To all of the new players of apoc, other people may like certain guns better then you, its not based off of how good the gun is, but how well it fits your playstyle. BUT there are meta weapons, some guns simply aren't as good as others, so make sure you use a gun that has atleast some power behind it. At the moment FAL is the main weapon competitive players use, but if you are having trouble with that learn the G3 first and then upgrade yourself when you feel comfortable. Try new things, and remember most (if not all) recoil patterns are genuinely "just pull down" FAL included. oh also "Snakes" is simply the best secondary right now, its on the level of "Patriot" and doesnt take up a primary slot. One tip though, DONT AIM DOWN SIGHTS WITH SNAKES. Just hipfire, trust me. I play mostly Public Servers but spend a good bit of time in Private Servers too, just because a gun is hard to find doesn't mean it isnt good. If you find a gun you want to try out, just use it. Its all about learning. When you get good enough you wont have to worry about finding guns, you just kill people and steal it from them instead.

In my personal opinion my top 5 is: 1. M249 SAW (I once used this with CQR, Short foregrip and op suppressor. This single gun can wipe a server clean. Very controllable recoil, almost as good as AUG, good damage, good for all ranges and 100 mag capacity. I once used this loadout during the drying, I carried my team by killing around 10 people before getting 1 shot by a M1918 Tankgewehr. Another upside is that M249 is pretty common compared to guns like AUG or FAL.) 2. AUG (I am also an experienced player with the AUG as I have used it to wipe squads before. High fire rate, ok damage, very low recoil and 30 capacity mags. Only downsides are that yes you cant use foregrips and sights and its high rarity.) 3. L96A1 (L96A1 is my partner for mid to long range fighting, I can just equip a foregrip on it and the recoil instantly becomes low, and since I have maxed out graphics I can snipe someone in Ashland from the lighthouse in Lockport. Only downsides are rarity and very bad at close range.) 4. M60 (What I said about M249 also applies with this gun, use the right attachments and the recoil will be low, albeit not as low as M249, AUG and a few others, the fire rate is also not as good since M249 has 700 while M60 has about 600 plus its kinda rare. BUT it makes up for it with high damage doing 34 per headshot.) 5. M14 (I'd say this is personally my best "beginner gun" Its common and it shoots well. Only downsides are the 30 mags are kinda rare and the nerf ;-;) Honorable Mentions: - Operator XM177 (Ive never used OP XM much but from what I know, its almost as good as AUG.) - M1918 Tankgewehr (This is one of the only 2 guns that can 1 shot in AR2, only downside is that it only has 1 ammo capacity, ammo is very rare and reloading takes long.) - BSLP (The other gun that can 1 shot, downside is that it can only 1 shot in close range. But personally I like this one too cuz it reminds me of Doomguy)
i think that the MP5K should have gotten an honorable mention... its pretty good although at times a little sluggish due to it's 5 shot (24 damage -_- made worse by the fact that the standard MP5 does 25) however you can put a sight and a muzzle on it, also coming with standard MP5 30 round mags and all that in the package of a secondary. pretty good.
my personal list: 1) M14, kinda hard to control recoil but once you get used to it its crazy. does 35 head (highest dmg out of any auto gun in the game) with nice range and pretty common ammo. 2) M16A1, recoil may seem hard but you can just drag down and it beams like crazy. good damage with a very fast fire rate for a rifle, plus common ammo and not too hard to use without a sight. reflex+admirals is scary on this. 3) M919A6, this is hands down the best LMG in the game. While the PKM might seem better this is just nicer to use for me. High fire rate with great damage, range and ammo count with nice recoil. The only problem i have is how rare it is and the ammo it uses which is quite rare. 4) FAL, With some experience and a sight this is an insane gun. With good fire rate for a battle rifle and one of the highest damages for an auto gun in the game. The only problem for me with this is how quickly it uses ammo if your not careful. 5) AC-556, used to be insane with this gun but when i tried out the M16A1 i stopped. Very good gun, with low recoil, good fire rate, great range and nice damage. However its quite rare and trying to get 30 mags for it is also harder. Honurable mentions: G3, the gun I learned to PVP with. when i was horrible at the game this was the only gun i could use effectively. one time i popped off in a private match and got like 20 kills, and everything changed from there. Snakes MAC10, arguable the best secondary in the game rn. Highest fire rate in the game while being integrally suppressed and overall easy to control. AK-74, wanted to put this on the list but chose the AC-556 over it. Very low recoil with an above average fire rate and great damage with good range. AKM, basically an AK-74 but beefier and better suited for mid range imo. VERY good with a drum, basically an lmg.
People underestimate both M14’s. M14 BR was way better before nerf, but its still amazing, and imo better than the fal. I perfer running DMR over the L9. Shooting 40 headshots is so satisfying because of how fast it shoots. Does amazing damage and has great range, plus a ton of more ammo to expend. Also id recommend trying to use the AK-74, it clears a lot of guns.
The first time I got an operator... I spawned in and In front of me on the road was a truck crash w/ a operator zombie. Total time to find operator? Like 32 seconds. Didn't get reflex tho. :(
I mean one downside about the AUG is the fact out of any assault rifle that uses 5.56 it has the worst bullet drop off and velocity at longer ranges like 200-280 studs the bullet drop is worse than the M16A1 I mean its just for preference cause its just my general experience with the AUG so if im wrong correct me
yeah that’s true it’s feels off trying to hit headshots from mid range since the bullet drop is really bad, and you can’t put a foregrip on it either. I think it deserves #2
imo, guns and tier lists should always be considerate of the current state of the game and everything revolving the guns themselves, for example i cant recommend an fal or g3 at the top 5 level, not because they arent good guns, just because the finding of ammo for these guns is extremely difficult if u are getting into fights alot. thus my tier list would be 1. OP XM177, easy to find ammo, no recoil at all, comes with 3/4 attachments (yes the laser technically isnt an attachment but bare with me) 2. AK74, easy to find ammo if you know where you are looking, especially with new drying event this is basically the only weapon u should be running, good recoil, good dps 3. AKM, easy to find ammo once in soviet areas, easy to find due to party trucks and the abundance of soviet crates, great for ammo in drying event aswell as event zombies dropping it 4. Normal XM177, basically just the OP XM without the hipfire potential, but hipfire in this game has always been pretty accurate regardless of the laser sight 5. M60, one of the hardest ammo types to find, however performs the exact same as the fal in damage and overall stats, except has 100 round mags and spawns with a good chunk of ammo and be aware some of these choices i didnt even want to put on this list, but honestly these should be your best weapons, i love using the BAR and for some reason have enjoyed roaming with the m3a1 while skipping over OP XM's from the bodies of players i kill. your gun doesnt really decide whether u will win a fight or not, you just have to look at what guns are good for you and then weigh the pros and cons up, because theres no point having your favourite gun be a gun that you cant get ammo for (ahem, PKM)
I agree with the Operator and the m60, however the ak74 and akm have pretty bad recoil and very low dmg drop off from range. I do agree that the aks are fairly easy to obtain, however. The regular xm has better counterparts, so I don’t believe that it should be on the list. I was grading guns based on the current state of the game(before the drying) which included damage, accuracy, recoil, and ads speed.
FAL is one of my favorites. Its damage drop off makes it very versatile at multiple ranges and when you learn its recoil and land your headshots, it's unstoppable
no it’s not bannable, since it is just an add on from the Microsoft store. many other players use custom crosshairs since it helps with their hip fire accuracy
Idk, I feel like compared to the other guns in this list the ak 74 has worse recoil and bad dmg drop off with attachments compared to the other guns in this list. It’s all up to you tho, the ak74 is still a pretty good gun
operator is in my opinion the easiest and most boring gun to play but it is the best gun for lower skill players if you have more skill you are better of playing something like fal or g3

Ac-556 is pretty good too. It has "good" recoil, uses mini 14 mag and has the ability to mount all attachments. Rhe only downsides are rarity.
