      Go back and look up how few MVP's Wilt has despite the numbers he put up. If you want him to get what Wilt got, he's only 1 MVP off from Wilt despite Wilt dominating for twice as long.
      If you want him to be treated like Wilt, he has 1 more MVP to win for the rest of his career. lol Or do you want him to be treated better than Wilt? lol Be honest now.

    Quick geography/history lesson. Although Arvydas Sabonis’s prime was during the time when Yugoslavia existed that is not where he is from. Instead Garnett should have said USSR as Sabonis is from the former Soviet state/ current independent nation of Lithuania. A lot of confusion seems to come from the terms Balkan and Baltic where Yugoslavia was roughly Balkan and Lithuania Baltic.

      @KClouisville 10 дней назад +9

      It's probably 3/4 of it. I read that recent biography about him and it kind of supports that idea in that when he was a kid, he could excel in basketball without really trying, but was easily distracted, was quick to want to do other stuff, hated practice, etc. In gifted kids you'll often see that kind of impatience...they're already ahead of the curve and don't want to go over rudimentary stuff again. You can see that kind of thing with him today...like earlier in the season if you watch that footage of Gobert and Ant being amazed he knew the play they were running and explaining it to his teammates without anyone on the Wolves actually saying it out loud. His biggest challenge was getting into better shape his first few years in the league...as his diet had been garbage for years leading up to being drafted.

    • @KClouisville
      @KClouisville 10 дней назад +1

      They're talking about general speed, leaping ability and lateral quickness.....common high points as to what makes a good basketball athlete. Jokic doesn't excel at any of that stuff....but he makes up for it in other areas so well it doesn't really matter. Jokic does have quick first moves and his timing on rebounds is great....but people don't generally think of stuff like timing as an athletic ability....or at least a natural, biological athletic ability....more of the mental game plays into it too. I watched Larry Bird and it was similar....he wasn't a super "natural athlete" either (though before his back injury he was more athletic than people nowadays think he was). However, he had a quick first step, great timing, great anticipation and super fast hands.

      @@mja4wp I would agree, as Wilt has been deceased (RIP) for a few years now ;)
      Back in his playing days, Wilt was far more athletic (world class athlete in track/field, baseball and volleyball), faster (world class speed - beat Jim Brown in a race), bigger / stronger (no question there as Wilt's strength was legendary) and had far more endurance (lead the league numerous times in mins played and had a season where he averaged more than 48 mins per game - no such thing as load-management back in his day). Wilt played in a totally different era, where centers took a physical beating every game. Wilt had his two front teeth knocked out by an opposing player in his rookie season. Joker is blessed with many gifts and today's NBA is a great fit for him. Put him in the game 20+ years ago and things would be totally different for him and his style of play. It's likely he would have played power forward given his gift at passing. Wilt would also be a natural fit for today's game and would be a monster given, as previously stated, his athleticism, speed, strength and endurance. Now only if the Big Dipper could have hit free throws = like many of the great big men of the past (Shaq and Russel to name just two), that was his kryptonite ;)

    Pierce falling back on the tired trope of "who's the face of the league"? The good thing about sports history is that it is about statistics first and 50 years from now, no one will care who "the face of the league was" when reciting Jokic's historical stats. So tired of the likes of Pierce and Agent alwaysZero continuously working to undermine Jokic's talent because he doesn't fit their idea of an NBA alpha. Get over it.

    Guards will always be the face of the league. When people watch them they are infinitely more stylish and relatable, and it affects viewers emotionally. As great and efficient as big men get, no one can relate to them because they are such genetically gifted behemoths.

    • @lelov1392

      Wilt was giant playing with weaker opposition compared to today’s EVOLVED players. If Wilt plays with today’s player, with ball handling skills alone he would commit a lot of turnovers. Remember how Kareem shut him down. Now, imagine Jokic playing basketball with the caliber of players that wilt was playing with. Jokic is the better and evolved version of Wilt.

    • @peat381low8
      @peat381low8 10 дней назад

      @ Wilt Played against Kareem in his prime. And blocked his skyhook twice. The video is there in RUclips. And Wilt was old already. Guys can’t play 82 games now yet they are better. Tyler Hero would be snapped in half if he went up for a layup in those days. The dude barely eats.

Domantas, the son, is having better games in his sleep compared what his pops had. Ye, he was old when he got to the NBA. But miss everyone, not just me, with the bullshit. Him and Wilt both benefitted from the same thing, dominating in much smaller eras where it's easier for players to put up crazy numbers.
      It doesn't make either of them objectively better than the great bigs of the 90's and 2000's. They just have more freedom as players to dominate.

    I still think Wilt is more dominant.
    But they really had so much in common yet also very different.
    Jok shoots, pass and thinks (basketball IQ) better obviously.
    On the other hand, Wilt was a freak of an athlete but finessed his way instead of imposing his physique.
