I am a HUGE Borderlands fan. I have every entry of the series over multiple consoles and I have probably a few thousand hours into the whole series at the very least. This entry was a double edged sword for me. I personally enjoyed it quite a bit when it first released, but by the time I finished the story, all the side quests, and completed the first 20 (or 30?) levels of chaos chambers (before they upped it to 100) with one character, i lost interest in it and haven’t picked it up since then. I also played I think 2 of the 4 “DLCs” and that soured the experience even more for me. I had a great time with one playthrough but the endgame content is very disappointing and not even close to what the BL series usually delivers and that really turned me off from the game. I still play BL1, 2, and 3 regularly to this day, and I strongly recommend picking up any of them over this game if you’re trying to get into the series. You can get the collection of 1,2, and the pre sequel and all their DLCs in one purchase for probably $20 or less, and then get 3 with all the DLC which is also usually on sale for $30-50 if not less on a sale. Don’t pay more than $20 for this game, or even less if you can get a sale.
@@John_R_Jackson_III well the short version would be that wonderlands is more like the bunkers and badasses DLC from BL2 I guess. Gameplay and mechanics are the same but it’s set in a medieval setting, supposed to kinda mimic if the characters were in like a Dungeons and Dragons type game. If you like 3, it’s similar, but 3 is better in my opinion and has a lot more content for it. I personally wouldn’t pay more than $20 for Wonderlands, but others may like it more than I do.
@@John_R_Jackson_III you have more customization, the classes are different and there are more combinable options( with the multyclass), they allow you to experiment more, the weapons are no longer tied to the Chaos level so you can find a very strong weapon at chaos 1 and keep it up to 100 easily, the campaign it doesn't last as long as Borderlands 3, but still doing secondary etc you get to more than 30 hours quietly and on PC it's finally optimized as it should. I bought it complete for 30 bucks and I don't regret it so far, I don't match many of the criticisms made and I don't think it's as bad or as bad as they say, I feel a lot like what the presequel did with the 2, it has its flaws and to describe everything better it would take much more time, if you like Borderlands and you can find it at a reduced price, I would give it a chance😌
I'd been debating getting this for a while as a massive Borderlands fan but have had limited time to dedicate to a new game - love that you covered the review both in a 2-minute bite and a longform review, and with such a mellow style - really a great way to absorb the review. Will keep an eye on the sales as instructed... :)
Accidentally saw this on clearance $15 at a Walmart, No brainer ! Always fun to just shoot and loot in the Borderlands world, even it is not as amazing the first two.
This game had potential for themed expansions like other than medieval table-top rpgs, but gearbox dropped the ball hard with this game and released 4 "DLCs" that are glorified 30 min dungeons with a couple of new classes
The chaotic edition of this game is on sale clearance for me on Xbox for about 22.50 dollars right now not bad for the whole complete edition of the game might pick it up
I'm gonna give it one more try, I kinda ruined it when it came out because I watched all those build videos on youtube... It just ended in alot of pressure.
It's fun but not enough content to replay it because it gets repetitive pretty fast. Short story , no dlcs , no new game plus and bad drops. bl2 best story , bl3 most content. Play those instead
(spoilers) . . . . I wish the game had new game plus, you could respec the second class at will and the main class after beating the game, class mods had more than one combination of affected perks per class combination, there was actually good DLC like in the other games, there were less legendary drops, and there wasn't very repetitive dialogue in the tavern. The DLC is frustrating and disappointing. I liked my first playthrough but was shocked and disappointed by what little there was to do after that.
Just finished getting my second character to level 40, yeah the endgame is pretty meh compared to the other Borderlands games. But I enjoyed playing it nonetheless.
i was wondering if i can ask, in the endgame are you forced to use the over world? i know you mentioned you could skip it when fast travel is unlocked but is there any endgame stuff that absolutely forces you to do the overworld each "run" or is it ok? the game is on sale for like $11 on humble and im humbly trying to figure out if the game is worth it in 2023. it looks like its similar to borderlands 3 but also different so idk? did you ever get to play any of the dlc?
Amen I just recently got it and tried to do the full Experience but just can't get Excited for it, all the Woke crap and just lackluster overall I'll try out all the other ""classes "" before going to the Redux Mod
Your voice sounds like you’re almost asleep and at times you’re literally whispering, so with such a soft voice I would recommend turning the music down. But also I recommend a straight back, deep breaths and confident and clear projection of your voice. It sounds like someone is asleep next to you, that you are on the cusp of sleep, that you’re in fear, that you have a lung infection or that you are embarrassed to be speaking? But the words I could hear between your sleepy vocal fry and whispering sound like they might be well written so speak them well and with confidence and enunciate! You have a right to make your video and no one is going to hurt you just for speaking! “The meek shall inherit the earth” is a saying designed to act as a salve against us little people feeling powerless by suggesting we’re the chosen ones so that we’ll stay calm in the knowledge that someday justice will be done. It’s designed to keep us meek. You don’t have to be strident or overbearing and you can be empathetic, considerate and polite but for God’s sake, don’t be an actual mouse! And if someone ever made you feel like you should be a mouse then to Hell with them. But if someone in your life is making you feel like that right now? Talk to your family and friends about it or talk to your doctor or call the police. You are a full grown adult human being with as much right to express yourself as anyone else. ✌️❤️
I loved all the borderlands series, but I'm a bit hesitant about this one just because I find tiny tina so annoying, but so far, looks pretty cool. Is this one also multi player?....
Love the series of Borderlands, but will wait for another sale. Last time I saw it, it was $60 bucks which this game isn’t worth to me. I see Borderlands 3.5, not a new game. Let’s be honest, it’s a lightly veneered reimagining that’s not really ground breaking. It best it’s another DLC to me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll buy as a fan of the series eventually……at $10! I’d love to see this dev jump in whole-hog, not just dipping their toe in this fantasy world. If they were to do that, then I could really get behind it at full price. That’s my two cents.
Hard agree. A slightly stripped down version of this could've been DLC in 3. Effort in class design could've made new vault hunters for that game, and while the overworld is neat in concept, I find it's execution clunky at best. The overworld map could've been a regular open world map, and each map couldve been more thoroughly interconnected.
@@TJones4L I just don't like the part on Elpis - side quest sucked, locations sucked, almost no quest rewards and overall lazy feel. Is Pre Sequel objectively good game? Probably, I just don't really like it
He said only base game well if that's the point good story but bad end game so worth it prolly one of the worst if not worst bls and now it does have cool things yes it does but its not enough to make it a good game and u can duel build so there really no point to make a new build so replayability there's really nun

What’s the biggest difference between this and borderlands 3? I have borderlands 3

I also cut out before the spoilers, great format!
It's definitely worth a $20 price tag. It's shorter than BL3 but a fun playthrough.
very fun playthrough, no endgame content. had a blast playing with friends, writing is much better than bl3 too
Don't get it

Great game as it stands story wise..
Endgame grind is what killed it.. And the season pass DLC is an insult.
just got the game and all docs for 19 but
Great video. Loved the first 2-min everything you need to know! 😁
Glad to hear it KunoWhat! Was hoping to get to the point fast, cheers!

Slow a bit on the talk and speak up jeez!!
The game was rushed and released in a broken state. Dlc is a joke. It deserves it’s bad sales. 2k is better than this.

Couldnt listen to this for more than a minute. Monotone, speaking too fast and the music far too loud.
