I taught music for nine years before becoming an ASL teacher - which I have dine for 16 years now. This is a breathtaking example of two of my favorite things in the world. You are an inspiration. With so many bad examples of signing music out there I rarely find myself showing videos of signed music to my students. I showed this one in all of my classes immediately. Please make more if you are so inspired!!!! You rock!!!! Really amazing!

OMG... This is a song of extreme inspiration. I just burst in tears and feel the energy flowing without deterrence, but to see it in ASL is even more powerful to me. I just want to cry and scream the lyrics even if my throat runs drier than the tenfold droughts. I'm hard of hearing, myself (technically Deaf, but there's a "long" story to it.), and I love interpreting songs. It's not the same as using your voice, it's just more empowering when we see it with the energy that keeps on flowing.
What I most like when watching a song in sign language is how the person seems to be dancing while doing it. I also loved how much feeling you put in this, it was very touchable. =)

i think this is the best translation of the song into ASL that I have seen. i'm a teacher of the deaf working with mainstreamed kids in public schools. the 5th grader are singing/signing this for graduation. love your interpretation of "ignite the light". I am trying to find the easiest way for hearing kids to sign the chorus.
I personally love sign language, i took 3 years of it in highschool, i havnt gone to college yet, but if i ever go back to do it, ill def do sign language. I think its suck a beautiful language, more beautiful than any other langauge ive ever come across. You are one of the people thats an insperation to me to learn more about sign language, and learn about the history of it. Sign langauge is a beautiful laanguage. It really is.
