  • Devin is struggling with a 30yard deep quartering rabbue and Brandon Powell is here to help. We recorded the entire session at Back Woods Quail Club.
The content presented here is mostly uncut, as it happened and fairly raw, with just a little polish. All of the dialog and technical details intact. The highs and the lows, for everyone to experience.
Over the course of 18 minutes we get into hand-speed, small window shooting, difficult targets lines, why moving on the flash may be a bad idea...... all when using the Back Edge of the bird.
It's just a really difficult bird and you get to see why.
We hope you enjoy this video, it's been fun to make!

Loving this content. I like the casual filming style and the long form video was nice.

Just one thing I noticed every time you broke the bird you had the smallest amount of gun movement. Great video!!!

This conversationally, relaxed approach to shooting is perfect for me. Haven't had the opportunity to listen to Brandon Powell in interviews or online coaching sessions, but in my view, he does a rock solid job of saying all that needs to be said and nothing that doesn't in analysis and approach/execution of target. Will welcome upcoming footage - love the "fairly raw, with just a little polish".

Guys this is the best sporting content on the web, please keep up the great work. Now I know why Devin and Keene are dominating New England. Please tell me which books you are showing in the video? Thanks.

Excellent comment, very supportive, thank you.
The videos clips are generally from Anthony Matarese Jr's "Straight shooting", excellent book. No brainer for anyone in the game.
This series also shows the cover and a couple of pages from Bob Bristers "Shotgunning: The Art and Science". Harder to find, I have an old used copy.

Multiple books. Usually the video either calls out the title or shows the title. Typically Anthony Matareses' Straight Shooting.

Thankfully, watching him shoot like that didn't mess Brandon's brain up for the North Central Regional.... 😆

Yes. Brandon was impressive at the regionals. I watched him shoot a 191 on the FITASC. He won that too!

@@mrbritish I think he won everything but 5 stand. Impressive is an understatement.
These vids are great by the way.
You can see the rabbue slowing down considerably on the tail end of the flight vs the initial flash off the machine. Learned a tonne just off that let alone the insights and thought process from one of the best in the game.

This is unbelievable work… I don’t even know what to say, you are making shooting videos that aren’t just over the shoulder view pairs, and you are educating everyone at the same time. You’re getting Scary good at this..
to say this is Well done would be an understatement. Thank you

Stay under the line as the clay starts to drop with stabilized sight picture shooting the right bottom corner of the box quartering birds don't take much lead. 45 yards about 1.5 ft right bottom corner of box
