It's so satisfying when fellow RUclipsrs can inspire each other.

I like your adapted Makita sander. Nicely finished rest. I'm going to groove my grinder rests when I get round to it.

Thanks, the belt sander works quite well considering, I am going to groove mine as well but I just got to think how I can do it with the guide getting affected, thanks for stopping by. Matty

Great Job Marty. That’s really going to be handy, plus you’ll get accurate Grinds.👍😁

Hey Matty. Just catching up on your previous videos. You mentioned pulling apart and showing off the indicator. If you haven't already done that (I haven't yet seen all your videos), then I would be interested in seeing what you've done. Particularly on the return spring and the magnets. Cheers, Craig

thats a really nice tool rest and that indicator is really neat, it would be interesting to do something similar with like a 6" dial indicator or something like that for a longer travel dial for the lathe. Also, have you tried snugging up the gibs on the indicator? Ive had that same repeatability problem with import digitial calipers, then after snugging up the gibs inside of them, it started going back to zero or to the same measurement every time.

Gday Chirpy's, Thanks, I will have a go at the gibs, I didn’t give that a thought, I made a 6” one for the tailstock on the lathe and it always repeats, I didn’t realise how many times I use it and it takes the guess work out of how deep you a drilling, very very handy tool and cheap to make, ATB Chirpy
