Great review! Innovations is the key. The carbon fibre tyre, detachable pedal and integrated rear light gives rider like us a complete package of a sporty foldies. No doubt brompton is good, but the camp royale with these upgrades and price point is truly impressive which make more sense to me as a practical rider. Thanks bro for the valuable info, i will bring my cousin down to bukit batok showroom next week for a test drive n i had subscribed your channel. Keep up the good work!
Singapore is definitely one nation where you can tour the whole country by means of cycling. And we are actively working on building up more bicycle lane, to make this more convenient and safe. Well, Singapore is currently open for travelling via means of vaccinated travel lanes. So if you are part of the vaccinated travel lanes, you can make it work (it will be quite costly though - with all the tests required) If you are planning a holiday, you can consider Singapore. It will be a sunny ride (most of the time). safetravel.ica.gov.sg/vtl/requirements-and-process
You are right. Now a days lotsa things are OEM from china. Just giving a quick look on the foldie. At the end, it boil to down you guys on what do you want to purchase. Cheers!
Hi Peter, unfortunately I did not do a gear ratio test for the bike. I will keep this in my note, next time if I do a review on bike again I will factor that in.
thank you very much for thsi very detailed review. It was well done and you explained the features very descriptively. really good review video which is very useful in deciding which bike to purchase.
Is there anything I could do to the bike so it can hold more weight? Can I switch out the rims and tires to a stronger set? I’m a bit over the weight limit but I would love to have one of these.
It is possible to change the rim and tires out. But you would have to find a reliable shop to help you. Perhaps, you can check with Mobot and consult them. 🙂
ewpl so it's the rims and tires that's the week link? Had a feeling that was it. Maybe composite rims and more mountain bike style tires will do the trick? Thanks for the comment.
@@becomeaudible1 It might not be. The frame might play a part too. So I recommend you to check with their rep. They should be at the best position to advise you. Remember safety first! Cheers
One of my friend bought the Royale and he managed to change out the stock rack to a bigger brompton like rear rack. But the stock rear mudguard seems to be giving him some trouble. You can take a look at a photo of the rack at imgur.com/tj3DKK2
Base on pure quality. Brompton is better. But if you factor in budget, then the Camp Royale is a worthy choice. If you are going to go for modification. And modify your parts base on your own riding habits, the camp Royale is a good base start. If you want pure quality from stocks (no mods) , Brompton.
It is a carbon copy of a Brompton. You buy a bike like this and you are not supporting innovation...you are supporting a company that steals a design, reproduces it cheaply and helps to destroy the work of the original company that produces a top quality product. When companies like this steal designs...they make it so that others won't even bother bringing their designs to market, because they can just be taken. Never mind the millions of dollars Brompton have spent engineering the product to be better....these guys can just swoop in when the hard work is done and take the glory. We all love cheap...but that's what you get here....cheap on morals, cheap on innovation, cheap on quality.
In many cases, Brompton is still the better foldie compared to the Royale. I think if you are affluent enough, it will be good to support the original. At the end, it is up to individual to choose. No one forcing anybody.
It looks like a Brompton but there are slight diff between the parts. Brompton has got some premium parts. Also, their patent had expired. So free for all.
Would be interested in reviewing this foldie again after months of using it. The pros and cons. Nice review btw.
I don’t own it thought. But I have a friend that own it. I see if I can set one up with him 🫡

It is a OEM bike from China. The bike is produce wholly in China. It is mainly produce mainly by pinching design technology.

OMG! This is exactly a copy imitation of Brompton. This a disrespect of somebody works. The world is filled with leeches.

Just steal someones hard work and imagination. Thievery. Worst kind of people.
The patent expired. The genie is out of the bottle.
Is there alloy frame version
I am not sure. You will have to check with Mobot
