Power chords are easy, I've been playing now for like 8 months roughly once, I'd start off practicing an easy scale and doing open chords so you can learn to move your fingers, especially your pinky, you need to use that as much as you can to strengthen that finger

He primarily plays a Gibson Les Paul but those are 700+ guitars. Epiphone guitars are a bit more budget friendly. I'd suggest trying out a Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro II.
His guitar is not a fender. It’s a fender copy by a brand called Fernandes. If you want something like his, buy a fender or a Squier and mod it yourself

The mini intro to main intro easily has that effect for me. I love the sudden burst into heavy guitar after the short drum fill.
