Beautiful voicing indeed, though I find it easier for myself to voice it as polychords: a minor triad (spread out to 1-5-b3) in the left hand and a major triad (in second inversion) a whole tone below in the right hand. Same voicing but more flexibility in the right hand for doodling around. Great inspiration as always...makes this day a min11-day...
Yes that’s definitely another good way to voice it! Some people struggle reaching the 1-5-b3 in the left hand though so thought I’d teach it this way 😊
Nice one Simon. I was only going to watch the 5 minute video but 30 minutes later I finished watching after stopping here and there, then playing this stuff and recording. Have you ever noticed how dumb search engines are becoming since they introduced "AI" into the equation. My music theory isn't what you would call scintillating, so I thought I'd like to read about minor 11th chords. So search for what is a minor 11th chord. There is only one, "Am11". Now because you searched for that once now searching for "what is minor 11th chord", the smarts says, looks like you missed out the A, so here it is "Am11". It's almost like the infuriating paper clip days of "Looks like you're writing a letter" has returned.
Haha yes I can definitely relate to that Phil! We're definitely in the early days of the AI search engines, but hopefully they will get better with time
Love the sound of this chord! Thanks for explaining it so well and making it so easy. 👌
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed the video :)

Gorgeous voicing! Thanks so much!

First chord sounds like Jill Scott's "He Loves Me"
Wow
GOOD ACTION! How does H.H. voice the major & the diminished chords?
Love the sound of your piano. Electric, right? If so, what setting was it on?
No it's actually just the C7 grand from Keyscape I believe
Resident evil save room

I had no idea this was Herbie Hancock, I got this one from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Always love the vids! But that piano sound is hard to listen to :/
Oh no! What is it you don’t like about the piano? I’m using Keyscape!
