Got mine two weeks ago. Cool bike. Waited about 4 months for it and put 300 miles on including a 50 mile night ride. Started at 14 on a Honda 55. Still having fun at 72.
It’s for me. In my mid 60s, been riding 50 years. My weekend rider was a CB1100. Love the retro look and sounds. Hate the damn bulk and weight at over 600 big. Love my 300l, less than 1/2 the weight, but feels even lighter. So fun to ride, balanced. . Fast enough. Always want more for my 75% street, 25% gravel and hot mix back roads. Just got my Yoshi pipe and reprogrammed ECU.
Retired guy with moderate skills and experience, my daily ride is a Super Tenere 1200. Deposit placed and waiting for a Rally. My intended purpose is to haul on the back of a luxury suv exploring the backroads between small towns in America and Canada. Sounds like retirement to me! I've ridden the Rally and liked the extended range and a bit of wind and weather protection. This set the bike apart from the WR250R and KLX300 I test rode. You make great videos, thank you for putting in the time, thought and energy!
You and I are on the same page. I'm not retired yet. BUT, if I had a time to ride off road, this would be the bike (or the KLX300). Happy Trails to you.
I fall into several of the aforementioned category of 300L rider. It is my only vehicle, so I commute on it everyday, and on the weekends I like to take it moto camping with all my gear tied on the back, and once camp is set up, I take the lighter, unloaded bike offroad on anything from fire roads to technical single track. It goes all of the places! 10000 miles (2000+ offroad) and counting!
Andrew love the channel. I’m in my mid 60’s and road dirt bikes for years. My last dirt bike was a Honda xl 250, that was mid 70’s and it was a tank! Anyway you’ve made me think the 300 l would be perfect. Gonna start looking and I’ve subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work
I really like the points you’ve made. I personally purchased the 250L 4 years ago for much of the same reasons you listed for the 300L. It’s my go anywhere do anything adventure motocamper and I freakin love it!
I'm new to motorcycles. Been riding since late 2019. I upgraded from the CSC TT250. So I don't have a great idea for what a truly great bike is like but so far I'm really enjoying the CRF300L and it fits my needs. I wanted a bike that would allow me to ride from my house and explore the miles of forest service roads to explore and new places to fish. Lately I've been using the bike to commute to work and help save on gas. You're idea for who this bike is for is spot on. Loving your videos.
Thanks Michael. I feel like a lot of people are negatively critical of this bike, and a lot of those same people have never rode it. For everything it offers it is a really sold choice for many people.
Love the channel, one of the best crf300l content creator channels out there! I got first crf300l last autumn, as a 2nd bike for my wife after riding her 125cc for a year and at the same time as an off-road learning bike for me. I've been riding for more than 5 years, but exclusively on road. Half of that time I owned MT-07 which I loved as the only bike, but with the crf I fell in love with offroad trips and my wife is surprisingly good and eager for offroad riding too! So a decision was made, I sold me beloved MT and got another crf300l that is now my commuter and we go offroad riding with my wife every weekend now, each on their own crf 😍 But my speed junkie withdrawal is getting close, so I am currently also eyeing second bike for myself, a middle weight supersport for highway and twisties fun 😜 Then I'll consider my life fulfilled 😌
I have a CRF250L and it’s strapped to the back of my RV that I live in. It’s a good weight for transporting with my rig. When I find a campsite I can keep my rig parked and use my 250 to explore the area or make runs to the grocery store to restock (I have some rear luggage). Basically it’s my main mode of transportation once I park my home for a little while. I love the freedom and this bike is so versatile that I don’t have to worry about where I park my rig. I could see a 300L definitely being an upgrade in the future when my 250 is ready for pasture.
Yep over 50 and was looking at a WR ended up with a 21 300l wanted one that was still in production and love it....... now spending money on hop up parts...... already had exhaust and a 550 stage 1 in it...... and yes love the FI......,
Made it to the end! Great comments! Looking to pick one up later this year. Seems like the best all around dual sport you can buy (as long as you're not trying to set land speed records)!
Appreciate this video. I've ridden off and on for 10 years...mostly street bikes, but began with a dirt bike. I'm looking for something street legal that will allow me to get out into the trails...city guy with a city job but a love for the woods and exploring, fishing and such. My issue is height/weight. at 6' 4" / 235lbs I think I need above average torque and really good seat height. That is what made me consider the 300L above the 250F...I don't have a need for the Rally, but your videos have done alot to help me arrive at that conclusion. Thanks - great content.
I bought the bike so that I could start commuting to work with it rather than my F150. I ride a bit of single track in the summer and fall and have an intermediate skill set. So far from what I can tell I'll be able to take this bike anywhere that Ive taken my other dirt bikes.
I recently found your channel. My buddy rides a CRF250L and we're near the Pine Barrens. I recently tried his 250 around Oswego lake and I'm hooked. Thinking a 300L is in the near future. Thanks for the content.
I just got my Honda CRF 300L yesterday. I was dying to get one. I traded my KTM Duke 690 Supermoto for a 2021 CRF that has 3,600 miles on it. The bike looks brand new. The seat height is very tall. I cannot flat foot the bike when seated but almost. The kickstand is too short to peg mount the bike. I need to put a 1×4 under the foot to make the bike more level to climb on. I am 5'-10" barely. Don't get me wrong. This is a great motorcycle. I also own a 2017 Kawasaki x300 Versys that way outclasses the Honda for highway travel. But each bike has it's merits and I will have a blast alternating these two world class 300 motorcycles for my adventures. These are the best motorcycles I have ever owned. I ordered lowering links from Shorty's today that I expect will make the little Honda friendlier to mount and ride. I lowered my Kawasaki 1-1/2" and it turned into a fantastic motorcycle. If you do not plan on much offroading buy the x300 Kawasaki Versys. It is by far the best motorcycle I have ever owned and I say that having recently sold my two 1200cc BMW's!
Having just emigrated to the States , I had to re pass my motorcycle test to ride legally over here ; I did my course on a CRF250L and fell in love with it and now want one or the newer 300 L , as where I live in North Nevada there are so many opportunities to ride on dirt trails that I wouldn't want to take my FJ09 that I bought. My Mrs enjoys riding pilly on the FJ so I need to justify to myself that I need a 2nd bike 😁 enjoyed this video immensely so you've just made my decision even harder . New subscriber though. Keep up the good work Matey 👍
I specifically bought the 300L for a daily driver here on the west coast. I was spending so much money on gas on my Hemi 1500 truck... my insurance is $29 a month and I spend like $50 a month on gas.... my truck would spend that total in 4 days.... love it.
I committed on a previous video about the 300 ,which I personally love..the speed shop in Florida has one that put a blitz ecu.a fmf pipe and de smogged it .they said it really woke the bike up and now can do 109 mph..I the shop is sst or ssi..
Nailed it! Love my 300L for all these reasons! This is the bike I've wanted for decades! A truly do it all (good enough) bike. And the ridiculously high gas mileage has been a joyous surprise bonus! So glad I chose this bike, glad it was surprisingly available, and grateful for yours and other channels that have helped me properly mod to suit me. Thank you!
I'm putting my order in on one for next summer. I'm not paying a 1000-2000$ surcharge for a used one. I'm also ordering a crf110 for my next year 7yr old son. My goal for the bike is to do alot of summer commuting to save the miles on my cummins. I'd also like to get back on a bike, I had them as a kid but haven't had one in 15 years (last was a raptor 660). Also with my boy on a crf50 and soon to be 110, I want to get out with him and teach him with longer rides and moto track. I've watched most of your videos and agree with all your points and feel this is my next bike. First plans with it: Yss front/rear suspension upgrades Bars and zeta handgaurds with turn signals/signal delete Rear tail light delete with tst kit Led bulb for headlight Axp rear rack and skid plate Michelin anakee wild tires Exhaust and ecm and airbox mod will be over the next winter It will be my getaway bike and can't see getting rid of it... ever really.
I wanted the 300L but my dealership didn’t have one and no other Honda dealers had one. They no information on when one would come in. My motorcycle test was coming up and I needed a bike. They had a 2022 CRF450RL that a guy backed out of. I hopped on that. It’s been an amazing bike so far.
I like your video's on the Honda CRF300. They've helped me to narrow my selection desires. I ride a new Goldwing and LOVE it for laid back short or long trips. But at (over) 60 yrs old, it's time for me to get a toy and possibly a commuter bike too. So, add to your list of possible owners of this bike the "over the hill" people who have years of experience riding "all sorts of bikes for 40 years" and want a care free, newest version of an Enduro with little yearly maintenance. And has enough power to challenge and satisfy all our dreams of once a great time in the dirt and on the road with two wheels. Cheers to all who ride.
Awesome! and thanks for the recent comments/questions. Im glad you found the 300L I think it is a great bike for the purpose you are looking for. Also one day I will be in your shoes with many years of riding experience. At 38 I have over 20 years riding myself.
Hi From Ireland. The 300L Will be my next bike, to explore Co Donegal All the Mountain Trails,I Have The Trail 125 2022 Model, But I need more Power, Love Your Blog, Cheers.
The CRF is on my list. I had an XR650 and the seat height was dangerous for my ability. After a year with no bike, I got a KLX230. Its fun. The fuel injection and six speed makes the little bike do a lot better than you’d expect. My son has the CRF250L and its night and day a more refined ride. I don’t think I could go wrong with the CRF300. The seat height is the same as my Kawasaki and it only weighs 19 more pounds.
made it to the end Andrew, nice video this one. i am likely an intermediate rider caught in between buying an aggressive offroad machine (thinking about crf450xr) which i know i d love offroad and hate that i ll have ve to carry around on a trailer and the low powered gummy suspensions crf300l that i'd love for the fact that i can ride everywhere and hate when it would not wheelie in 4th gear in the sand....😅
Andrew, that's so cool you have a Rally on reserve and are going to build that up too. I've been watching all your videos and they are perfect and just what I need, because I am wanting to do the Trans America Trail in September. I am thinking I'll be getting the Rally and mod it per your recommendations (except might need an aluminum Skid Plate for some of the rocky trails in Colorado, but would love your opinion on that versus where you ride). Thanks for all your hard work on these videos!! You're awesome!!
Thank you for the awesome comment of the day, best most nice one I have read today. My dealer said to expect it in june/july. Also this friday 04/22 I have a video being released comparing the rally to the 300L and which one is best for each rider. Thanks again.
worth to watch the whole video Im going to get a test drive on the 300l the other option is KTM/gas gas 300 tpi 2 stroke as we can get those street legal in czech republic
I gonna have my 300 Rally for a motorcycle walk around the Trans Euro Trail. I have a 950 Super Enduro as well, but no need for the power (or the fuel consumption ; -) so the 300 is perfect 👌
Abandoned ghost towns sounds interesting. Whereabouts do you live/vacation to see them? As for my V-strom 650, I just missed (by minutes) buying a barely used 2019 Touring model at my local Harley dealer. I look and looked for seven weeks and finally found one in DC. I flew there from KY on FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH (August 2021), picked up the bike and rode it 643 miles home in the wind, rain and up to 108 degrees (F) at age 72. My biggest fears were hitting a deer or falling over when I rode up to a gas station because the bike was so tall for me. I do not think I will ever have a ride like that one again and I would like to find a lighter bike with a lower seat height. Thanks for making the video!
Can't wait till you get your Rally. That's the the bike I'm most interested in for commuting and moto camping. Also looking at the Aprilia Taureg 660, but it's twice the price.
heh good on the inspector gig. I do materials testing on hvac & reefers but mostly destructive. Yeah lithium cells aint exactly saving the environment. Just got my rally, Im in Syr, dealer in Schen'dy.
Great content! I think I fall into a slightly different category of someone who wants one... I grew up riding and racing (a little bit..) motocross. I just turned 50 and just don't need to go the speeds that I did previously. You know, kids in college and I really need to make it to work on Monday. My biggest pluses for this bike are Street Plate and Service intervals. I think I will outride the suspension pretty quickly, so that may have to be addressed. Thanks again!
Hey Jason, I think the bike will fit you well. The price is pretty good on the 300L and you can still buy a rear shock at a total cost lower then other bikes on the market. The only argument I can see is the KLX300 but riding them back to back I like the honda better. I also did a video comparing them back to back see it in my pinned comment if you are interested.
I owned a Honda Transalp 25+ years ago. 600cc V-twin, great fun. But I used it for on-road use only then, wasn't knowledgeable about maintenance or wrenching on my own bike to fix, modify or maintain and didn't think I needed to learn how to ride. I taught myself basic road riding techniques on it and figured I was competent. Haven't ridden since then so am looking to get back into moto-cycling now that my kids are grown. I'll use mine almost exclusively off-road now, but the idea of being able to ride into a small town for lunch tickles me. All that to say, I'm a BEGINNER and not afraid to admit it. I'm trying to decide between a Yamaha XT250, CRF300L and Kawasaki KLX300. I'm heavier now than I was 25 years ago so might need to invest in a custom suspension no matter what I buy. I deliberately want slow, not-so-powerful, and basic/easy to maintain. And yes, I watched all the way to the very end. Great video, Andrew!
Haha well I am from New Jersey US. The southern part, we are mostly farmland and trails here, then an hr or 2 west commute and there is all mountains and the appalachian trail.
Thanks so much for this video. I agree with everything you say. Bought mine in jan2022, due to ice and snow, only have 2k miles on it, but it's wonderful, and so much easier than my first bike in 2020, and awesome Africa Twin. I wanted a T7, but was impossible find. If I ever get a chance to trade the AT for one, I certainly will.
I’m getting a 300l as soon as my dealership gets one. I currently ride a CRF1100l, my second Africa Twin. I love the AT, but I want something that’s easier to play with off road.
I am a beginner and bought a CRF 300L last week. I am an experienced mountainbiker since 35 years. I want to take it on adventures in the European Alps. I am 59 years old, 6 feet (1.80 cm) tall and weight 180 lbs (77 kg). I ride motorcycles for approximately 40 years.
I watched the whole video. Great content. Thank you. Where is this? I’m in NJ and I hope to get comfortable with sand on a small bike to play in the pine Barrons etc. (I also have a 1250 GS)
So I’m from Aus where we have the DRZ400e model legal to register. I’ve also added wide ratio gears and a big bore. Power is awesome and can take it anywhere. Biggest thing stopping me from buying a 300L is missing those extra horses. Honda did a really good job on so many things with this bike except the power but I get how for some that will be enough.
Nice, I frequently ride a DRZ400e. I actually just rebuilt the carb and got it running really well over the summer. Here we cannot have them street legal.
@@MotorcyclesOffroad yeah I remember hearing that. Maybe Suzuki will do a new updated DR350 with fuel injection one day. I think carbs should just be reserved for push mowers from now on.
Another Aussie DRZ400E owner here. Could you comment on how much extra power the big bore feels like? What about the wide ratio gearbox. Are the spacings too big between 3, 4 and 5th for enduro riding?
@@EricBanner571 sure the big bore is cylinder works 440 and helps with spacing between gears when WR installed. You would notice the spacing more on std bore hence why I did it. Gears 1-4 are great for enduro riding. Only minor gripe is there is a bit of a gap between 4th and 5th but you could prob mitigate that by going from 47 to 48 rear sprocket. Doesn’t bother me enough though.
It seems to me this might be just the right bike to lighten the effort of owning an adventure bike. As I get older that's becoming important. I traded my DL650 a few years ago for a pontoon boat.I dontbregret that. I thought my DR200 that I bought to carry on the rv would be enough. It isnt.
I like my CRF300L Rally I have only 125 miles on it but going to put a lot more on it. I am fitting it with Giant Loop luggage so I can go traveling around the Pacific North West and camp.
I have a rally abs paid $5750 and love it. I pay $200 a year for insurance here in Louisiana, and it’s hot as hell here. Getting 66mpg. Will be hitting the TAT this year. Do you have a link to this power commander?
I swapped out the front sprocket from 14 to a 13T and like the snappier acceleration but seems to rev higher rpm’s. What rpm range is too high? Could I be be doing damage? I forgot what factory “shift” light was set at because I moved my shift light to redline. Thanks for all your work!!!! Btw. I put kenda Trakmaster 2 110/100/18 rear and a Shinko Mx 216 90/90 and can’t seem to get over 70 mph both with stock gearing and a 13T front sprocket. DNA air filter otherwise stock. What’s wrong with my bike!? Do heavier tubes and tires really slow it down that much? I never ran stock tires to compare…. Thanks for anyone helping with my situation.
Try a 42 rear sprocket. My 250L has a 13/42 set up and it cruises 70 no problem (at least in my opinion). Your rear tire choice is interesting though. I’m running 120/80 18 and 90/90 21.
Thanks for the reply. My bike almost feels likes it’s running out of power near 70 mph. I did take it in for a valve clearance check. Do you think the dealership messed something up? Seems to run fine though….I do a lot of fast two track with dirt/sand so I really like the knobby tires. I occasionally run to town on highway and so far the tires have been holding up. The Trakmaster 2 110/100/18 runs large. When you measure it with a micrometer it’s only 2mm narrower than the stock IRC 120/80/18.
I have zero experience on any motorcycle mainly cause I’m 17 and don’t have a good paying job yet but I’m $300 deep rn gonna continue to save up to get a Honda crf300l and use it as my daily rider to get to and from work and hit the trails on the weekend with my buddy’s
How do you feel it compares to the Gen3 KLR. I have a KTM 250XC that does the offroad work beautifully. But I also need something that can do the occasional commute and do the more adventure type riding. Previously owned a KTM1190 but it was way too big and heavy, the power was fun tho.
I am 5”11” and I think my 300 seat height is too low. Especially with dirt bike boots. I weigh 168 lbs. This is my first bike and I friggin love this machine. I am about to put Dunlop’s on after 900 miles and am debating 550 performance ECU.
I currently ride a 88 Honda nx 250 but have been looking at the 300 l and the klx300, neither are available right now but I like both, I want a fuel gauge so am leaning Towards the Honda
I'll just tell you now you don't live in a state with high insurance I live in Phoenix I'm 41 years old clean driving record for OVER 10 years I was wild when I was a kid but all that shit is not on my driving record whatsoever I have a 2020 Honda Accord 2.0t & I pay $190 per MONTH for that full coverage w the basic minimums w the 250 deductible & for my 2018 CRF 250l rally full coverage 250 deductible is $28 per MONTH! And trust me I've shopped around & when I had the Africa twin 2021 adventure sport full coverage it was about $75 if I'm not mistaken per MONTH... Funny shit huh went from a 1100 CC Africa twin down to a 2018 CRF 250 rally & never been happier 💯👍👍
If you think that carbs give you a delay when you open the throttle you never had a well sorted out carb. Cheap carbs might behave as you say, but good carbs with an accelerator pump give you a really good response. I'm not saying that FI doesn't have its advantages, but well tuned, good carbs don't do what you say. Also, a 300 will not have that an abrupt snap.
@@MotorcyclesOffroad Sure, but I didn't say it's bad, or that EFI is bad. I just said that carbs can be good too. The fact that you went out and spent on ECU, exhaust and intake tells me that the stock bike wasn't exactly how you wanted it. Same with carbs. You need to make them work well. On my DRZ I had an FCR carb with accelerator pump. It worked perfectly. I don't know the EFI on the CRF, but any EFI system w/o a closed loop is just a compromise. It will never perfectly self adjust to maintain a desired lambda. If your bike doesn't have at least one O2 sensor and a proper programming it'll never reach the full potential of a modern EFI system, because it has no feedback.
Perfect, talkin money is supposedly taboo but it's also what everyone wants to know lol. It would take me 500 saved work hours buy this bike without a loan.
Hey mad man if you check out my one year review I explain all about the suspension and I show me using it on woops and I'm 240lbs. ruclips.net/video/zi0_eEvSb0k/видео.html
The perfect bike due to the low MSRP. It costs less than my electric mountain bike. From a dirt bike rider perspective, I was disappointed when Honda did not convert their 250X dirt bike for street use. The MSRP would have been double for a 250L.
Honda needs to release a CRF250RL using the CRF250RX engine for the US market. This Global Market dinky CRF300L needs $2k worth of mods to make it acceptable for the US market.
Well I don't remember saying that but maybe a Ne pic I found showed it. But if you were going to break the country in 4 slices in the middle it seems to kinda be NE. Also I would love to come ride there or like harpers ferry.
@@MotorcyclesOffroad lol just nitpicking. I’m in the southern part of the state and there’s trails everywhere. I don’t have much experience in the northern or eastern panhandles, but the Ohio river valley riding is beautiful. Cant really go wrong here
Have you upgraded the suspension? My bike is at the shop right now and all they’re doing is changing the springs so that it can take more weight. Should only cost a few hundred dollars. Hopefully it improves the ride quality.
I have been kicking the can down the road so to speak. I do want to do the suspension but I have been saving money because I have a rally coming in june/july.
I have a 250L and a 450L and bought a 300L hoping it would be able to eliminate both the 250L and 450L kinda like a do it all machine. Although I will say the 300L is just fine its not enough different from the 250L to justify buying one. To anyone that has a 250L I would say keep it and save your money.
Its not jsut the slipper clutch it is so much more. And Mike Julson I am sorry but I humbly disagree, me and the others in my riding group feel the 300L is a magnitude better then the 250L. I have road both bikes side by side and I have done a complete comparison so check that out here: ruclips.net/video/on1uzOHKNsk/видео.html
Maybe i will be able to afford this kind of M . bike after couple of decades 😂. It's really bad if you are born in a country where monthly salary is 300$😂. Good video 👍.
If you do not change the oil and filter in this bike or any bike than you are doing it wrong. For how cheap it would be you would be gambling with the longevity of the engine.
Agreed, I change the oil often but it is nice to know it is built where you dont have to. For example if you did the trans American trail which is over 4000miles. You can do the whole trip without having to do an on the road oil change.
Do you mean to say you will get a 300L Rally in addition to your 300L? Wow. At least you will be able to make videos comparing them for guys like me who can’t make up their mind.
@@MotorcyclesOffroad awesome. I am just about to put down an order for a 300L here in Brisbane Australia. $9000 AUD on road with 12 months rego. ETA July. Will be a mate for my DR650
I've allways ride custom bikes and spending thousands of dollars on customization 2 weeks ago I've got my first dual sport the crf 300l brand new for 5500 euros and its been the most fun bike ever. its simply amazing cheap to buy and run and it does everything, first time i dropped it i was so scared but after inspection it didn't have a scratch all this years wasting time and money on custom bike..
Check out the site motohunt. Google motohunt honda crf300L and put in your zip code there was like 60 in different locations all around the US the last I looked.

Got mine two weeks ago. Cool bike. Waited about 4 months for it and put 300 miles on including a 50 mile night ride. Started at 14 on a Honda 55. Still having fun at 72.
Love your attitude!
This is an awesome story! Im glad you were able to love motorcycles you whole life.
You just described me. I am looking at this mostly for the light weight. To do what I did on my DL650. It just got too heavy for me on gravel.
I’m 60 and use my 300l for general riding around and trails, had a 660 tenere and hated it but love the 300l it’s all I would ever want and need.
Wow you really do use this motorcycle for its full potential. Good for you, that is truly awesome to hear.
They are really solid bikes overall. I have a friend in my riding group who has a 250L.
Haha I also have 2 bikes for 2 different tasks.
OUTSTANDING Review! I'm sold!! I'm a BIG picture sort and you painted a great picture.
Thanks for watching to the end. Yeah there is more performance bikes out there, but you will pay a lot more and shorten the service intervals a bit.
Hi Andrew,
Lovin your videos here in the UK.
I own the 300l and a Beta X Trainer they are my perfect combination.
Ohh nice, how is the Xtrainer? I have never rode one.
@@MotorcyclesOffroad love it great for the gnarly stuff..
@@davemartin8997 ohh I bet, powerful for how light it is.
Great video Andrew! I’ve got a 300 Rally so I look forward to you getting yours and seeing how you build it out! Keep up the good work
Thanks Ian, I am defiantly looking forward to the rally coming in and taking some long distance day trips, maybe some motocamping.
I’m looking forward to your rally video. It’s a perfect bike for me I think. Has Both off-road and long touring capability.
I was spending so much money on gas on my Hemi 1500 truck... my insurance is $29 a month and I spend like $50 a month on gas.... my truck would spend that total in 4 days.... love it.
Yeah! That's what I'm talking about, motorcycles are such great money savers.
I committed on a previous video about the 300 ,which I personally love..the speed shop in Florida has one that put a blitz ecu.a fmf pipe and de smogged it .they said it really woke the bike up and now can do 109 mph..I the shop is sst or ssi..
Wow that is awesome!
Thank you!
Thank you! I am glad you like it, I put a lot of time in these videos.
First plans with it:
Yss front/rear suspension upgrades
Bars and zeta handgaurds with turn signals/signal delete
Rear tail light delete with tst kit
Led bulb for headlight
Axp rear rack and skid plate
Michelin anakee wild tires
Exhaust and ecm and airbox mod will be over the next winter
It will be my getaway bike and can't see getting rid of it... ever really.
Good video I just got mine , still modding it . Gonna swap tires , bars, add bash plate , pipe it , tune it , change levers , grips, few other things
You make some good points, I will be checking this bike out :) Thanks
Great video. I just picked one up last week. Brand new rider at age 50.
Nice! I bet you are loving the new bike. And congratulations.
It’s for people who don’t want to ride now, but sometime toward the end of the year. None till September in Australia.
Lol, well more will be coming as time goes on.
@@MotorcyclesOffroad Thanks so much for your awesome reply! Yes, I am looking forward to your video on 4/22 for sure! Thanks again!
worth to watch the whole video Im going to get a test drive on the 300l the other option is KTM/gas gas 300 tpi 2 stroke as we can get those street legal in czech republic
Those are also cool bikes, tho for a lot of people they are very expensive.
I gonna have my 300 Rally for a motorcycle walk around the Trans Euro Trail. I have a 950 Super Enduro as well, but no need for the power (or the fuel consumption ; -) so the 300 is perfect 👌
Ahh, yes it will be a good motorcycle for fuel economy and long trails.
I’d love to see a moto camping gear video!
Awesome, I was thinking of making one. I just want to make sure people would be interest.
For sure dude, I’ll definitely be using mine for camping so any info you have the community would love.
Me too! I am gearing up and would appreciate some recommendations. I know there are a lot of videos out there, but would like to see your take on it.
Can't wait till you get your Rally. That's the the bike I'm most interested in for commuting and moto camping. Also looking at the Aprilia Taureg 660, but it's twice the price.
Me either, I feel like there is so much content I can make on that bike alone. Plus you know I want another bike... lmao
Well presented, useful information. Thanks
Thank you, and thanks for the comment.
heh good on the inspector gig.
Well I can say I just did a video not too long ago about beginner bikes: ruclips.net/video/HlEbOJNwRyw/видео.html
And thanks for watching to the end.
Great job
Thanks
Crazy how much that looks like Aussie bush. 💪💪
…that’s what she said
😂😂😂
Haha well I am from New Jersey US. The southern part, we are mostly farmland and trails here, then an hr or 2 west commute and there is all mountains and the appalachian trail.
Thanks so much for this video. I agree with everything you say. Bought mine in jan2022, due to ice and snow, only have 2k miles on it, but it's wonderful, and so much easier than my first bike in 2020, and awesome Africa Twin. I wanted a T7, but was impossible find. If I ever get a chance to trade the AT for one, I certainly will.
What year and size AF and yeah I love the T7 for what I use it for.
I’m getting a 300l as soon as my dealership gets one. I currently ride a CRF1100l, my second Africa Twin. I love the AT, but I want something that’s easier to play with off road.
Good stuff as always
Thanks man, and I have noticed all the support. Hats off to you dude.
Love this Bike riding since 11
Awesome! glad to hear it, I like mine a lot as well. So much fun I have had on the 2,000 miles I put on it, and this is like 90% offroad lol
Great content only problem is you cannot get a 300l
In time there will be more, Also check "motohunt" Just google motohunt Hondacrf 300L I saw 60 or so all around the Us the last I looked.
@@MotorcyclesOffroad I decided on the the tenere and my wr250r is far superior to the 300l
Mountain biking translates really well into dual sporting. I hope you have fun on your new bike.
I watched the whole video. Great content. Thank you. Where is this? I’m in NJ and I hope to get comfortable with sand on a small bike to play in the pine Barrons etc. (I also have a 1250 GS)
I am also in NJ.
Man, that sounds amazing. Good for you getting out there and enjoying it.
I have a rally abs paid $5750 and love it. I pay $200 a year for insurance here in Louisiana, and it’s hot as hell here. Getting 66mpg. Will be hitting the TAT this year. Do you have a link to this power commander?
Ride to the bath room made me smile .😀
A huge upgrade to fix that is get a 550 performance ECU.
I’d buy one if I could find one
More and more they will be available. Try motohunt it works well.
Yea no kidding, been trying for 6 months
Just order one and wait.
@@LTLT900 I did about 3 weeks ago. It’s the waiting that’s the hard part.
I have zero experience on any motorcycle mainly cause I’m 17 and don’t have a good paying job yet but I’m $300 deep rn gonna continue to save up to get a Honda crf300l and use it as my daily rider to get to and from work and hit the trails on the weekend with my buddy’s
That is awesome, keep saving up and you will get there one day.
The ECU is a game changer. Also go and tighten your preload on the rear spring, it will keep the bike nice and tall.
hi, i made it to the tree scene :D by the way the video was useful
I currently ride a 88 Honda nx 250 but have been looking at the 300 l and the klx300, neither are available right now but I like both, I want a fuel gauge so am leaning Towards the Honda
Hey Rick Idk if you have seen it but I did a complete side by side of these 2 bikes: ruclips.net/video/Ie3Tp0d86T0/видео.html
Eventually i will get one as my 1st bike, or the klx300 seems like there both a win.
Awesome, both are great. Did you see my 300L vs KLX300 review? ruclips.net/video/Ie3Tp0d86T0/видео.html
I just really like the snap and feel I have on mine with the ECU, exhaust, and intake. I also have it geared pretty low.
Some youtubers say the suspension is not good when you get into rougher trails. Is it really that bad if you're not pushing it hard?
Don’t know why you added wv as being in the northeast, it’s been a hot year
Well I don't remember saying that but maybe a Ne pic I found showed it.
I do want to do the suspension but I have been saving money because I have a rally coming in june/july.
do you think the slipper clutch on the 300l is worth the premium over a 250l for a new rider?
Great video. I love the freedom to explore. Glad you won the battle with that pine tree, at the end.
Maybe i will be able to afford this kind of M . bike after couple of decades 😂. It's really bad if you are born in a country where monthly salary is 300$😂. Good video 👍.
Would you recommend driving 60 miles a day as a daily driver? Will it hold up? Also whats the top speed?
Thank you, I am glad I can help out.
Can the 300L maintain 70 mph comfortably for 1-2 hours?
It can but I would suggest adding one tooth to the rear sprocket if that is your commute, this way the RPMs are lower.
Yes I have a rally on reserve to expand my videos on this particular motorcycle. I hope to be the go to guy for 300L content.
@@MotorcyclesOffroad awesome. I am just about to put down an order for a 300L here in Brisbane Australia. $9000 AUD on road with 12 months rego. ETA July. Will be a mate for my DR650
It's not for me , at 6 ' 3" 230lbs the 450 L is way better for a big guy. Ive owned 250s ,350s and 600s . The smaller bikes are fun .just to small
Hey man that is a completely fair assumption and analysis.
Me
I've allways ride custom bikes and spending thousands of dollars on customization
2 weeks ago I've got my first dual sport the crf 300l brand new for 5500 euros and its been the most fun bike ever. its simply amazing
cheap to buy and run and it does everything, first time i dropped it i was so scared but after inspection it didn't have a scratch
all this years wasting time and money on custom bike..
I gonna buy crf, so here in Wisconsin it's hard to find a new one. I don't know how many days do I have to waiting for.
Check out the site motohunt. Google motohunt honda crf300L and put in your zip code there was like 60 in different locations all around the US the last I looked.
