I grew up listening to Ginger and learning to play with him. Loved their first album Fresh Cream and every version of Toad. I was lucky enough to see him live at Brecon Jazz recently in Jazz Confusion. Great player...so musical.
Appreciate the appreciation! It's probably the "cleanest" version (*masterclass version, i like that) of Toad and i love Ginger at all times, but i prefer it "dirty" even more.. nothing compares with prime Ginger Baker 🤟👹❤ I was at his last live gig he ever did, in Berlin with my father who grew up listening to Baker and made me grow up listening to him as well ❤
I'm not a drummer and drum solos aren't my thing. For me, Ginger's best drumming is on the live version of "Spoonful" from the "Wheels of Fire" record. All three band members are totally locked in.
That’s true but ginger like Neil Peart, max roach etc is famous for his musical drum solo’s that why I chose this solo ( Toad ) as it is quite famous in itself! 😎😀
Maybe there's some truth in the old aphorism, "Redheads have nasty tempers." Regardless, he was a great drummer, and respected by Max Roach, Art Blakey, and Elvin Jones. ❤
My idol . The best

That’s awesome! As difficult as Ginger was he certainly was a great musician!

Amazing, you’re very lucky!! Thanks for your comment
The drums sound killer. Wish I could have been there for the reunion. Saw them about 3 times in the 60's.
Wow that’s amazing
@@drumteacher43 All in San Francisco at the Fillmore. 🙂
Love ❤ Ginger. Love ❤ Cream. Was at the third night of the 2005 reunion in London.
Wow that’s awesome 😎

The Ginger documentary is called "Beware of Mr. Baker"
Great documentary. Loved it!
This is not a drum solo. It's a fully formed musical piece that has evolved over 50 years, composed and improvised for drumset.
I agree, ☝️

Yes he was! My sons a red head so I think there is something to the temper thing, lol 😂
Me redhead.........Me have temper. 😄
The tempo only drifts a few bpm's from beginning to end, even through all the different passages.
