I stumbled on this channel when searching for more info on Ken Ware. What a terrific interview! Matt asks such great questions that demonstrate a lot of insight and he fosters such interesting conversation. And Ken explains things that could be really complex in such an accessible way. Awesome stuff! Thanks.

Oh, Mr Ware! How I wish you could enlighten truck mechanics on how to teach apprentices. The industry needs to be shaken up and catch on to this.

1:18:45 You can't rewire the brain. You can only take something in it's present state and move forward with it. What do we need to do to bring it back on track? The life is not going to be the same as it was before. You can't get to the way you used to run, you perhaps even can run better. You've got to look at the system at it's present state, it is about moving forward. We can't keep talking about history.

57:24 By enriching the environment the person's in, it helps to increase the complexity within the system. Disease, disorder, a sudden loss of petformance, it's a loss of the system's complexity. We need to always to look to increase the complexity of the system.
So by giving it new skills (like balancing on the skateboard), enriching the environment, it enables the system to become more complex.
