Maybe I'm sentmental, watching this on what would have been James Dean's 93rd birthday, but I thought this movie was well done. There is a lot of talk about the actor's not looking or sounding enough like the part. Fact is nobody could fill the shoes of a young man who died before reaching his full potential, before figuring out what life was all about. I'm glad he had this one last visit with his family. But I wish that he would have had thousands more. Wish he had made 100 more films, directed, did any number of things and lived a full and happy life. Happy Birthday Jimmy, your're not forgotten.
Beautiful. The Talent on display here, particularly in the dinning car soliloquy works in a strange reflective wormhole, where Dehan's brilliance reflects Dean's fantastic performative skills in telling a story, yet its Dean's wholly original talent making possible the entire emotional reality which actors today find themselves able to thrive in. I kind of like this circular ode to the Source, especially when in a key so humbly dressed down and tender hearted.
He does not look like James Dean at all! That is a pretty important aspect to miss the mark on. Huge James Dean fan here. Love Pattinson so I am still excited to watch.
Decent film....but the problem with EVERY James Dean bio-pic that has been made or ever will be made is that there will NEVER EVER EVER be found an actor that can convincingly convey Jimmy's talent and CERTAINLY not his beauty & charisma & PRESENCE. Jimmy was a once-in-a-century PHENONMENON. He was LITERALLY an angel come to Earth. Deal With It. SELAH JAMES DEAN LIVES
This movie should have made at least an extra one hour in length. This version just started at the end to go beneath the surface of James Dean's life! Well made project and very enjoyable movie indeed!!!
An introspective almost claustrophobic movie- even when the action moves to Indiana. Unfortunately for me the entire movie was spoiled by that helium cartoon voice that was so far off beam as a representation of Dean's. I struggled through that.
In a film like this , CGI would have done a better job. There is in fact a CGI project with Dean recreated alongside human actors. Never liked look alike imitators...
The movie really resonates with me. Its very authentic, natural and deep. Ever since the first time I watched it a few years ago, it stays in my top 5 favorite films of all time.
No, but did you catch the hilarity 11:05 James Dean: "Dennis be the wedding photographer. How's that sound Dennis?" Dennis Stock: "Yeah, thats my aim in life."
What’s surprise me about the most about the cast is Dane Dehaan and James Franco who both potrayed as James dean went on to became Harry Osborne in different sequels
The Talent on display here, particularly in the dinning car soliloquy works in strange reflective loops, where Dehan's brilliance is reflecting Dean's fantastic performative skills in telling a story about his early life, yet it is Dean's wholly original talent which makes possible the entire emotional reality which todays actors find themselves able to thrive in. I kind of like this circular ode to the Source, especially when in a minor key so dressed down and tender hearted.
I love how physically, Dan Dehaan doesn’t really look like James Dean, but really captured the essence of him. The confident and collected facade, but also the insecure child at the heart of him desperately seeking approval from those around him. While James Franco certainly looked the part physically in the movie he did I don’t think he came close to capturing the vulnerability of the man like Dehaan did.
Robert Pattinson IS the James Dean of our time and indicative of what James Dean would have been if he had lived longer. He is far more than just a superstar. So much more to him. And he doesn’t seem to even realize it or grasp the extent.
I’m a HUGE JD fan. Have read almost everything in the last 30 years. Something about Jimmy. I really liked this movie and just got past the look and sound of this actor and thought about everything else, who Dean was, ect.
Awful. Patterson is stellar, but Dane DeHaan is awful as Dean - that voice is peculiar, creepy, and nothing like Dean's voice (there are numerous clips with Dean talking to be found on RUclips, so listen for yourself). And that wig he wears...naaah, absolute pants.
Fir me it was a nice attempt. But the thing many actors get wrong is they play the image of Dean so it’s one deminsion all and stagnate. He was quiet yes but opened up and was more intelligent energetic childlike and exploring they miss all that and just play him cool and lazy. So it become long and drab.
Good movie longer than I thought it would be ,but dane deehan captured James dean's essence and personality well ,but he didn't really look like him ,and I thought robert pattinson looks more like james dean and dane deehan as the photographer respectively next he should do and play a bio on and about leonardo dicaprio ,because he looks more like Leo than James dean.
I don't think they would have found the wrong actor to play James Dean even if they did a special casting for it, this guy doesn't physically look like James Dean, he's starting to go bald, he looks like he's dying from drugs or something, the movie is boring, it's full of pointless melodrama, a mess of a movie

Grow tf up
He doesn't look or sound like James Dean.
James Franco did the best job portraying Jimmy.
This guy did pretty good too ...ruclips.net/video/4XX2IFuT9yc/видео.html
No the Movie of 1976 was better

Enter Austin butler ❤
AGREE!!!!! :)

this is one of the movies that I've been looking for for almost a year, thank you for uploading ❤️

Harry had that James Dean vibe maybe? Devil May care rich kid
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ James Dean is my crush hope that I will live in the 1950’s
This Was A Really Great Movie.
Great movie - wonderfully under played acting maintaining the look & feel of the era, many thanks for posting.
Robert with the classic hairstyle is looking so pretty ❤❤❤
James Dean GOAT and DeHaan does a superb job
A gem! What a beautiful and deep movie.
Robert Pattinson looks more like James Dean than the actor playing James Dean
I was thinking the same thing!
This movie was very natural. I loved it. Every piece of it.

Beautiful film always found the life of James interesting very nice depiction thanks💖💖💖💖
What is this film called please

"Dan"???? 😂😂😂😂
Yo solo miro las peliculas donde participa robert pattinson para mi el siempre es el protagonista
thanks very much I am fun of photographer Anton Corbjin and this a tribute to Dennis Stock and LIFE magazine
nothing against that actor but he is not even close in his portrail as James dean. James Franco Nailed it in the 2001 Film.
Awesome movie thank you for the upload
I love James Dean so I like to watch everything related to him. Sorry to say but James Franco did it better, this guy's voice bothered me.

Best 1 I've seen
I agree.
Un film minunat care, arată latura sentimentala și sensibilă a lui James Dean .!!!
🧡Love🧡this🧡movie🧡
🧡love🧡Dane🧡DeHann🧡
Austin butler could be a great pick for a james dean biopic
Robert Pattinson IS the James Dean of our time and indicative of what James Dean would have been if he had lived longer. He is far more than just a superstar. So much more to him. And he doesn’t seem to even realize it or grasp the extent.
Just why? James Franco version was perfect. This one does not come close
GRACIAS ....
I really want the score to this movie but I literally cannot find it anywhere >:(
Wonderful movie
What's this movie about?
It is about the young promising actor James Dean and his photographer
It’s almost like a biopic ☺️
I seriously doubt Dean slept with Angeli. She was a staunch Catholic and her mother was constantly with her.
Who greenlit Dane as James Dean?😒
Total misrepresentation of the actual James Dean. It's a cringe to watch.
I thought he did a great job. tormented soul
I’m a HUGE JD fan. Have read almost everything in the last 30 years. Something about Jimmy. I really liked this movie and just got past the look and sound of this actor and thought about everything else, who Dean was, ect.

Donde puedo encontrar el Soundtrack?
The life you might save might be MINE!
Note to biopic stars: Don't try so hard. 😅

Was his "car accident" a sacrifice. Like Paul Walker's?
And Dean didn’t have such a weak voice that put you to sleep.
Franco looked better but the best Movie of Jimmy was from 1976!!!!
This actor mumbles too much.I had to use captions 😂
Why the dark circles under his eyes?
That's Bruce Wayne
CGI would have done a better job - in this case
Did he really give a speech at the dance?
Miscast, poorly acted.
🥰🥰

59:11 or Good bread, good meat, good God, let's eat
This actor doesn't bring out the beauty and edgy grit of jd at all...sad not handsome performance
Garbage film
This movie was garbage truck juice
Why?
@@Pelleohlinssnusdid u watch it?
@@seamusegan7127 yes
I tried for alot longer than normal to watch this but in the end i couldnt watch anymore, sorry its bad
Try watching The Smokers with Dominique Swain from the early 2000s. It's so bad it's almost hypnotic. You have to see it!
Guy looks NOTHING like Dean. The disimilarity is too distracting.
It probably would have worked better if Pattinson played James Dean instead of this Harold Lloyd lookalike who also sounds nothing like Dean.
