels like the BEGINNING. This has to be the most innovative project I’ve seen in my life, you have done something I didn’t think was possible.
Also isn’t it funny how the after credit scene was Oliver again, I see what you did there. I don’t think I’ll be able to put into words how good this is for a few years because I’m still very young and there’s a lot I know I’m going to understand better when I’m older.
I think the best I can say for now is congratulations, YOU DID IT. YOU SHOULD BE SO PROUD OF YOURSELF SO PROUD. You have made something that will leave your mark on this world forever, even when we are gone this is going to be something that’s leaves an everlasting impression on this world. Take a good long rest you more than deserve it.
