It's for the sake of pets that count off of summons, like night crawler, in case he wanted to buy one. If you just combine, it doesn't count as a summon. If you buy and then combine, it will count as a summon. Combining in will still add the 2 atk to the other pet so that isn't the issue 🤗

I actually by mistake found out that, weakness doesn’t count as a perk and I found it out earlier so I could risk it, but I really had no idea

Weak doesn't count as perk.
you could get some husky scaling, but it sucks because weakness doesn't have trigger limits like other ailments.
I got a good emu team and won too! Very satisfying.
I got my first Sloth this weekly and won! too bad it was on round 8 and I couldn't get it to lvl 3
It took me about a full day to finally find a good strat for the weekly and then I won with 5 hearts about 4 times

If he stacked without summoning, it would’ve got +1+1, and if he summoned it, it added +2+1 because ut takes the higher stats +1
