That brings back memories. I had that 1983 truck in the 2wd, long bed edition. Loved the sound of the 22R engine. That thing could take a beating, and even ran with zero coolant on the 5 freeway after an unexpected leak....with no ill effects after it cooled down and got another drink of water: just kept going. I even had the alternator go out and the battery ran the truck for almost a week just fine. With proper maintenance, that thing ran perfectly for 10 years until I sold it in 1996 for what I paid for it in 1986: $2200.
