Funfact: Colin Hay is Scottish by birth, movng to Oz at the age of 14, when his parents emigrated.
So he came from a land up over.

I 'see' that they had to change the flute rift due to a troll copyright claim by Larrikin Music,. The flute rift was too similar to 'Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree' song which Larrikin Music bought the copyright to in 2002.
It's one of the reasons that the song went from getting a good amount of airplay on Australian radio to only getting dragged out on special occasions. We do not like those who troll for profit in Australia!

You're right about Arsenio, this was 2016 apparently, something supernatural going on there, he hasn't aged a day 😵💫. Great song, Colin Hay is amazing live, seen him do some acoustic shows over the years, just sublime. Thanks Squirrel. ❤

@@peterdubois65 I grew up with the band and this song and only found out he was Scottish about 7 years ago when I heard him speak in an interview. I also lived in Scotland for 26 years, I don’t think many there know either 🤣

Yes, I agree. This one is great but when you listen to Colin’s two stripped back acoustic versions on RUclips there’s powerful emotion in his voice that is palpable and his guitar playing is exquisite!
