At 7:00, there's a stone duplex on the left side of the screen. That is 704 Main St., which is where my father and his 12 siblings grew up in the 1920s through the '40s. Aunt Margaret lived there until her death in 1973, so the house was in our family for about 50 years.
As a historical note -- and based on a sister-in-law's brother who was present that day as a high schooler in a school group -- the EXACT location that George Wallace was shot 50 years ago (May 1972) is the site where the current Bank of America building is sitting in the middle of the parking lot. You see the BoA building immediately beyond where the white truck has just turned at 15:47
US 1 in Laurel is a LOT like major US highways in most states - basically a Main Street - not necessarily an Interstate. (I grew up in Charles County, MD - where the *Main Street* is Robert Crain Highway/Blue Star Memorial Highway - US 301 - partially duplexed with MD 5). While not the case in Charles County (but is the case in Prince George's County) there is that section with the oversized median on both US highways, where the median is so wide that it houses businesses of its own. While I have seen this in other states, the one state that LACKS this phenomonon is Delaware - which has at least four US highways pass through - 9, 13, 40, and 202. (Note that US 1 doesn't go through Delaware at all - the Boston Post Road goes from Maryland - specifically Havre de Grace and Rising Sun - directly into Pennsylvania - avoiding the Diamond State altogether. Rather unusual, given that it DOES pass through Rhode Island - which is smaller than even Delaware.)
I have lived in Laurel Maryland the past year. I do not like it at all! It's boring and people are not friendly. City has increase in crime and rat infestations.

Wow, very nice tour, this city is amazing my friend! 💚✨
Thanks so much! Lived there in 2003. Worked for Six Flags America as an international temporary.

Wow, that hill on 9th St. though! As always, thanks for the video.
Laurel is such a beautiful place in Maryland. Nice streets and lots of people in popularity.
If you like ghettoization, sure. Also, why visit Mexico when you can just visit Laurel?
@@readwriter I don’t see anything ghetto about it Laurel is too urban to be ghetto lol.

Im visiting from San Diego in a week to spend time with my daughter for her 5th birthday. What is there to do in Laurel for kids?
Hi, Can I use your video in my project, with proper onscreen credits and a link in the description? (PS: This is my temporary account.)
