no tea no shade to anyone specifically, but I adore that you can read multiple books in a vlog and have the videos be under 25/30 minutes. greatly appreciate the conciseness and your vlogs in general, thanks!
This is validating my thoughts about The Seven Year Slip. I ended up DNF’ing it because The Dead Romantics was a 1 star read for me, so when I was struggling with TSYS I figured it was time to accept that Ashley Poston isn’t for me
So happy to be included in this video even though seven year slip wasn’t your cup of tea!! 😊 I also gave Bloom 4 stars, I thought some of the ending was a little predictable but it was still such a fun time to read! 👀
There's also a Korean version of it called Il Mare that is very good as well! I think I actually watched that in high school before I watched the American one. But I love them both!!
Since you liked the vibes of India in the Bandit Queens, I would recommend Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo - it was SO atmospheric I could have sworn I was there with them.
Listen, I'm currently struggling with stomach pain and watching this video to cheer myself up and I've just noticed what's written on your green t-shirt. I can't 🤣
It’s also so funny because I felt the sameeee. His name was James Iwan and a lot of southern people go by their middle name. But he was so finicky about it, like she had to call him James in modern day…. Yet he called her lemon 😅😂
First thank you for featuring me in this video! I’m sorry seven year slip didn’t work for you. Lmao also why didn’t I know that the premise of flawless is that he gets in trouble for saying he doesn’t like milk 🤣I skipped flawless but maybe I should go back and read it
I wanted to feel all the things you were saying about the seven year slip but I just wasn't a girlie who got it 🥲 also you skipped flawless!? You should def go back
@@sarawithoutanHthat’s okay! I don’t think it’s a book that will work for everyone even if I really loved it. And yes I did skip it 😬I don’t remember why but I just went straight to Reckless
I read Flawless earlier this month, and I liked it other than the fact that Summer kept "blowing raspberries" and "rolling her lips" which kind of annoyed me, but I recently started the sequel Heartless and I am literally so obsessed I can't even describe it!
I’m so glad you posted this video. because. I did nawt like Ashley Poston’s other romance novel and I was feeling pressure to read The Seven Year Slip because everyone seems to be obsessed with it!! but now I’m not gonna waste my time 🫡
Sara just discovered you channel. Thank you really enjoy your videos❤️Finally someone who brings up animal abuse as a trigger. I can tolerate a lot but the animal stuff I never will.❤️I really appreciate booktubers, especially when you read the bad stuff so the rest of us don’t have too.🤗That’s a big deal for me.❤️❤️
Booktube bestie!!! So sad you didn't love the bandit queens but you're right we're even now 😂 if you haven't read the saint of steel series I highly reccomend! It's the same world as swordheart. You've convinced me to read flawless. Liberal cowboys? Sign me up.
If that's the paladins grace series then yes it was on my tbr so I definitely should read it! I almooostttt read it off your list but I think I didn't bc it was technically an honorable mention?
I loved that you liked that the characters in You, Again are flawed! Yes, Ari is complicated, Josh is arrogant (and I loved that he didn't change that much in this aspect, he is still arrogant), but people are not perfect! This doesn't mean they don't evolve, they are not the same in the end as they were in the beginning, is just that they don't become other people. I will read the next book by Kate Goldbeck, for sure
I bought "The Seven Year Slip" and "Flawless" last month. I just finished "The Seven Year Slip" and felt exactly the same sentiment... I was so worried Flawless was going to be another let down and this review has given me hope and the strength to start "Flawless" (another highly praised book). As long as there aren't any "crooked smiles" or "pale grey eyes" mentioned every other page I should be good!

I didn't finish The Bandit Queens, the chaos was such a big issue for me too honestly. I was listening to the audiobook and I couldn't get where it was going anymore
I read the Bandit Queens because of your video. So I paused this video and read it and now I'm back. I enjoyed the book, I thought it was funny, loved the banter binged it in a day. But and it's a big but throughout the book I the depiction of an Indian village and the city near it felt like it was written by someone who has never lived in India or lived in a village for a long time. And reading the authors note made me feel so validated. Her depiction of an indian village reminded me of how they used by in the 90s. Even the caste issue was very in your face. When it's more nuanced than that.
I was on edge about you reading flawless cause like Jana and I would have died hahah now that you loveed it I have higher hopes you will love daddy Cade in heartless which is Riley and mines ultimate fave ❤ I am surprised you didn’t enjoy seven year split 😢

💖 I read The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston and thought it was fine, but predictable and forgettable. I’ve been debating picking up The Seven Year Slip but I think I will avoid it now hahahaha
It's all subjective. What someone likes, someone else might hate. I like Marlon Brando's response to being called the greatest actor ever. "Everyone always thinks in these black and white terms. Greatest, Worse, Best, Least. It implies everything in between has nothing of value."
if you mean the brandon sanderson above my head that is yumi and the night painter. or if you mean the one left of me on display that's anne of green gables.
Seven year slip is one of the worst books I've read in a long time. It's corny in a bad way and the thoughts and words of the main character are teenage girl diary level cringe. It's hard to comprehend for me that this is what thousands of readers consider cute.
