Although the people in his chats were toxic, Etika himself stated multiple times that he enjoyed the spamming and memeing. I hated it so much, I often just turned the chat off. At the end of the day, people being mean, not taking things seriously, and disrespecting him was not good for him, even if he was used to that on forum websites.

It breaks my heart that I remember watching these Persona streams of his attentively, as what had hooked me was the flashy-ness of the P5 style and the music, and throw that in with Etika's humor for a truly enjoyable time. P5 was one of the first pieces of anime content I engaged with that broke me out of the "anime is cringe" shell I seemed to have been comfortable in during middle school. Etika helped get me into the series just by him trying it out on stream, and I bought the game just a couple of weeks later and adored it. I wanted so badly for him to keep playing because I know it would have been an experience he'd love. I would say he isn't the kind of guy to put over 100+ hours into a JRPG and stream it, but... he did quite literally that with Xenoblade lol. P5 isn't the only thing I would have loved to see him experience, I just would have loved to see him still streaming, still being a goofball, still streaming inconsistently where you'd be minding your own business one moment and then spending the rest of the day watching a stream the next. I miss you Etika.

Sadly, I wasn't a friend in his life to help him out. In his sorry video, he did say that he pushed people away from him and that he's alone now. That what really pushed him over the edge, but if he really pushed people away from him. Why the fuck did they fucking give up on him when they see he's not in the right mindset? It's too late now. All I can say is RIP Etika.

I miss Etika. I can't say I was a fan, I criticized him a lot. But man.... I've never been able to say this about anyone else but his personality was addicting. And after he moved away from making dick jokes out of everything, he grew on me when I saw him less as just a gross dude that just talks about stuff. and before I knew it, I frequently attended his late night streams just to hang. Watching his mental health decline was really hard to watch and it was infuriating how his "fans" just cheered him on while he was suffering. I'm not sure if I'm qualified to say anything good about Etika since, as I said, I criticized him a lot and frequently voiced my lack of respect for him before I knew how much pain he was in. But I can say with full confidence, there will never be another soul on this Earth like him. His was a rare kind of light that we all took for granted. And, I just miss him. Such a good guy with a big personality.
Now that P5 is on Xbox and Switch I can finally watch these old streams. Man, I miss Etika dude. I wish I could have tuned in to every one of his streams back in the day.
It's a real shame he never got to finish P5, I know for certain persona is a game series he would've really enjoyed. Rest in peace dude, I hope you're able to finish this game and many others wherever you are right now. We won't be forgetting you any time soon.
the other day, i finally beat persona 5 royal after starting on the ps4 when i was 15. i ended up moving away and lost my ps4 along with the save data, but when i turned 16 i bought a switch. now i’m 17, and since persona 5 royal came out on switch, ive clocked 150+ hours and im now on my 2nd NG+. RIP etika bro

I picked up Persona 5 after Etika gave it a try in this stream especially after hearing about how great it was and all. I ended up passing the game before he ever streamed it again and I remember being so excited to see his reactions not only to the game but the MUSIC. I haven't gone back since I entered the acid jazz genre through this game. I remember reacting to that intro with him I was jamming my damn self lol now here I am singing along. Wish I could've jammed with him a bit more on this one..such a great time that would've been.
