Heidelberg is a university town in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, situated on the river Neckar in south-west Germany. In the 2016 census, its population was 159,914, of which roughly a quarter consisted of students.
Heidelberg University, founded in 1386, is Germany's oldest and one of Europe's most reputable universities. Heidelberg is a scientific hub in Germany and home to several internationally renowned research facilities adjacent to its university, including the European Molecular Biology Laboratory and four Max Planck Institutes. The city has also been a hub for the arts, especially literature, throughout the centuries, and it was designated a "City of Literature" by the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Fine video. But there is a mistake. It must be "Burgweg", not "Brugweg".
I lived there for 4 years, I left my heart in Heidelberg. I could cry I miss it so much.
I feel you. I could cry I miss it so much. I think about it everyday. Beautiful place and it changed my life. I walked up and down der Hauptstrasse a thousand times because I wanted to make sure I'd never forget it. It worked. I never forgot it. I miss the magic it put in me.
I miss Germany so much. I should have gone to the University of Heidelberg but came back to USA after graduated high school at Mannheim American High School. I had my junior prom at the Heidelberg Castle and me and my parents often visited Heidelberg. Favorite castle in Germany.

@@LaLa-qb2ps What year? I attended HHS very briefly for 2 years from 1995 - 1997. I actually went back to Heidelberg many years later from 2009-2013 as a DoD employee...and was there to see it close down. Coleman Barracks in Mannheim (the prison) was like the only thing in the Rhein-Neckar region still open AFTER 2013.

Stationed in Germany with the US Army in the 70's and 80's and Heidelberg was one of my favorite places to visit when I had some time off. Fantastic memories and thanks for sharing the video with the rest of the You Tube world.

I lived here in the 1950's and early 60's, and when living in Frankfurt and Wurzburg I often came back. The loveliest city in the world. ❤️

I lived here in the late 60s, early 70s, and it was a beautiful and magical place to be! I was in the heidelberg ballet company. I still dream of it sometimes.

Beautiful! Love all the bold and bright colours, also I imagine your legs were aching after that uphill climb to the viewpoint? Beautiful views though at the top!
The viewpoint is actually accessible two ways; uphill or upwards 300 stairs!
Also there's a second across the river on a path called 'Philosophenweg' which is steeper but allows for one of the most gorgeous views over the city and, in good weather, even Mannheim, the neighboring city
