It's all about balance when it comes to taking profit. Can't be too greedy, can't be too quick to take profit either. I think learning when to spot trend reversals is key as well! Awesome video Alex! 🍺

The worst is when you don't take small profits, then sell on a stop hunt, only to watch the price go above where you chose not to sell in the first place because you didn't have a plan.

Knowing when to cut or when to let it ride is so key. I spent a good chunk of July learning that. I was so used to all in, all out method that having starters and a core to work with was hard at first. Still learning and making mistakes but having starters then adding core when it proves right is key. at least it is for me. Learning risk management and maximize gains is hard work :) :)

I love watching your channel to hear everyone else's stories. It was GREAT to hear yours. I have been learning for about 9 months now. Work full time and study whenever I can. What I am doing now is take 75% off of my position at the first target and let the 25% run either stopping at BE or going for the second target. I still need to work better on this topic.

Fantastic short video! I really needed to hear this as a form of validation. As a long bias trader, often times end up cutting gains quickly (out of fear trend will abruptly reverse), and letting losses ride (just b/c it is so difficult to cut them). It has become so bad that I feel if I do exactly what I am doing now, but on the short side, I should become profitable...LOL. The dark side...that is next! I thought there was something very wrong with me...until now!

have a set return you want, say $300, or $500, put your sell order in ahead of time to get that amount, and be happy with it, if you risk riding the wave up to the top, when momentum slows, by the time everyone is selling it will be too late for your order to go through, you must sell when everyone is buying, and risk losing some profit, if you wait until momentum slows it will be to late, computerized algorithms will beat you to the execution of an order...

another great video, today, after the first runup i decided without reason that btc should go down... i tried to short every shooting star on btc (dreaming of some mega reversal), i got all the peaks, only i did not even consider the uptrend-line -.-, should have jsut let it run instead of reading some reversal signs that were never confirmed

Great video. This is something I'm struggling with now. Do you ever record your traders? Would be really cool to see a slowed down, real example and walk through of this. Would really help. Thank you for all your videos they help a lot.

I have no problem cutting losers, but letting winning trades ride is incredibly hard for me. Those big ones might not come often but when they do, and you sell WAY to early. Man that hurts... lol
We have to let them ride...its the whole reason why we trade. Bigger Returns and small losses. Or! You can hit that like button and i hear thats an auto-matic big return day!
So when it comes to risk reward to determine when to cut a loss and take gains. A 3-1 risk reward based off a $1 stock. $.90 is my stop loss. $1.30 is my target ‘reward’. What if it goes to $1.25, but starts trending downward and potentially goes back to the stop loss. How do you let that $1.30 number go?
Because we all know it’s going to bounce and hit our target 🤔🙄

You need to determine if your okay with almost 3-1 or not. Thats up to youa s a trader. Each trade also is unique, some stocks that may be good enough while others thats not worth a trade. ya know? Thx for watching, please remember to like this video to help us continue to grow the show :)

Liked the title, but I wish you would've presented and actual example on a chart. This is a major struggle of mine, marking out S/R lvls only to see what appears to be a "new" S/R lvl forming inside of the original S/R lvls. How do you manage trades like that?

How about when my system calls for 2R target but i see a pivot point thats at 4R. Price starts pulling back and I take my 2R profit but it ended up hitting the 4R as planned. Was I right or wrong
Funny man, just earlier I exited a big chunk of my position on a swing just before the big move I was expecting. I just got slightly impatient, not in the right mindset this past two days.

I cut losses on one bar. The bar I buy is the bar Im protecting. If the reason I bought gets eliminated, why would I still want it
My biggest problem is that I cut my winners too soon
Yeah man this can be very difficult for most. But you must find a way to stay on your winners and have a plan and stick with it, Set stop loss and profit targets. Maybe take some off along the way but baby pieces until the PRICE target. I wish you the best! Oh and remember to like the video ;-)
