Thank you Lisa! This time lapse actually helped me so much to get a better understanding on how to better use the brushes to obtain that vintage kind of worn out effect in my illustrations. It is really fascinating to watch your choices along the way and how many passes you take for all the details. Absolutely beautiful! I watched almost all of it at .25 speed and enjoyed every minute!
Yay! So glad you enjoyed that! It's funny you mention how many passes I make, because in my early days of drawing I would get disappointed very quickly with my art because it looked so "flat", but since then I've realise that in order to get a really rich textured finish piece you have to build on it. Without the extra touches the drawing just doesn't have the same life to it. It's fun to watch how something can come "alive" just by layering details.😀

hello Lisa !! can I ask you how to decide the colors being used for shadows?
Yes of course! Usually shadows are cooler in tone, so I usually use a muted purple-ish type colour. Sometimes I then use a warmer sepia shadow layer on top of that to intensify areas. Have a look at this Pin, you'll notice how purple/blue their shadow colour is which works very well with their painting: za.pinterest.com/pin/844213892669248185/ I definitely recommend experimenting with the tone that works best for your colour palette you generally use, but cool shadows are a good starting point.
