Another amazing video. Thank you for making it. Made me remember the first time I played KOTOR 2 back in high school. The scene with protagonist giving money to the beggar and getting scolded by Kreia. Blew my mind. It made me question what good and bad really are.
Brilliant video! KOTOR II is the greatest media in Star Wars with its dark and gloomy atmosphere; with themes of Despair and Hope with relatable characters; memorable antagonists and my favourite take on the force and tropes as awhole, hopefully one day they will update these games and bring the content restoration mod to all platforms.
I found your NFS 2 review, and you struck me as surprisingly intelligent, especially for this platform. Taking one look at this review, and I can definitely confirm my assumption. Liked and subbed. Well done!
I think you hit the nail on the head with this video. The Prequels get a lot of undeserved love these days, and I think that takes such as yours and the Red Letter Media Plinkett reviews are spot on. Star Wars has become increasingly oversaturated, and not enough attention to character development is given where it's needed. The Sequels clumsily tried having nuance, but utterly failed in every way that KOTOR 1 and 2 flourished. Those games are poetic. Marcia Lucas was right when she said that the leadership of Lucasfilm don't understand Star Wars, and don't get the Jedi or the Force. George Lucas himself has stated that studio executives are the worst people you can give a story you love, because they'll botch it up. I think selling the franchise was his way of throwing his hands up and showing that. He seems to regret selling at this point. I also agree that making a KOTOR movie or show would be a mistake. Lucasfilm is utterly inept with handling the franchise, and struggles with character writing, or any kind of real depth. The Mandalorian and Jedi: Fallen Order have been the best two things out of current canon, and they're both just good. I think it was a huge mistake for Lucasfilm to wipe the slate, because now they're going back and trying to make stuff with KOTOR, when they already have canonically contradicted it.
A better told story through the eyes of Anakin would've been a great twist if they could've made the farm hero the villain. Hopefully one if the inevitable remakes takes this approach.
I like them. I don't like "the world" as much as I do Star Wars, and was a bit underwhelmed by Mass Effect 1 back in the day, but the second one was pretty great I thought. Obsidian added a certain something to KOTOR that's absent from Mass Effect, but they're still good games. Thanks for watching.
@@retromuel to be honest I never liked Mass Effect. It's no Shenmue, lol. And I've never played KOTOR but was always eager to try it and your video got me even more interested in it. Maybe I'll try one of 'em some time. Anyway, great vid
@@alex.starostinThank you very much. Yeah I mean Mass Effect is certainly not one of my favourites but I thinks it's good. KOTOR is looking really quite old graphically and mechanically these days but the writing and the voice work/music etc are as good as they ever were. KOTOR 2 in particular is really pretty special I think, although it does take an absolute age to get going. You have to have quite a lot of patience with it. It is awesome though.

I wonder how do you feel about Mass Effect games considering it's basically KOTOR without Star Wars llicense
