  • Three Canadians have been killed recently in fighting in Ukraine. The Trudeau government has just announced more arms donations and spent significant time attacking the Conservatives for insufficient 'support' for Ukraine.
On Talking foreign policy: an internationalist perspective on Canada’s role abroad, Yves Engler interviews University of Ottawa professor Ivan Katchanovski about these developments and a top Zelenskyy's advisor revelations about peace negotiations with Russia, the 10th anniversary of the Maidan protests and Holodomor commemoration.

I think that by supporting the war with weapons we support the destruction and killing of the people, rather than helping to establish peace in a very divided populace. Our politicians seem to think that they are required to hate Russia, this is problematic and makes things worse.

The professor speaks too quickly with a strong accent. In other words, it is impossible for some of us to follow his train of thought.

Interesting. Most Ukrainian-Canadians vote for Conservatives? I wonder where the Prof got that idea. Just because he has 3 books coming out soon and he will say anything to anyone. After all these years in Canada, he should do something about that accent. Too thick. And he is very quick to damn others while building himself up. He is busily setting himself up as the preeminent expert of all things Ukrainian. He is not. What he did to the elder Mr Hunka was cruel.

This video is poorly presented. Sound quality of professor guest is muffled and poor quality, needs more treble. The names are so small a magnifying glass wouldn’t help and the professors name is mostly off screen.
Why is Canada warmongering against Russia on the other side of the planet?
Canada has no interests economically, financially or trade wise with Ukraine and has no reason whatsoever to be creating conflicts with Russia.
Canada since WW2 had a worldwide reputation of acting in a peacekeeping role. Trudeau has ruined Canada’s reputation since he became a puppet of the Biden regime.
