Im putting this in a reply here just in case you dont see my comment: From a survivor: Hey mr beard! I love your videos but as a person who knows nothing about youtube drama stuff I did not know david dobrik was cancelled for s*xual misconduct. As a teenage survivor its a lil triggering and I think it would be good to include a trigger warning, if youre worried about getting flagged put “TW: SA” Sa stands for s3xual assault and most survivors will know what that means. Another thing thats not necessary but could be helpful is puttinng time stamps to avoid the more triggering content such as the thing with jonah around 10:40 I know you did not intend to trigger or harm anyone in anyway, and I clearly see that you are trying to bring awareness and place the significance that those kind of jokes deserve to have, but for a sexual assault survivor, I would like to think about it as little as possible, so a warning would be amazing for future reference. Love your content Mr Beard!
Mr beard I'm pised lmao please can you make a compilation of all the songs you've made for videos there all awesome but there hard to find please take this to heart
I don't like gabby and never have but the diet pills thing, especially knowing she had an ED is such a shitty thing for David to do and it's so clear it affected her and she didn't see it as a joke like everyone else did
Because it wasnt a joke, for most women if youre not close to or underweight you literally arent skinny. And if you dont have a small nose or enough lips then youre ugly and not feminine either. They meant what they said and shes heard that stuff from loads of people so what single reason would she have to believe that any of that was a joke in the slightest
Yes! It's also a VERY CLEARLY wrong thing to do. There's a huge difference between a mistake that hurts people and a decision that hurts people. Mistake that hurts people = doing something that hurts people WITHOUT realizing it will hurt people, or without realizing much it will hurt people. Decision that hurts people = doing something that hurts people WHILE realizing it will hurt people, regardless of how much it will hurt people. Mistakes that hurt people are understandable. They're not deliberately hurtful actions. Decisions that hurt people are NOT understandable. They ARE deliberately hurtful actions. Good and bad people can make mistakes that hurt people. Good people do not make decisions that hurt people. BAD people do make decisions that hurt people. David had absolutely NO RIGHT to claim that exploiting and assaulting ANYONE was a mistake. Every single "mistake" that was outlined in this video is VERY CLEARLY hurtful to others, and David, an adult human, should know that. A 5 year old child would know that. He didn't make any mistakes. He made choices that resulted in his "friends" getting hurt and people being exploited and assaulted. If David really didn't know that these choices he made and things he did would hurt people, then he's an absolute idiot that has no sense of perception. If he wants to spin the narrative that he truly didn't realize that he was hurting people, then he needs to admit that he either has 0 intelligence or deliberately did not listen or look out for signs that he was hurting people. Either way, he should not have a platform if he's operating on those terms without proper supervision. There were so many signs along the way that people were hurt, emotionally and physically, by his actions. He didn't care to change his behavior when he saw this, so these were not mistakes. They were deliberate decisions he made.

Especially sense as far as I’m aware from watching videos about RUclips drama, is that she has an eating disorder and has a hard time with her image. So for a close friend to hand you diet pills wtf
i believe a big reason for gabby's position on the internet is in part due to how david dobrik made her feel. she isnt a bad singer, but david really made everyone hate her, and i feel like it led to her also antagonising herself and everyone else
@@kiyawilliams4416 She has an ED? I stopped watching her a long time ago but I remember her whole like. "Getting fit" journey where she showed how difficult it was- managing calorie intake with meal prepping, talking with a personal trainer, and working her ass off in the gym. It's not exactly the norm but I wouldn't say that's ED behavior. Did she change?
@@someoneidk308 From what I recall from the grapevine, she’s taken it to the extreme. Being very conscious of your diet doesn’t constitute an ED, but when it grows obsessive and disrupts your life it turns into a disorder. It’s very easy to turn being health-conscious to being health-obsessed (which is ironically not healthy)
This all boils down to one simple fact: David Dobrik doesn't have friends. He has 'toys' that he plays cruel and dangerous games with, and when they decide that they don't wanna be one anymore, he chucks them in the trash.
"So if there's one thing I'd like to say to you, David, is that I'm glad I'm not your friend" what a great way to put it! imagine developing that kind of reputation and being okay with it

@Mr Beard yeah, I get it, as a teenage girl who’s nowhere near skinny, people can be such assholes. I’ve always been shy, mostly because I’m so insecure about my body, but seeing you and other creators owning yourselves and being funny, creative, and confident is actually really inspiring. I’m really glad that I was able to start expressing my feelings about it and they let up, cause they genuinely felt bad for upsetting me.
Hey man I hope you're in a better place in life now. Being the "fat one" sucks ass- I never dealt with it but I got the opposite end of it. I was the skinny one who everybody called twig, harrassed, got asked invasive questions about whether my ribs were visible, and constantly told that I was ugly and lanky. I look back on it as bitterly funny, because I've been struggling with an eating disorder since I was a very small child. Being made fun of for your body is horrible, you don't deserve that no matter what your bodyfat % is.

His core fans are so delusional. I never got the hype around David and the vlog squad and whenever I've brought it up on videos I'd be attacked. Especially on tiktok when people kept making videos asking him to buy them cars. 😒
Let's be honest. David doesn't see his "friends" as people, but a lot of people don't really see entertainers as people either. Even if they know he's shitty, he entertains them so they don't gaf. They don't follow him for his morals.

the Jonah short film was very touching and a great addition to the video. Really helps to humanise the ‘characters’(friends) featured in David’s vlogs, as David strips them of their struggles and identities.
Addendum: I apologize if I made it seem like I was saying that all sex work is low effort. This is not what I was trying to say whatsoever. I was trying to say that the amount of effort Corinna specifically puts into OnlyFans is not equal to the amount of money she makes from it. Someone taking 1 picture of themself and making over $100,000 for that picture is a disproportionately large amount of money. However, this is how being insanely famous works. All famous celebrities make disproportionally large amounts of money because of capitalism, so I was making the point that David also makes a disproportionately large amount of money, but no one ever laughs at him or jokes about this with him because he is a man. However, sex work is work, and your average sex worker does work hard and is not paid the insane amounts of money someone like Corinna makes. Also, I understand that all jobs under capitalism require people to commodify their bodies. The issue is that the sex industry specifically has so many predatory people working in it, and so many people look down on sex workers. So while I believe sex work should be destigmatized and women should be able to do sex work safely, there is still a big issue with young women being pressured into the industry, usually by predatory men, and I believe this specific industry is much more predatory than a lot of other industries which is why people need to be extra careful. The sex industry is one of the worst industries when it comes to misogyny and capitalistic exploitation, and people just need to be aware of this, however sex workers should not be demonized or looked down on because sex work is work. The people who need to be demonized are the people profiting off of the sex industry by exploiting women.

Guys who advocate themselves as funny and nice are low key a red flag for me. Everyone has a shadow side, David is not comfortable showing his upfront, which is the scary thing. He made Taylor cry, stresses Natalie out, and underpays Jason on Views. Whatever we see on vlogs, his only a tiny fracture of what he is really like. We only think he is like this bc he exposes himself in that light, but when the camera is off, we don’t know his true colours, only close people can really know him. Outsiders like Cassandra, Liza, Gabbie, Jason, his close friends don’t count bc they probably grew up in a similar neighborhood with a similar outlook. I honestly think one day Jason and David are going to part ways because they just don’t see eye to eye. David has a lack of common sense or practicality and that’s with Natalie on his ass about everything. One day he’s only going to pull up his big boy pants when everything parts ways, he’s oblivious to it all because he has money. The only motivation is money. He will never learn unless he goes back to the beginning, or something far more traumatic happens, which results in actual legal action that he cannot defend himself against, even with a lawyers help.
I honestly feel bad for Davids friends. They're caught in such a dynamic that if they leave his squad, they loss money and subs. But by staying, endanger themselves mentally and physically

It's super shitty how the term "cancel culture" could mean attempting to hold the powerful to account for their bigotry, abuse, predatory actions etc OR Hate-mobs hounding private individuals off the internet for an edgy joke they made when they were 15. I'm not saying people can't be criticized for past comments, or private individuals can never be called out for bigotry, to be clear. They absolutely can be. I'm saying the behaviour and the consequences are wildly disproportionate and injust, and it's bonkers we call both "cancel culture". I'm all for hounding wealthy, powerful people offline, btw, although it rarely happens irl.
Honestly conflating the two is just rich people or people who don't want to be "cancelled" because they work in media, trying to discredit the criticism and the means by which they get held accountable to at least some degree for their actions. They want normal people to think it's overblown and they could be targeted next, but the odds of that are low because it's actually easy not to be rich, famous, and awful.

Truly from the bottom my heart, may God continue to bless you with humility and wisdom. I can't tell you how many MEN (let alone other feminists) have dared to call me a SWERF for saying the same things you said in this video!! Even when I'm speaking from FIRSTHAND experience!!! What a breath of fresh air, man...happy thanksgiving and thank you again x50 :)
In my experience most men talk negatively about sex workers. Even and sometimes especially the ones consuming their content or services. I‘ve pretty much never heard a man say „Get that bag!“ regarding female sex workers. That attitude pretty much exclusively comes from other women and viewing sex work as real work and maybe even empowering is a pretty new concept in general. It kinda confuses me that your experience is so different.
@@Froggele Sex work is an extremely complicated and nuanced topic among feminists. Because on one hand sex work is work and sex workers should have the same rights as everyone else, but on the other hand, men are usually the ones who benefit the most from sex work, and many sex workers are in very pressuring and coercive environments that we shouldn’t ignore
@@RyanBeard I agree and am aware of that. I think it will be very challenging to find a way that women who really want to do it can do so safely while addressing the fact that the commodification of women‘s bodies is inherently sexist - and let‘s be honest, dangerous for mental and physical health. What I was confused about was the experience OP described regarding men‘s view on sex workers which doesn‘t match my experience at all.
god… the “japanese food” he was talking about is actually a filipino snack and it’s called “boy bawang” or garlic boy 😐😐 racist AND inaccurate pick a struggle david
Also he was clearly impersonating the speech pattern of a Chinese or Taiwanese person. He wants an ‘asian’ friend because he literally cannot tell the difference
it concerns me so much because he's very charismatic. it's hard to not feel like he's likable when you watch his videos, and it lulls his audience into this false sense of security. very cult-like
Thank you for speaking up for these girls. I was in a situation where I was forced to do… things because I was so under the influence that I literally couldn’t stop it. When I tried to tell people, I was told it was my fault. By speaking up for these girls- when David’s fans have long forgotten them- you’re speaking up for all the people that have been in that situation. Thank you.
the only thing that might “cancel” him is if someone outside of the squad gets hurt during one of his stupid videos and sues him into oblivion. clearly almost killing one of his friends and getting two girls SA’d doesn’t affect him but money does.
IDK why his friend didn't sue him after the excavator incident. I'd have sued David for all he's worth (admittedly not very much when you use a different definition of "worth", but still).
David can afford the best lawyers in this country so even then, he wouldn’t get into any real trouble. People like David have an entire team working for them. Lawyers, publicists, advisors etc. so he is always protected and told what to do. So suing David would not be easy.
@@ayla8345 The evidence is right there on video, though. David admitted to doing it himself. When the issue is that cut and dry, I don't think any amount of money would prevent a jury from ruling his actions as criminally negligent.
David is so generous, he gave away so many things like assaults, body-shaming and brain injuries. He also deserves an award for the fakest laugh ever. And look what happened to BigNik after being in his team 🤔
what did i watch, this was a cinematic masterpiece wow the clip of "jonah" the song the amazing ways of explaining what was wrong with david this was so much more inspirational than i thought it was i know you will never see this but hats of to you man

Seriously I cried the first time I saw this short of mr beards and cry every time I re-watch it. The emotions and feelings puts into these are so outstanding. Seriously an amazing actor and even better person.
Comparing Sex workers to professional athletes is probably one of the best and most accurate comparisons ever made. Will be using this in arguments from now on
the ending was actually terrifying but i really loved how you interrupted it !!! also it’s nice to see someone stand up against all these scummy, misogynistic creators
the king has served ✨CONTENT✨ But in all seriousness, I sleep tight knowing I didn't watch any of David's videos. If the whole interned can't change you, then something is seriously wrong with you.
That bit where you talked about whether OF was really empowering was really great, I didn’t know how to put how I felt about it into words until you said that. It feels like you genuinely care about women. Thank you.
Same here, many people don't speak up about that, and people making fun of women for being on OF is so common that it shocked me, in a good way, to hear someone talking about it without shame or trying to word it more neutrally. Some women can enjoy it, but there is the issue of capitalism making it one of the only viable ways for women to make money enough to live comfortably. And that's not good, no one should be forced into selling their bodies in any way, through labor or entertainment and male gaze.
the jonah short film was actually really emotional, wow. see this is why i enjoy mr beard's content so much, it's so clear that he puts so much effort, dedication and actual thought into his videos. i feel like it's not just entertaining, but also holds educational value in a way. he's a smart guy it's clear, both in terms of intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence. i always feel satisfied by the end of his videos.
today's video topic aside, you genuinely have such a powerful way of speaking about these issues. you don't sugarcoat it and it's incredibly immersing and, in my opinion, almost perfect. I appreciate you taking a stance on these people and issues in the way that you do.
I’m glad you brought up the workplace harassment thing. I think lots of youtubers get away with really bad stuff because it’s just the internet or just for fun but these things would never fly in the real world. Sadly youtubers and influencers dont have consequences.
Idk a lot about Dobrik since it's simply not the type of content I consume, but the whole "gifting expensive cars to friends" is just a facade; the whole point of it is to coerce the people he gifted them into paying them back because, if they don't, then they're disgraceful "after giving them such mindful [expensive] gifts." The cars are not a present, they're a liability. And, fun fact, coincidentally that kind of behaviour is very *very* common in abusive relationships. That's also partially the reason the whole gifting thing is made public.
Also the fact that Natalie is his childhood friend and was his assistant who participates in their little influencer circle is wild to me. She cannot be objective about anything and is only there as his yes-man and to serve him. I know the purpose of an assistant is to help him with anything and everything but I think it'd be a bit healthier of a dynamic if the assistant wasn't a friend but someone who could honestly advise him and warn him about stuff bc he clearly has no more common sense.
@@Andrea-ue7gv No offence, but Taylor is fucking stupid. She’s cute, but really stupid. I’m surprised how they hired her, or if she is the dumb, innocent character in his vlogs. I’m generally so confused with the whole work dynamic, no one is professional whatsoever, even Natalie, who is probably the only one with a brain, is not even professional enough for me.
its so terrifying how much control david had and still has over his friends. hes so manipulative. i feel so sorry for everyone hes come in contact with.
Excavators and other large machinery require thousands of hours of training to master. 5 years straight on one machine usually minimum. What a genuine asshole to think he could run one with a HUMAN BEING attached.
I wonder how the hell he got the right to control one. He must have bribed someone, or shit maybe he just fuckin bought it because he’s rich as hell. Can we all collectively go rob him and take his money, he doesn’t deserve it at all.
@@deltaloraine absolutely, lmao. to think that some people don't have homes or food or clean water and he has enough money to constantly threaten the health and lives of human beings is just so disgusting
One time in a college class we were discussing the rights of sex workers and this one dude was acting all supportive until I casually compared sex work to being a professional athlete and then he suddenly adamantly disagreed and got offended because he was an athlete working toward going pro. I asked him if he thought sex work was a valid profession and supported sex workers, why was he offended to be compared to one? And he got huffy and shut up after just being like "it's different."
The Jonah short film - you have outdone yourself! Genuinely a great stand alone piece but added on to an already fantastic commentary video, this is top tier content creation. You are so talented at what you do!
I've struggled with self esteem issues thanks to issues in my own friend group, and my friend group is WAY less toxic than David's is. These things can really screw a person up.
In tears. As always, Mr. Beard has delivered an absolute masterpiece. You are a creative genius and we're so grateful to be able and experience your content. The message here is so important and the sketch at the end added an incredible amount of weight to the impact that this video has. Once again, thank you, Mr. Beard
as a filipino, i just want to mention that the "japanese" food david mocked is literally filipino food. "boy bawang": the first word is the english word "boy" and the second one means "garlic". please get this man some more education.
ok but like, YOU ARE TALENTED, MAN!! the short footage of you impersonating the "fat guy" who is forced to come back to that horrible enviroment filled with bullying and manipulation made me emotional. you deserve so much more recognotion for your talent, your bravery and the dedication you put on your work👏👏👏👏
I was just watching a tea video on how the dude literally stole something from some ancient ruins in Greece. He just seems to have never grown out of being a teenager and it's just sad really. He really should have been cancelled from everything last year, and yet no one seems to be able to cancelled on the internet nowadays.
When you have as big of a following as David does, it's kinda impossible to just "disappear". Even if his channel were to get deleted today, people would still be talking about his legacy for many years to come (not to mention the fact that he'd probably just focus on another platform lol). On the Internet, nothing ever truly stays forgotten.
i feel like people returning to their platform like this after they've been "cancelled" is a pretty good indicator that they have not changed... if you've abused your power in this way and been called out and you genuinely want to change, the responsible thing to do is to walk away from the public eye and quietly work on yourself and probably go to therapy or something. but they never wanna do that, because they care more about money and clout than about being a good person :/ it's depressingly predictable
probably a late comment, but it's so crazy to me how David literally says "I'll make sure those mistakes don't happen again"; that's... not a mistake that just, happens, it something that he fully took part of and the fact that he just doesn't seem to take full responsability for it is insane to me
that Jonah short film bit was beautifully done and refreshing to see in a commentary video! i feel like a lot of commentary channels/videos can often be so similar in style and tone that they lack a personal touch/style or originality to some degree and i think the jonah short film bit really showcased your talent and was a great unique artistic addition to the video and it definitely made this video stand out to me! great work, man!
Love. One nuance I do wish you had included for context : David does not “buy” the many cars he’s given away. They are always purchased by sponsors, like SeatGeek or whatever ; I don’t think David actually spent money on those videos. Just made it.
Also, you can’t “genuinely start caring about people” at David’s age ; at this point, whatever lack of control David felt in childhood, developed from a defense-mechanism into (if not a full-blown Personality disorder) a full-blown personality. Learning empathy for the first time in adulthood is essentially not possible -- and if it is, it’s full-time self-work, work that people without empathy are simply NOT going to do.
i used to watch the vlogs as a teenager. and it’s sad to look back and see how much that influenced me and how i treated people. so yeah congrats on a kids choice award david. you really taught kids how to treat people around them.
The short film really hits hard.. I'm happy that you're saying how you see it. It's nice to see that there are people who actually see through this kind of bullcrap

From a survivor:
Hey mr beard!
Another thing thats not necessary but could be helpful is puttinng time stamps to avoid the more triggering content such as the thing with jonah around 10:40
I know you did not intend to trigger or harm anyone in anyway, and I clearly see that you are trying to bring awareness and place the significance that those kind of jokes deserve to have, but for a sexual assault survivor, I would like to think about it as little as possible, so a warning would be amazing for future reference.

I know like tf 😟😟 I felt so sorry for her and absolutely disgusted towards David
Ikr!! I dont like her too but that was a absolute shit action to do. I felt mostly bad for her cuz i have been bullied for being 'fat' too.
David is such a shit head, he made me feel bad for gabby. Nice work, DAVID!
and to think, people were surprised that she cut things off with them.
Calling the exploitation and assault of these women a 'mistake' is vile
Its absolutely disgusting. They knew what they were doing, it's not a mistake.
They were deliberate decisions he made.
it’s like he’s just comparing it to a little “whoopsie!” like, “whoopsie I sexually assaulted innocent women”? no. just no.

I know, I kind of think gabby is a tad annoying but that really broke my heart. and thats not even the only terribly cruel thing they've done to her.
@@kiyawilliams4416 She has an ED? I stopped watching her a long time ago but I remember her whole like.

@@RyanBeard I agree and am aware of that. the only thing that might “cancel” him is if someone outside of the squad gets hurt during one of his stupid videos and sues him into oblivion. clearly almost killing one of his friends and getting two girls SA’d doesn’t affect him but money does.
IDK why his friend didn't sue him after the excavator incident. I'd have sued David for all he's worth (admittedly not very much when you use a different definition of "worth", but still).

Idk a lot about Dobrik since it's simply not the type of content I consume, but the whole "gifting expensive cars to friends" is just a facade; the whole point of it is to coerce the people he gifted them into paying them back because, if they don't, then they're disgraceful "after giving them such mindful [expensive] gifts."
The cars are not a present, they're a liability.
Natalie hasn’t been his assistant in ages. Taylor is his assistant.
Natalie is just a simp at this point.
The "skit" near the end was actually so beautiful and well done, it was legitimately heart breaking
its so terrifying how much control david had and still has over his friends. hes so manipulative. i feel so sorry for everyone hes come in contact with.
The last bit made me cry, I relate to the whole fat friend thing and it reflects how we tokenize ourselves to pander to people who use us
I'm sad I wasn't there to see jenna marbles until she left, i'm glad she took accountability on her actions and actually is working to better herself.
I know the video topic is super dark but the dude singing "misogynyyyyyy" in a very soft voice is MAD funny
probably a late comment, but it's so crazy to me how David literally says "I'll make sure those mistakes don't happen again"; that's... not a mistake that just, happens, it something that he fully took part of and the fact that he just doesn't seem to take full responsability for it is insane to me
that Jonah short film bit was beautifully done and refreshing to see in a commentary video! i feel like a lot of commentary channels/videos can often be so similar in style and tone that they lack a personal touch/style or originality to some degree and i think the jonah short film bit really showcased your talent and was a great unique artistic addition to the video and it definitely made this video stand out to me! great work, man!
Love. One nuance I do wish you had included for context : David does not “buy” the many cars he’s given away. They are always purchased by sponsors, like SeatGeek or whatever ; I don’t think David actually spent money on those videos. Just made it.
Also, you can’t “genuinely start caring about people” at David’s age ; at this point, whatever lack of control David felt in childhood, developed from a defense-mechanism into (if not a full-blown
Personality disorder) a full-blown personality.
I really do prefer to only hear about david dobrik from my favorite youtubers criticizing him
The short film really hits hard.. I'm happy that you're saying how you see it. It's nice to see that there are people who actually see through this kind of bullcrap
