i learned to drive on that. my mother had a maroon 66 toro, she bought it new (traded it for a Seville- the one with the hump trunk) she always liked flashy cars. it really drove , you could get up to 75-80 on the interstate and not feel a thing...
The '66 Olds Toronado was my first car - it was my Mom & Dads car & they gave it to me in '76 after they got a new car. This is the first time I've seen the same color though usually they're gold , white or some shade of blue. Mine was Burgundy Maroon & looked just like this except the hubs were more elegant. I loved that car it was a real head turner & purred like a lion no one could figure out what it was though because they were so rare.
Actually now that I took another look I think the hubs are the same it's the white wall that's throwing me off we didn't have those on ours just made the car look sleeker
I had no idea about this car until I watched 1993 The Dark Half, I was blown away by its aerodynamics and stealth look, what a beauty it is, converting one of these to an EV would be cool
hey bud , you could never dent the hood ,,you must still be wet between the ears,,young lad,, you could use a sludge hammer and not even scratch the hood,, bud
57 years old. People who don't know classic cars, maybe would guess this car is just 20 or 30 years old, cause the clean design still looks stunning.
My 2nd car was a 66 Toronado. Bought it when I was 17. Girls liked it.
One of the top 10 most beautiful cars ever designed.
Along with almost every year of the Buick Riviera

My grandaughter's father had one. He moved to Atlanta and l never got a chance to ride in it. What a shame.
If I drove one of these along the Crosshands to Carmarthen dual carriage way at a high cruising speed I will be the talk of the town !
Thank you for sharing your video of this magnificent Toronado 1966.
It looks absolutely brand new, mint condition !

The Toronado was quite a success for Oldsmobile, so they can't have been so rare. But sure hard to find one in this condition today.
What a beautiful car. Perfect color and condition.
First class beauty indeed 😍
Absolutely gorgeous!

FWD V8?! That's pretty crazy! 😅🙆🏽
Funny how the radio station was talking about rising gas prices...
I'd love to take this baby up Pacific Coast Hwy with some Hendrix blasting. Maybe Are You Experienced or Voodoo Child(Slight Return)🔥😎🔥
Ouch! That hurt when I saw how he tried to close the hood, you never do that! Beautiful car, even with the palm dents on the hood...
Those cars were solid- i think it could handle it - those windows sound kinda creaky though!
